Background:Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a systemic chronic inflammatory disease, which most likely occurs in young men. It mainly affects sacroiliac joints, axial skeleton, thoracic cage and seriously decreasing quality of life in AS patients[1,2]. In recent years, fatigue of AS patients has been paid more and more attention[3]. Fatigue is a complex feeling, diseased individuals describe fatigue as a sense of tiredness at rest, exhaustion with activity, lack of energy which affects daily work, inertia or lack of endurance, or as loss of vitality. It has been confirmed that fatigue is not only a symptom but may also be quantified by fatigue scores and can be modified by various measures depending on the underlying cause[4]. However, there has been no study about fatigue in AS patients in China. Objectives:This study aimed to evaluate the predictors of fatigue and the effects of fatigue on HR-QoL among patients with AS.Methods:A total of 150 AS patients were involved in the study. A series of questionnaires included: Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index (BASDAI), Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Metrology Index (BASMI), Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Functional Index (BASFI), the 10 cm Visual Analog Scale (VAS), the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS), the Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS), the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), the Health Assessment Questionnaire-Disability Index (HAQ-DI), the Short Form 36 Health Survey (SF-36) and the Fatigue Severity Scale(FSS). Independent samples t-test, Mann–Whitney U-test, Chi-square analysis, Pearson /Spearman correlation and binary logistic regression were used to analyze the data. Results:The results demonstrated that 48.7% individuals with AS suffered from fatigue. Compared with AS patients without fatigue, AS patients with fatigue showed higher WHR(P<0.05), increased BASDAI (P<0.01) and poorer BASFI (P<0.05). Meanwhile, AS patients with fatigue tended to have more severe pain(P<0.05), higher degree of anxiety(P=0.001), more serious functional disability(P=0.001) and worse sleep quality(P=0.001). Binary logistic regression indicated that WHR (OR=1.78,P<0.05), BASDAI (OR=1.34,P=0.01), sleep disturbance (OR=2.35,P<0.05) were independent predictors of fatigue in AS patients. Additionally, the occurrence of fatigue significantly reduced the quality of life in AS patients both physically and psychologically. Conclusion:These findings suggested that medical personnel should pay more attention to AS patients with fatigue and take effective measures to relieve fatigue.References:[1]Law L, Beckman Rehnman J, Deminger A, Klingberg E, Jacobsson LTH, Forsblad-d’Elia H (2018) Factors related to health-related quality of life in ankylosing spondylitis, overall and stratified by sex. This paper intends to explore further about the widow empowerment activities carried out by the Women Farmers Group (KWT) located in Giri Mulyo Village, Kayu Aro Barat District, Kerinci Regency. As it is known, KWT Pelangi Kopi aims to improve the lives of the people of Giri Mulyo Village by prioritizing women who are widows. KWT Pelangi Kopi focuses its activities on local agricultural products, such as coffee, oranges, and turquoise eggplants. Agricultural products are processed into various products to sell, so that it can increase the income of the members. This community is important and interesting to study, because the activities / programs they run are closely related to the poverty alleviation agenda and improving people's welfare which is an important agenda of the government, even in all countries in the world. This community has become even more interesting because its members are only women and are also managed by women. Thus, besides being related to poverty and welfare issues, this community is also closely related to women's empowerment.

Abstract Purpose Sleep disturbance is common in meningioma patients and may lead to disease aggravation and decreases health-related quality of life (HRQoL). However, the sleep quality of meningioma patients newly diagnosed and ready for surgery has not been well clarified in China. This study aims to evaluate the prevalence, correlates, and impact of sleep disturbance among Chinese meningioma patients. Methods In this cross-sectional study, meningioma patients were recruited from the Affiliated Hospital of Nantong University from January 2020 to November 2020. A series of questionnaires were applied: the 0–10 Numerical Rating Scale (NRS), the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS), the Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory (MFI-20), the Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS), the Short-Form 36 (SF-36), the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Independent samples t test, Mann-Whitney U test, chi-square analysis, Pearson/Spearman correlation, and binary logistic regression were used to analyze the data. Results 100 meningioma patients completed the questionnaires. Sleep disturbance affected 43% of the meningioma patients and was linked to many concomitant symptoms, such as headache, fatigue, anxiety and depression. Binary logistic regression indicated that fatigue and headache were predictors of sleep disturbance in meningioma patients. Meanwhile, severe sleep disturbance led to lower quality of life. Conclusions These findings demonstrated that a considerable number of meningioma patients newly diagnosed and ready for surgery suffered from sleep disturbance, potentially contributing to impair HRQoL. Medical personnel should pay more attention to meningioma patients with sleep disturbance and take effective measures to improve sleep quality, with the ultimate goal to improve their HRQoL.

The phenomenon of poverty is a serious problem faced by almost every country in the world. This is because poverty can affect various aspects of people's lives. One of the causes of poverty is due to lack of income and assets to meet basic needs such as food, clothing, housing, health level and acceptable education. In addition, poverty occurs because of the powerlessness of society to get out of the problems it faces. The Central Java regional government incorporated poverty issues into the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) because Central Java has a high number of poor people. This was done as an effort by the Central Java government to reduce poverty. Therefore, research is needed to find out the variables that most influence poverty in order to assist the government in developing the RPJMD. To find out what factors influence poverty in Central Java with the dichotomous categorical response variable, binary logistic regression analysis was used. The results showed that based on the analysis conducted did not obtain a logistic regression equation model because there were no significant parameters because there were no variables that had a sig value <0.05. Existing variables are Number of Population, Female Head of Household, Number of Children not in School, Number of Disabled Individuals, Number of Chronic Disease Individuals, Unemployment, Non-Electricity Lighting Sources, Unprotected Drinking Water Sources, Kerosene and Wood Cooking Fuels, Location Facilities Defecation (BAB) Not Available, so there are no variables that affect the level of poverty in Central Java Province.

