Background: Hypodontia or congenitally missing teeth is among dental anomalies with different prevalence in each region. The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of congenitally missing permanent teeth in Aseer region population. Materials and Methods: A descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional study was done. Panoramic radiographs of 1050 patients (370 girls and 680 boys), 12-40 years old, were collected. The radiographs were studied for evidence of congenitally missing teeth. Data were analyzed using Paired t-test, Mann-Whitney test, Fisher exact test and Chi-square test (0.05). Results: Prevalence of congenitally missing teeth was totally 7.42%. The most frequent congenitally missing teeth was mandibular second premolars (28.21%) followed by maxillary second premolars (25.64%). Upper jaw showed significantly higher number of congenitally missing teeth (P value 0.001). According to Chi-square test, congenital missing teeth were found approximately 7.42% in both females and males and there were no statistically significant difference between sexes (P 0.19). Conclusion: The prevalence of congenitally missing teeth (CMT) in Aseer region permanent dentition was 7.42%. The most common congenitally missing teeth were mandibular second premolar fallowed by maxillary second premolars.

Background and Objectives: Estimation of dental age is based upon the rate of development and calcification of tooth buds and their progressive sequence of eruption in the oral cavity. The tooth calcification provides a valuable indicator of dental age and serves as an index of the maturation of the child. The aim of this study is to determine whether Body Mass Index (BMI) has association with dental maturation. Materials and Methods: A cross sectional study design was applied for the present study, 383 school children were participated in this study which nominated from Erbil city. For the sample to be representative the city was divided in to six geographic areas according to the municipalities, the samples randomly selected school children of 10 to 14 years old from both genders. The height and the weight of each participant had been recorded in the college of dentistry / Hawler Medical University in order to calculate the body mass index of the following the guidelines of centers of disease control (CDC) , at the same time an orthopantomography radiograph had been used to investigate the stage of the dental maturation using the Demirjian method, finally, the relationship between BMI and dental maturation were investigated using chi square test with P value of ≤ 0.05 was considered significant difference. Result: there was a statistically significant relationship between dental maturation and BMI. The majority (93.6%) of samples with under-mature dentition were under-weight at the same time. The vast majority (96%) of samples with mature dentition had normal BMI. In the same manner, majority (91.7%) of samples with over mature dentition were over-weight too. Chi square test was used to find out the association and P-value was 0.001 Conclusion: In conclusion, normal weight students have normal dental maturation, underweight students have under dental maturation and overweight or obese students have over dental maturation. The permanent first molars teeth are susceptible to  caries after eruption. According to parents, the teeth still has suffering, and they do not notice it. In research at 2012 said the children 9 years old had a high permanent molar caries teeth with percentage of 67%. This study aims to determine the relationship of mother knowledge abouteruption of M1 permanent teeth with M1 caries at SDN 05 PuhunPintuKabundistrict of Bukittinggi. This research used Analytical survey method with cross sectional design. The research population of all students of SDN 05 PuhunPintuKabunfor amount 120 students. The sample is saturated sampling that is the whole population used as the respondent with permanent dental calculation and eruption and present time of research. Data were collected by examination of single student molar caries and filling in questionnaire by mother. Data analysis using chi square test. The results of this research that the most knowledge of mother’s knowledge on the less appetizing is 58%, and good knowledge 9%. Number of students given permanent M1 of 51% and 49% do not caries.  Chi square statistic test P value: 0.565 (p> 0.05) means that there is no correlation between knowledge about permanent M1 eruption with M1caries. It is advisable to students who have permanent M1 to perform dental fillings.

Cognitive function varies in each human being, from simple to complex, requiring attention, concentration, and coordination. Cognitive is related to a person's ability to think, solve problems, organize and also to communicate and interact with others and the environment. Methods: cross-sectional research, samples involve the students of medical faculty of Unissula-Semarang with GPA less than 3 and more than 3 graduated in 2018, instrument Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE). Descriptive analysis and Chi-square test. Results and Discussion: samples are 56 students, the highest gender is men (51%), the range of age 18-21 years old (53.6%), the number of GPA is the same as the one below and above 3 there are 28 (50%). Test Chi Square gender difference with P value of 0.422 GPA gender does not have significant difference to the GPA, based on the age of the results of T-test p-value 0.000, showed age had significant difference to the GPA, where the age is getting younger GPA is getting better, based on the scores of MMSE test, it was obtained p 1.000, MMSE score has no significant difference with the GPA. Conclusion: Gender and MMSE value have no difference with GPA, there is difference between age and GPA, the younger the students the better GPA the students achieve.

Computers and microscopes are tools used by workers at PT. NPCB, in the quality control and screening section. When working using the tool within> 4 hours can cause tension headaches in the muscles. This study aims to determine the comparison of the incidence of muscle tension headaches between computer users and microscopes. This type of research is quantitative and analytic with the cross-sectional approach. Respondents are 33 people who use computers and 34 microscopy users at PT. NPCB Batam City in 2019. Computer users and microscope users are measured on their headache scale using the VAS questionnaire. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariate. Bivariate analysis records the frequency distribution of each variable. Bivariate analysis using the chi-square test. From the chi-square test results showed no significant difference in the incidence of muscle tension headaches between computer users and microscope users with a significance value (Pearson value) of 0.957 (p> 0.05). The comparison of the VAS value of Computer and Microscope users is 4.73: 4.41 with a p-value of 0.523. Based on this study it can be concluded that there is no significant difference in the incidence of muscle tension headaches between computer users and microscopes.

