In this 21st–century, students are expected to have current competencies in which one of them is science process skills. The aim of this research was to empower science process skills through the SETS-based guided experiment book. This Posttest Only Control Group Design study involved 50 students of fifth grade which divided into two groups i.e. 25 students as the experimental group and 25 students as the control group. The activities were carried out for three months outside of school. The empowerment of science process skills was measured from the increasing scores before and after the implementation of the SETS Guided Experiment Book. The results showed that there was a significant different between experimental group and control group as the significancy value was 0.01 (sig. < 0.05). This means that the SETS-based guided experiment book can empower Science process skill of elementary school students.

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of Science Technology Society (STS) learning in high school students of class XI IPA. This research is a quasi-experimental research using posttest only design. The sample used is 64 students from Senior High School in Bantul district, Yogyakarta. Samples were obtained using purposive random sampling. Data were collected using posttest value to determine the effect of Science Technology Society (STS) learning and using Student Worksheet to know student ability. The data were analyzed by using ANOVA. The results showed that Science Technology Society (STS) study had significant effect, with a significance value 0,043 (p<0,05). Based on these studies, it can be concluded that the learning Science Technology Society (STS) influential in students’ science process skills.

This research discusses the influence of teaching methods and ability of self- confidence of the science process skills. This research was conducted at the State Elementary School fifth grade of City of Serang. The study design using analysis of variance 2 lanes (ANOVA). The results of this study were (1) the difference in science process skills of elementary school students who learn using Discovery methods between students who learn using Inquiry methods (2) The interaction between  the  learning  methods  and  self-confidence  of  students  to  the  science process skills Elementary School Students. (3) The science process skills between student elementary school students who learn by using Discovery methods which has self-confidence high is higher result than the students who learned by using Inquiry methods who has self-confidence high  (4) The science process skills of elementary school students between students who learn to use Discovery methods that have self-confidence low is lower result than the students learn to use the Inquiry methods that has self-confidence low

This research was motivated by the low process skills of elementary school students. The purpose of this research was to improve the process skills of elementary school students by using PBL. This research is a class action research using Mac Taggart design consisting of planning, implementation, observation and refleskis. This study consisted of 2 cycles with the number of students as many as 30 students. Data collection techniques use observation sheets. The results stated that there was an improvement in the process skills of elementary school students using the PBL model from the results of cycle process skills 1 getting a score of 66.67 increased in cycle 2 getting a score of 83.33. The implications of this research can serve as the basis for teachers in developing the process skills of elementary school students.

Abstract: The effect of the application of experience-based learning to increase understanding and science process skills of elementary school students in learning science. This study aimed to determine the effect of the use of experience-based learning that uses inquiry and experimental trials of traditional (verification) in science teaching in elementary school to the improvement of Science Process Skills students on a simple plane material in class V. This study uses quasi-experimental. Based on the results of the N-gain calculation Science Process Skills for the experimental class of 0.44 with the category of Medium and the control grade of 0.08 with the low category. Keywords: Experience Based Learning, Science process skills, Science EducationAbstrak: Pengaruh penerapan pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman terhadap peningkatan kemampuan memahami dan keterampilan proses sains siswa sekolah dasar pada pembelajaran IPA.
