Teachers’ ways of using ICT (Information and Communication Technology) in various disciplines is a recent issue in the higher educational research paradigm. In order to extend previous findings in relation to this issue, this research proposes an in-depth investigation focusing on vocational teachers’ qualitatively diverse ways of using ICT in different disciplines. A cohort of 11 teachers from three TAFE (Technical and Further Education) institutions of NSW, Australia, were purposively chosen aiming to ensure adequate variations in disciplines, gender, and experience of using ICT. The phenomenographic research approach was considered as the theoretical and methodological underpinning which guided the participant selection, data collection and data analysis. The findings revealed that disciplines have very limited influence on using ICT in TAFE teaching. It further discerned four categories of description: tool, content, subject, and student focused. The findings provide useful information towards improving vocational teaching practices in different disciplines and working as an input for improving teacher professional development program (TPD). In order to generalise these findings, an extended research with a wider sample is recommended.

Technology has become one of society’s everyday functional tools, changing rapidly and providing widespread mobility. In South Africa alone, the number of Internet users grew from 8,5 million to 24,9 million in only three years (2011-2014). Currently, 90 per cent of these users access this facility from their mobile devices. Statistics illustrate that South Africans are moving towards a continuously connected lifestyle, a situation in which information and communication technology (ICT) seems to have become ubiquitous. Given the rapid growth of ITC technology and its absorption into people’s lives (both personally and professionally), the general aim of the present research was to investigate the use of ICT among employees and how it affects their work-life interaction (WLI). The researcher employed a qualitative research approach in accordance with which a sample of 25 employees was interviewed. Interviews were recorded, transcribed and processed by means of thematic analyses. Three themes with corresponding sub-themes were extracted: use of ICT (i.e. in both work and family domains); challenges that ICT use presents; and the way in which employees manage their WLI by means of ICT. The participants experienced WLI as mostly negative. However, they also mentioned two different approaches that helped them manage interaction between their work and family domains. These approaches entail 1) applying limits to their use of ICT, and 2) using ICT to create flexibility. This article advises that organisations should consider adopting ICT to assist their employees in the management of these two domains. This could be done in two ways. First, organisations could implement a code of conduct or provide guidelines for eliminating the intrusive and excessive use of ICT, especially after working hours. Secondly, organisations could pilot or implement flexible working hours and possible telecommuting initiatives.

The implementation of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into learning activities presents a significant effect on the quality of education, especially in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. The present study aims to evaluate the level of implementation of ICT in learning activities for vocational teachers. This experimental research used survey method by distributing questionnaires to respondents with different subject expertise. The results showed that the use of ICTs in learning process has not been implemented optimally. This is caused by the low competence of teachers in the sector of information and communication technology. In addition, the lack of ICT infrastructure in schools causes a deceleration in the development of ICT-based learning models. Comprehensive improvement need to be implemented so that the development of ICT-based learnings model can be performed. The results of this study are expected to provide positive feedback to improve the quality of Indonesian education

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the effect of information and communication technology (ICT) on real estate agency transactions with a view to determine its influence on the performance of estate agents. Design/methodology/approach A research approach in which questionnaire was administered to elicit relevant information from 220 practicing Estate Surveyors and Valuers surveyed in the course of the study. Data collected were analysed using mean ranking, relative influence index and analysis of variance. Findings The results showed that the use of ICT impacted positively on real estate agency transactions by promoting company’s brand thereby increasing the level of patronage. Consequently, the increased level of patronage signifies an increase in the level of income of the agents. Research limitations/implications The study was limited to social media applications otherwise referred to as ICT, which are used in real estate agency transactions. Further study on other ICT media and their effects on more areas of real estate practice in the developing economy may be required. Originality/value This paper is one of the few works on the impact of ICT on real estate agency transactions with particular reference to the social media networking especially in an emerging economy. Most of the previous studies conducted on ICT and real estate focussed only on internet use with respect to real estate agents and practices.

The rapid development of information and communication technology (ICT) has been increasingly changing the ways of teaching and learning and teacher development. While the literature shows a proliferation of studies exploring various issues of applying ICT in teacher development and teaching practice, there is a lack of overview of the literature in this field. This study aimed to address the gap by reviewing the literature in two themes: (1) ICT in teacher professional development (TPD), and (2) ICT in teaching practice. Six journals of a high impact in the field of teaching and teacher education were selected, from which 85 articles involving ICT applications and published from 2013 to 2019 were identified. Among them, 18 empirical articles highly relevant to the two themes were analysed. The content analysis of these publications identified a set of specific ICT applications in TPD and in teaching practice. Moreover, the analysis revealed the key features of these ICT applications in terms of their functions, their effects on teaching and teacher development, the factors influencing their applications, and the problems in existing applications.

