The Arabic language learning for university students in University is faced by various problems that impact the lack of language proficiency. Some problems faced by university students come from negative learning attitudes, low motivation, unhappy feelings toward the Arabic course that tends to be boring as well as a non-supportive language environment. The use of Hybrid Learning approach in Arabic language learning was done by strengthening students’ physical and mental state. This research aims to: (1) analyze the Arabic language learning by using Hybrid Learning Approach, (2) analyze lecturers' technology literacy level in deciding the success of the learning process (3) analyze the effectiveness of  Hybrid learning model on students' learning outcomes in Arabic language. This study applied the Mixed-Method Research to examine students' Arabic proficiency and learning process by using Hybrid Learning approach..The research respondents in this study are college students who take an Arabic language subject that consist of 80 students in each College. The data collection technique used in this research is a test, questionnaire, and interview. The use of Hybrid learning in Arabic language learning can improve students' positive attitude and learning motivation. Besides, this also can enhance students’ Arabic language skills. The significance of the research is to solve various problems of Arabic language learning faced by lecturers. The implementation of Hybrid learning can create an effective learning environment that can enhance Arabic language skills. This research result can be applied by Arabic language lecturers to handle various problems regarding attitude and learning motivation.

In the wake of COVID-19, university students have experienced fundamental changes of their learning and their lives as a whole. The present research identifies psychological characteristics associated with students’ well-being in this situation. We investigated relations of basic psychological need satisfaction (experienced competence, autonomy, and relatedness) with positive emotion and intrinsic learning motivation, considering self-regulated learning as a moderator. Self-reports were collected from 6,071 students in Austria (Study 1) and 1,653 students in Finland (Study 2). Structural equation modeling revealed competence as the strongest predictor for positive emotion. Intrinsic learning motivation was predicted by competence and autonomy in both countries and by relatedness in Finland. Moderation effects of self-regulated learning were inconsistent, but main effects on intrinsic learning motivation were identified. Surprisingly, relatedness exerted only a minor effect on positive emotion. The results inform strategies to promote students’ well-being through distance learning, mitigating the negative effects of the situation.

This research conducted to improve university students’ motivation in basic and process of learning biology subject in Biology Education Study Program Universitas Jambi through implementation of learning journal. This research have done by two cycle, which each cycle done with four steps, include planning, action, observation, and reflection. The result show that percentation score before action is 67% in enough criteria, in first cycle up to be 76,25% with good criteria, and in the second cycle increase to 76,25% also in good criteria. In conclusion, implementation of learning journal can increase learning motivation.

Kata Kunci:  pendekatan Problem-Based Learning, pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning,   kemampuan komunikasi matematis, dan motivasi belajar siswa. The Effectiveness of PBL Approach and CTL Viewed from Mathematical Communication and Learning Motivation of Students Junior High School  AbstractThis study aims to examine  the effectiveness of Problem Based-Learning (PBL) and Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) viewed from students’ mathematical communication ability and learning motivation and which more effective instruction between PBL approach and CTL approach. This study was quasi experiment research. The population covered all grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Margasari in Tegal Regency.  The sample of class VIII-A and VIII-H. To test the effectiveness of the PBL and CTL approaches, the data were analyzed using the one-sample t-test at the significance level of 5%. To determine differences in the effectiveness of mathematics teaching data were analyzed using Hotteling Trace at the significance level of 5% and followed by independent sample t- test to determine which approach was more effective. The results of this study show that: the PBL approach and CTL is effective to increase students’ communication ability and learning motivation and the PB L approach is more effective than the CTL approach viewed from students’ learning motivation but not more effective viewed from mathematical communication ability .Keywords: Problem-Based Learning approach, Contextual Teaching and Learning approach, mathematical communication ability, student’s learning motivation.

The purposes of the study were to examine technical university students’ tourism and hospitality English vocabulary learning achievement and the factors influencing their hospitality and tourism English vocabulary learning. The subjects were 62 students from a technical university in southern Taiwan. The instruments included one questionnaire called TARGETT questionnaire consisting of seven factors about learning motivation on hospitality and tourism English vocabulary and one English test called Professional Vocabulary Quotient Credential (PVQC) on hospitality and tourism. The subjects accepted a 40-hour vocabulary learning training course. Then, the subjects took a 50-minute PVQC test and 10-minute TARGETT questionnaire on December 22, 2015; the researchers collected the data from the questionnaire and PVQC test and analyzed the data by descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The results revealed that most of the subjects liked to learn hospitality and tourism English vocabulary, and found that learning hospitality and tourism English vocabulary was important for the subjects. The results also showed that male subjects had significantly different opinions from female ones in some factors of learning motivation. Moreover, female and male subjects significantly showed that teaching tasks, grouping activities, and evaluation had more effects on their hospitality and tourism English vocabulary learning. Finally, the researchers drew a conclusion based on the results and provided some teaching and research implications for the future.
