The Australian genera Anomalomorpha Arrow, 1908 and Enracius Dechambre, 1999 (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Dynastinae: Pentodontini: Cheiroplatina) are revised and compared with Adoryphorus Blackburn, 1889. Anomalomorpha giveni Carne, 1957, is transferred to Erbmahcedius Hutchinson & Allsopp new genus, becoming Erbmahcedius giveni new combination. Anomalomorpha pilbara Hutchinson & Allsopp new species and Enracius richardsi new species are described from Western Australia. Keys are given to identify the three species of Anomalomorpha and the two species of Enracius and to separate all four genera from other Cheiroplatina. New distributional records are presented, and habitats of the two new species are discussed.

A complex of small scarabaeine dung beetles related to Lepanus Balthasar, 1966 (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Scarabaeinae) is described, based on morphological and molecular characters. There are two new genera, six new species, and seven new combinations, including the transfer of one species to a pre-existing genus, as follows. Matthewsius Gunter & Weir new genus includes two new species, M. stricklandensis Gunter & Weir new species from central New South Wales, Australia and M. vanleeuweni Gunter & Weir new species from Pilbara region of Western Australia, Australia; two species formerly included within Aptenocanthon Matthews, 1974, M. rossi (Matthews, 1974) new combination and M. speewah (Storey & Monteith, 2000) new combination; and two species formerly included within Lepanus, M. illawarrensis (Matthews, 1974) new combination and M. penelopae (Matthews & Weir, 2002) new combination. Monteithocanthon Gunter & Weir new genus includes six species: Monteithocanthon elliotensis Gunter & Weir new species, Monteithocanthon koombooloomba Gunter & Weir new species, and Monteithocanthon paraarator Gunter & Weir new species from northern Queensland, Australia; Monteithocanthon peckorum Gunter & Weir new species from southwestern Western Australia; and two species formally included within Lepanus, Monteithocanthon arator (Matthews, 1974) new combination and Monteithocanthon glaber (Matthews, 1974) new combination. Sauvagesinella loftyensis (Matthews & Weir, 2002) new combination is transferred from Lepanus on the basis of genetic and morphological similarities.

Recent survey work for planthoppers at La Selva Biological Station in Costa Rica found two new species allied with Cenchrea Westwood. The cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) and 18S were sequenced for the new taxa and used these data to assess the genus-level standing of the new taxa. The new taxa do not cluster with Cenchrea dorsalis Westwood, the type species of Cenchrea. A new genus Tico gen. n. described for the reception of new species described as Tico emmettcarri sp. n. (the type species) and Tico pseudosororius sp. n. Cenchrea sororia Fennah is moved to Tico gen. n., to form the new combination Tico sororius (Fennah). Tico gen. n. is compared with allied genera, and review genus-level diagnostic features and the species composition of Cenchrea, which appears to be compositionally heterogenous, but additional data is needed to evaluate genus-level placement of most species.

Ptychocroca, new genus, is described and illustrated. As presently defined, the genus includes eight species: P. apenicillia, new species, from Chile; P. nigropenicillia, new species, from Chile; P. lineabasalis, new species, from Chile; P. keelioides, new species, from Chile; P. simplex, new species, from Chile; P. crocoptycha (Meyrick), new combination, from Argentina and Chile; P. wilkinsoni (Butler), new combination, from Chile; and P. galenia (Razowski), new combination, from Chile. We present brief diagnoses for the related genera Apotomops Powell and Obraztsov, Bonagota Razowski, Haemateulia Razowski, and Acmanthina Brown, along with descriptions of two new species of Apotomops (A. boliviana and A. spomotopa, new species). We also propose two new combinations, Apotomops carchicola (Razowski and Becker) and A. sololana (Razowski), and the synonymy of Bonagota cranaodes (Meyrick) with B. salubricola (Meyrick).

Occigamasus n. gen., O. lindquisti n. sp. and O. makarovae n. sp. from Vancouver Island (Canada) and Oregon (U.S.A.) are described. Five other new species and their sites are noted but not enough specimens were available for adequate descriptions. Cycetogamasus californicus (Banks) sensu Hennessey and Farrier, 1988 is transferred to Occigamasus as a new combination.

Exploration of poorly known regions of the Australian continental margin has resulted in the discovery of two new species in the scale worm family Eulepethidae. Grubeulepis kurnai sp. nov. occurs in southeastern Australia while Proeulepethus payungu sp. nov. was collected at one site in the Indian Ocean on the continental margin of Western Australia. Pareulepis malayana (Horst, 1913), also collected from the continental margin of Western Australia, is newly recorded from Australia, representing a range extension of that species previously known from Madagascar, Malaysia and the South China Sea. Four species, and four of the six known genera of Eulepethidae are now known from Australian waters. The family Eulepethidae remains species-poor compared with most polychaete families, and now comprises 21 species world wide.

Two new genera and three species of the Pantheinae are described. The genus Flavala gen. n. (type-species Acronycta flavala Moore, 1867) is separated from Anacronicta Warren, 1909. The new combination Flavala flavala (Moore, 1867) comb. n. is introduced. Two new species, Flavala crypta sp. n. and F. secunda sp. n. are described based on the result of barcoding of mitochondrial DNA. The new genus Xizanga gen. n. (type-species Xizanga mysterica sp.n.) is tentatively placed in Pantheinae.

Cleicosta, a new genus of Phengodidae containing two new species, C. equatoreana sp. nov., and C. monaguense sp. nov., are described. Additionally, a new combination for Cenophengus breviplumatus Wittmer, 1976 is included. Cleicosta gen. nov., is the thirty-eighth genus assigned to the beetle family Phengodidae in the new world and is also the most morphologically similar to Cenophengus LeConte, 1881. Both genera exhibit clearly separated tentorial pits, vertical frons and simple tarsomeres. In Cleicosta gen. nov., however, the antennal rami are 1.5 times longer than the corresponding antennomere, the pronotum is subquadrate and the elytra are short, reaching the first or second abdominal segment. In addition, it presents an aedeagus with lateral lobes slender, parallel exteriorly, narrowed medially to toothless apex.

The taxonomy of the predominantly Australian fossil dipnoan genus, Neoceratodus, is revised and the Recent Australian lungfish, Neoceratodus forsteri, and two fossil species, Neoceratodus eyrensis and Neoceratodus nargun, are redefined. Two new species of the related Tertiary genus, Mioceratodus, are described on the basis of tooth plates from central and northern localities in Australia. These are Mioceratodus diaphorus and Mioceratodus poastrus. A new genus, Archaeoceratodus, is erected to include three rare Tertiary species and one Mesozoic species. The Tertiary members of this genus are the type species, Archaeoceratodus djelleh, described originally as Neoceratodus djelleh, and two new species, Archaeoceratodus rowleyi and Archaeoceratodus theganus. The Mesozoic species is Archaeoceratodus avus from Triassic and Cretaceous deposits in southeastern Australia, described originally as Ceratodus avus. All three genera belong in the family Neoceratodontidae.