In Sub-Saharan Africa, agricultural commercialization is a major factor in household food diversification and household income. To move to agricultural transformation, Rwanda has focused on shifting from subsistence-based farming to market-oriented agriculture. Various studies have been conducted on agricultural commercialization, however, women’s role in the commercialization of agriculture has received little attention and none of the studies have associated it with women’s empowerment in agriculture. In Rwanda, women are principal players in agriculture and food security, therefore, it is important to understand the influence of their empowerment in agriculture on its commercialization. To investigate the relationship between women’s empowerment in agriculture and agricultural commercialization, the Women’s Empowerment in Agriculture Index (WEAI) was used to measure women’s empowerment in agriculture. A sample size of 252 households from Musanze and Burera districts in the Northern Province of Rwanda was used. It was obtained using the multistage and random sampling techniques. To analyze data, a fractional regression model was used. The results revealed that farm commercialization in Rwanda was positively and significantly influenced by WEAI score, farm size and the prices of maize, potatoes and beans. On the other hand, the index has a negative relationship with access to extension services. It is recommended that the government should strengthen policies of empowering women in agriculture.

Consumers’ preference for local rice determines its demand. Therefore, the study was carried out to analyze consumers’ preference for local rice among households in Ekiti State. A multi-stage sampling procedure was used to select respondents for this study. A total of 240 women were randomly selected from three Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the State. Primary data were obtained with the use of a well-structured interview schedule. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics as well as inferential statistic like logistic regression. The mean age of the respondents was 38 years and more than half (53.3%) of the respondents were females. Most (70.0%) of the respondents had a mean family size of 7 persons. Most (87.0%) preferred local rice and factors influencing consumers’ preference for local rice include good nutritional value, quality of rice and good taste. Local rice was very much preferred by the respondents. Logistic regression shows that significant influence exists between price, taste, availability of rice and presence of particles and preferred choice of rice. Therefore, efforts should be made by the government to formulate price control policy on local rice for its affordability by the consumers and there should be improvement on processing technology of local rice to eliminate presence of particles for improved quality and good taste to enhance the consumers’ preference for choice of rice. Also, the government should support farmers through provision of incentives and credit facilities so as to produce more local rice for its availability all year round.

Statistics show that the number of female students enrolled in public universities is higher than male students. However, this scenario is very different from the involvement of women in the economic sector because the statistics of women's involvement in the economic sector are low and not as high as the statistics of female student enrollment to university. Therefore, this paper intends to examine the issue of gender equality and women's empowerment according to Islamic law and the situation in Malaysia. This paper will also analyse the factors that lead to the lack of women's involvement in the economic sector in Malaysia. The discussion adopts the qualitative research method by examining the issue according to the perspective of Islamic law as well as the perspective of law and the current situation in Malaysia. This paper finds that there is still no clear mechanism that should be implemented to address the issue of gender equality. Therefore, all parties including the government and employers must be more progressive in formulating a policy system that can address the issue of gender equality and women's empowerment. In the meantime, this study also suggests that the government should follow the recommendations by the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) so that the issue of gender equality can be addressed immediately.

Purpose Guided by the resource-based theory, the purpose of this study was to predict the role of football talent in the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) rankings of the men’s national football teams in the Copa America zone. Design/methodology/approach The study used archival data of Copa American national football teams. The dependent variable was FIFA rankings, and the independent variables were football talent (measured by the stocks of amateur footballers, professional footballers and football officials). Statistical analysis was performed using Kendall tau statistic and binary logistic regression. Findings The binary logistic regression results indicated that FIFA rankings were statistically and significantly associated with the stock of football officials and professional footballers – but not amateur footballers. The predictive model explained 80 per cent of the variance. Research limitations/implications The study focused exclusively on the stock of football talent in each nation, and not alternative determinants of national football team competitiveness as economic power and quality of professional football leagues, among others. Practical implications The stocks of professional footballers and football officials are valuable sources of competitive advantage (CA) in national football team rankings. Originality/value The study highlighted the uniqueness and distinctiveness of a nation possessing large stocks of professional footballers which can boost the CA and rankings of Copa American national football teams.

Poverty is an inability to meet basic needs measured by expenditure, including rice consumption. Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), as much as 95% of Indonesia's population consumes rice as the main food, with an average rice consumption of 102 kg/person/ year (BPS, 2013). Furthermore, BPS stated that almost 1/4 of them or around 25.95 million people were included in the category of the poor population as of March 2018. So the government made a policy to tackle the problem through the program of giving poor family rice (Raskin), namely subsidized rice assistance to households poor. However, in the implementation of the Raskin program, there was a deviation of around 40% of Indonesia's population with a middle-upper social-economic status receiving Raskin and 12.5% of the population with a socio-economic status upon receiving Raskin. Therefore this study aims to analyze the significant factors that affect the status of rice in poor families using binary logistic regression analysis. The location of the study was conducted in the District of West Langsa because the district was one of the districts receiving the most Raskin in the City of Langsa. The data used in this study are primary data and secondary data. The results of the analysis show that the factors that influence Raskin's acceptance status are the level of education, type of floor, type of fuel, expenditure for food, and frequency of purchasing new clothes. The binary logistic regression model obtained is
