ABSTRACT We report here the draft genome sequences of four strains isolated from spacecraft-associated surfaces exhibiting increased resistance to stressors such as UV radiation and exposure to H2O2. The draft genomes of strains 1P01SCT, FO-92T, 50v1, and 2P01AA had sizes of 5,500,894 bp, 4,699,376 bp, 3,174,402 bp, and 4,328,804 bp, respectively.

ABSTRACT Whole-genome sequencing and annotation have allowed planetary protection engineers to assess the functional capabilities of microorganisms isolated from spacecraft hardware and associated surfaces. Here, we report draft genomes of six strains isolated from the InSight mission, determined using Oxford Nanopore- and Illumina-based sequencing.

We present the genome sequences of nine Bacillus isolates and two Weizmannia isolates from 10 different dietary supplements and one cultured food product. Strains of these species have been associated with health benefits when ingested by humans, due to their ability to survive the stomach’s acidic environment and colonize the intestinal tract.

Here, we report the whole-genome sequences of four Bacillus strains that exhibit plant probiotic activities. Three of them are the type strains of Bacillus endophyticus , “ Bacillus gaemokensis ,” and Bacillus trypoxylicola , and the other, Bacillus sp. strain KCTC 13219, should be reclassified into a species belonging to the genus Lysinibacillus .

Seven strains of endospore-forming bacteria with antagonistic activity against a series of plant pathogens were sequenced in order to investigate their antimicrobial gene clusters and antimicrobial modes of action. The selected strains include six Bacillus strains and one Brevibacillus strain.

Here, we report the genome sequences of three bacterial isolates that were cultured from aerosol samples collected at altitudes of 18 to 29 km above sea level. The isolates tolerate desiccation and shortwave UV radiation and are members of the actinobacterial genera Curtobacterium and Modestobacter and the betaproteobacterial genus Noviherbaspirillum .

ABSTRACT Here, we report the draft genome sequences of 45 plant-associated Bacillus strains isolated from the Qinghai-Tibetan plateau. According to their genome sequences, 28 isolates were assigned to 10 Bacillus species. Seventeen strains could not be assigned and are subjects of further research.

Here, we report 12 draft genome sequences of mutant Mycolicibacterium smegmatis strains resistant to imidazo[1,2-b][1,2,4,5]tetrazines, which are antituberculosis drug candidates. We have identified 7 different mutations in the MSMEG_1380 gene, which encodes the AcrR/TetR_N transcriptional repressor, which may activate efflux-mediated resistance.