Background: Information and communication technology (ICT) has been a major contributor to world economic growth. Information and communication technology has played a vital role when it comes to the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). In developed countries, SMEs are making use of ICT to support their business functions, although this has not been the case in most developing countries. The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor argues that the survival rate of newly established businesses is generally poor, with SMEs in developing countries performing even worse than the standard survival rates. Objectives: This study aims to investigate the determinants that influence the intention to adopt ICT by SMEs in developing countries using Pietermaritzburg in South Africa as an example to understand this phenomenon.Method: The study made use of quantitative methods as its fundamental research approach. A total of 227 SMEs in Pietermaritzburg were surveyed using a close-ended questionnaire. The technology, organisation and environment framework was used as a lens to understand the study, and a structural equation modelling (SEM) approach was applied to analyse the data from respondents. Results: The study revealed that the technology context is the most influential determinant with a regression weight of 0.975 and that both technology and organisation contexts (-0.221) are significant determinants that influence the intention to adopt ICT amongst SMEs in developing countries. Conclusion: Based on the findings of the study, it is evident that SMEs need to pay particular attention to ICTs that are relevant to them, including the characteristics and resources of the organisation to successfully adopt these technologies.

The purpose of this research is to find out what is meant by donated land, how is the existence of the waqf land and how to study the law of the waqf land and how to optimize the management of the donated land in Indonesia. The object of this research is related to the understanding and meaning of the donated land by the Muslim community in general and especially the Muslim community in Indonesia, which is the majority population. This study uses a literature study research approach, theoretical studies using descriptive analysis methods. The results show that the revitalization of the management of waqf land in Indonesia is a very important and urgent agenda at this time. This can be done through the waqf land certification program based on information and communication technology, making an agreement on wakaf fiqh related to the productivity of the waqf land, implementing modern concepts of waqf land management based on Islamic legal principles, and supported by reliable and professional human resources of waqf institutions. is a challenge and an opportunity for Indonesia to make a big leap as the center of waqf in the world. A strong factor to support this goal is the relatively large availability and the existence of waqf land, the majority of Indonesia's population is Muslim, and the laws and regulations related to land and waqf land tend to be sufficient enough so that collaboration is needed. that is more integrated among the waqf land stakeholders in Indonesia

In the framework of a development cooperation program on quality of education in Vietnam, a professional development trajectory for teacher educators on the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in education was developed and implemented over the course of a three-year program. We describe how the framework on Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge inspired the development of the program. In a longitudinal panel study, we followed a group of 1191 teacher educators (the "total accumulated popluation"). We describe the trainees' reaction to training and learning outcomes and we compare the use of ICT by educators who participated in the program with those who did not participate. Data was collected from self-reported questionnaires and focus group interviews. Comparison of the use of ICT for teaching over the course of the program shows that an ICT core group of enthusiasts made significant progress in integrating ICT into teaching practice. Exploratory multiple regression analysis highlights technological pedagogical knowledge and membership of a community of practice as significant factors for improved use of ICT. Nevertheless, the elements of the professional development program explain only 26.2% of variance. We discuss the extent to which programmed professional development can have an effect on integration of ICT in education and reflect on how to make training programs more effective.

This article examines the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in teaching Science as well as the organisation and realisation of online classes during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In respect to this, the research results are used to gather teachers' viewpoints and opinions regarding the application of ICT in Science classes, as well as to determine the best method of application of the aforementioned technologies and the form of ICT most often used in Science classes. The results are also used to gather teachers' opinions about online classes, and to examine the problems and disadvantages the teachers encountered when organising and holding online Science classes for the lower grades of elementary schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results of the research also illustrate that teachers have a positive opinion in regards to the use of ICT in Science classes as well as the frequent (albeit not constant) use of it. The teachers not only consider themselves competent enough to apply all forms of new technologies in their classes, but express the will and motivation for further education related to ICT application as well. On the other hand, teachers do not have a positive opinion about online classes due to the many difficulties they encounter, such as technical issues, inteference by parents, lack of direct contact with students, the inability to monitor their progress and the general deficiency of equipment needed to incorporate ICT into regular classes, as well as other difficulties of a similar nature. However, the research results also show that teachers believe new technologies are connected to the development of new skills and the improvement of students' existing skills.
