The purpose of research are 1). To know are differences in science process skills of students with the applied of inquiry training learning model and direct instruction learning models, 2). To know are differences in science process skills of students who has high critical thinking ability and the  critically low ability, 3). To know the interaction inquiry training learning model and critical thinking ability toward students science process skills. The samples in this research conducted by cluster random sampling and  as many as two class , the first class (X-I) as experiment applied Inquiry Training learning model and the second class (X-2) as control class applied Direct Intruction learning model. The instrument used in this research is tests science process skills and critical thinking skills in the form of description and observation sheets science process skills. From these results it can be concluded that: 1) there are differences in students science process skills with applied inquiry training model and direct intruction model, 2) science process skills of students with high critical thinking ability is better than the science process skills of students with the ability to think critically low, and 3) the interaction inquiry training learning model and critical thinking ability toward the science process skills.

This study aims to determine the effect of practicum-based direct learning model on science process skills and students' critical thinking skills. This study is a quasi-experimental research with the Pretest-posttest Control Group Design. The sampling technique using Cluster Random Sampling. The sample in this study were students of class XI IPA 1 (18 students) as the experimental class and class XI IPA 2 (18 students) as the control class in AL-Hamzar High School Tembeng Putik. The research instruments used were learning implementation observation sheets, the science process skills observation sheets, and learning achievements tests. The data obtained were analyzed using the t test with the help of SPSS 16. The results of data analysis showed that the implementation of learning in the first meeting reached 81% and the second meeting 96% with a very good category. The students’ science process skills in both classes show that students' science process skills varies. The students’ critical thinking ability in the experimental class was higher than the control class. The results of pretest data analysis showed that students' critical thinking ability in the experimental class was 35.5 while the control class was 49.5. Students' critical thinking ability in post-test increased in the experimental class to 73.5 while the control class was 58.6. The results of the t-test show that tcount > ttable (3.45 > 2.04) so it can be concluded that the practicum-based direct learning model was affect toward students' science process skills and  critical thinking ability.

The purpose of this research is to know the effect of the search, solve, create, and share (SSCS) learning model on critical thinking ability and student learning outcomes in science subjects. The sampling technique is purposive sample population through the experimental method, this research population is the students of class V SDN 12 Palu. Based on the result of data analysis, it can be concluded that: 1) there was the influence of learning model search, solve, create and share (SSCS) to student critical thinking ability on science subjects with human and animal organ material; 2) there was the influence of learning model of search, solve, create and share to student learning outcomes on science subjects with human and animal organ material: 3) the average gain after the posttest in the experimental class was 82.97; 4) the results of observation of teacher activity and observation of student activities can be said to be good.

This study aims to explore the effectiveness of inquiry learning models inter-vened by the reflective process to promote the critical thinking ability of preserv-ice teachers in terms of cognitive style. This study is a quasi-experimental re-search with one-group pretest posttest design. The research sample involved 24 preservice physics teachers who studied at the Physics Education Department - Mandalika University of Education (Undikma). Cognitive style measurement us-es the Group Embedded Figures Test (GEFT) to identify groups of preservice teachers into the field dependent (FD) or field independent (FI) cognitive style. Measurement of critical thinking ability using test instruments in the form of es-says consisting of 8 test items. Critical thinking ability score is analyzed descrip-tively and statistically, where the normality test and paired t-test was conducted. The results of the study show that as many as 13 preservice teachers are catego-rized into the FD cognitive style and 11 categorized into the FI cognitive style. The average pretest score of the two cognitive style groups (FD and FI) was 0.87 with the criteria of "less critically", and after the implementation of the inquiry learning model intervened by the reflective process, the average posttest score was 16.25 with the criteria of "critically," and n- a gain of 0.64 with the criteria of "moderate." These results indicate that the inquiry learning model intervened by the reflective process is effective to promote critical thinking ability of preservice teachers with FD and FI cognitive styles.

This article describes the effects of inquiry learning model on college students’ cognitive and critical thinking skills. The research aims at understanding the extent inquiry learning model improves the college students’ cognitive and critical thinking skills in the lessons of educational philosophy and exploring students’ responses to the model. This is a pre-experimental research design, using the one group pretest-posttest design. The samples of the study were an intact class, the experimental group and no control group is needed. The data was analysed using independent test samples t-test and Normalized Gain test. The Research found that the inquiry model is effective in improving college students’ cognitive and critical thinking ability in an educational philosophy class. Overall, the N-Gain indicator of cognitive ability increased by an average of 0.66, and the N-Gain indicator of critical thinking skills increased by an average of 0.63.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         Keywords: Congnitive skill, Critical thinking, Inquiry learning, Educational Philosophy, College Student

The aims of this research were to analyze the result of student’s Science Process Skills by using Inquiry Training Learning Model, to analyze the result of student’sScience Process Skills who had critical thinking ability above average better than critical thinking ability below average and to analyze the interaction between Inquiry training learning model and critical thinking ability of physics student’s Science Process Skills. This research was a quasi-experimental with two group pretest posttest design and anova design. The sample was conducted by cluster random sampling of two classes, the first class as experiment class with inquiry training Learning Model, and the second class as a control class with Conventional Learning. The research instrument consisted of science process skills test and critical thinking test. Data in this research was analyzed by using two ways Anova. The results of the research showed that student’s Science Process Skills using inquiry training learning model better than conventional learning, student’s Science Process Skills who had critical thinking above average better than critical thinking below average, and there was interaction between Inquiry training learning model and critical thinking to improve physics sudent’s Science Process Skills

Critical thinking is a purposeful and clear process used in mental activities such as problem solving, decision making, persuading, analyzing assumptions and conducting scientific research. The ability of thinking critically is effected by the competence of knowledge acquired by the students. Based on midterm exam, the result showed that 87,5% of students do not meet the minimum exhaustiveness criteria (KKM). One way that can be condusted to overcome it is applying inquiry learning model.the purpose of this research is to find out the effect of inquiry learning model towards studens’ critical thinking skills. The research is Quasi experiment research by using Randomized Control-Group Research Posttest Only Design. The population is VIII class student in SMPN 11 Padang. The sample is VIII.B students as an experiment class and VIII.C students as a control class, that are selected by purposive sampling technique. The instrument used is final test in form of essays to see the effect of inquiry laerning model of critical thinking ability of students. The hypothesis in this research is examinated by t-test, because the data is distributed normally and it has homogenen variation. Based on the research, the result showed that critical thinkingability t arithmetic > t table (4,23 > 1,67). Therefore, the hypothesis is accepted it can be concluded than applying inquiry learning model can give positive effecttowards students competence of critical thinking ability about excretion system in VIII class SMPN 11 Padang.
