This study investigates how the development of artificial intelligence (AI) is perceived by the students enrolled in technical and humanistic specializations at two universities in Timisoara. It has an emphasis on identifying their attitudes towards the phenomenon, on the connotations associated with it, and on the possible impact of artificial intelligence on certain areas of the social life. Moreover, the present study reveals the students’ perceptions on the sustainability of these changes and developments, and therefore aims to reduce the possible negative impact on consumers, and at anticipate the changes that AI will produce in the future. In order to collect the data, the authors have used a quantitative research method. A questionnaire-based sociological survey was completed by 928 students, with a representation error of only ±3%. The analysis has shown that a great number of respondents have a positive attitude towards the emergence of AI, who believe it will influence society for the better. The results have also underscored underlying differences based on the respondents’ type of specialization (humanistic or technical), and their gender.

The potential value of green buildings is generally attributed to attractiveness for occupiers due to the environmental aspect which brings an impact to the social action, which eventually influences the economic aspect. These three aspects of sustainability (environment, social and economic), which adopted from Concentric Ring model contained various attributes. These attributes may or may not have significant influence among them, thus act as an indicator in impacting the green commercial office building’s value. Accordingly, it is substantial to identify which attributes of green commercial office property have significant relationship of sustainability and to what level of influence among them, including the role of social aspect as a mediator between environment and economic aspects of sustainability. In order to analyse the hypothesized relationships, this study collects quantitative data from the property holders and also end users (tenants and owner-users) of green commercial office building, as they experience the benefits of sustainability in the building. Data were analysed using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with IBM SPSS Statistics 20.0 and AMOS 19.0, respectively. The results show that all hypothesized relationships between environmental, social and economic aspects were supported and indicated significant relationships among them, hence become a fundamental of green commercial office property valuation framework development.

The aim of this paper is to evaluate the implementation of an extra-curricular multi-disciplinary, multi-level Learning Community (LC) on Mergers and Acquisition (M&A) of Small-Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs). This LC was developed according to established guiding principles, namely the theme extends beyond the theme of the regular courses, and it should attract both BSc and MSc students of different disciplines, and enhances students’ professional preparation and employability. The LC consisted of 8 meetings of 2 hours and one meeting for a whole day during a full semester. During the whole day, students played a game in which they had to purchase a company using all acquired knowledge and skills. In the guest lectures offered, students discussed different aspects of M&A with professionals within the field. The LC is evaluated by students on e.g. the content of the LC, what they have learned, the social aspect and guidance, and what could be improved. Overall, the students appreciated the content and structure of the LCs, especially the game, the guest lectures, and the fact that they worked together with students of different disciplines.

AbstractIn today’s world the economic uncertainty, the huge overload of work, the expectations related to the work performance – which are not said –, the monotone work and the risk of violence contribute to the increase of psychosocial risks, which can lead to serious consequences in a company. If we succeed in preventing the negative impact of stress originating from the workplace, then the employer can keep the productivity of the company and besides that, the company gets rid of large expenses. The occupational health and safety is an important component of the social responsibility taking. One of the most efficient tools of prevention is the psychosocial risk assessment and the changes based on this in the company’s operation and regulation.

In connection with the demographic changes taking place in recent decades, one of the key issues are the appropriate management of the potential of the growing number of elderly people and undertaking action to mitigate the economic and social impact of aging of the population. The involvement of older workers in the labor market and the maintenance of good health, activity and independence are the best ways to alleviate the problems resulting from aging of societies and to preserve intergenerational solidarity. The aim of the article is to analyze the demographic situation in Poland in the context of the potential of labor resources and to present the concepts and instruments of age management. The research hypothesis oscillates around the claim that the application of age management strategies makes it possible to make the best use of the potential of all employees in a company, regardless of their age. If restructuring of positions and tasks can increase productivity of employeesand improve the use of human capital, dissemination of age management systems in companies is one of the most desirable actions minimizing negative trends in the labor market, both in the social and economic sphere.