Abstract Objective: To investigate the differences in the congenital missing teeth pattern in terms of tooth type (permanent maxillary lateral incisor [MLI] and maxillary second premolar [MSP]) and sidedness (cleft vs noncleft) between boys and girls in Korean unilateral cleft lip and alveolus (UCLA) and unilateral cleft lip and palate (UCLP) patients. Materials and Methods: This study used the charts, models, radiographs, and intraoral photographs of 90 UCLA patients and 204 UCLP patients (ages 6 to 13 years). Binomial test, chi-square test, Fisher exact test, maximum likelihood analysis of variance, and the odds ratio were performed. Results: According to the relationship between the congenital missing teeth pattern and the cleft type, the UCLP patients had 2.98 times more missing MLIs and 1.80 times more missing MSPs than did the UCLA patients. The MLI was congenitally missing more in boys than in girls, but the MSP showed the opposite tendency. Boys had a higher frequency of congenital missing MLIs and MSPs on the cleft side than did girls. However, on the noncleft side and both sides, girls had a higher frequency of congenital missing MLIs and MSPs than did boys. Results showed a gender-dominant pattern of congenital missing MLIs and MSPs. Conclusion: These results suggest that gender and cleft type might affect the congenital missing teeth pattern in terms of tooth type and sidedness.

The kind of research that was utilized in this study was an analytical questionnaire. In this study, a cross-sectional design was employed to collect data. Sixty-six individuals were included in the samples that fulfilled the requirements. The findings revealed that 1) the midwife's attitude toward promoting exclusive breastfeeding at the UPT Puskesmas (Community Health Center) Mare had no impact on the outcomes of the study. The results of the chi square test revealed that the p-value was 0,089, indicating that the hypothesis was correct (0,05). There is an association between midwife assistance and an increase in exclusive breastfeeding at the University of Puskesmas Mare, according to the findings of the chi square test (p-value =0,007 for exclusive breastfeeding at the UPT Puskesmas Mare) (0,05). The rise in exclusive breastfeeding at the UPT Puskesmas Mare may be attributed to the midwifery program, according to the findings. The results of the chi square test reveal that the p-value is 0,0002, which indicates a significant difference (0,05). 4) Midwife assistance had a 12,7-fold higher impact on the rise in exclusive breastfeeding, with a p-value of 0.028 0.05 for the effect of midwife support. The midwife program, on the other hand, had a moderate impact on the rise in exclusive breastfeeding, with a p-value of 0,038 0.05 and a moderate effect of 11,1 times on the increase in exclusive breastfeeding.

The mandibular first molars are one of the first permanent teeth to erupt; thus, it remains the longest in terms of exposure to cariogenic pathogens. Also, its anatomical location and structure make it a prime location for dental caries (DC) but hard to access for cleaning. Thus, we aim to compare its incidence in adults and teenagers because the identification of the most susceptible age for tooth decay is key in prevention and prophylaxis against the same. A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted by reviewing and analysing the data of 86,000 patient records from June 2019 to April 2020. Patients with treated mandibular first molars were selected from the age group of 13 and above. A Microsoft Excel 2016 data spreadsheet was used to collect data and was later exported to the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences for Windows (Version 20.0, SPSS). The number of males with DC in their mandibular first molar (59%) was higher than that of the females (41%). The highest number of cases were reported to prevail in the 'Young Adults' group, with 56.7%, followed by the 'Middle Adults' with 26%. This shows that adults have a higher incidence of DC in their mandibular first molars than teenagers. Also, there was a clear incidence of 46 having a higher incidence than caries in 36. (52.5% > 47.5%). There is an association between age and incidence of dental DC as proved by our Chi-Square Test, where we obtained a 'p' value of p<0.05, making it statistically significant. Once lost, our teeth cannot be naturally replaced, making prevention imperative. Thus, identifying the age in which we are most prone to decay is a great leap forward. But since the study does present with limitations, further research needs to be done to confirm the same.

Abstract One of the government’s efforts to reduce MMR, which is still high, is the implementation of the Antenatal Care (ANC) program at the primary health center (PHC). Besides, the government also accredits PHC to improve the quality of health services starting in 2015, so it is hoped that ANC achievements will increase. This study aims to determine the relationship between accreditation status and ANC achievements in PHC. The study design was cross-sectional with a sample of 103 accredited PHC. The distribution of PHC samples is seen based on the 2013 Public Health Development Index (IPKM) categorized as low, medium, and high. Analysis of the relationship between accreditation status and the K4 achievement program used the chi-square test. The results of this study indicate that the majority of the PHC in the sample are distributed in areas with a high and medium IPKM areas. The relationship between accreditation status and K4 achievement showed a value of p = 0.034. The logistic regression results showed that when compared with primary - complete accredited PHC, basic PHC had OR = 0.224 (95% CI: 0.064 - 0.786) with p = 0.020 to the proportion of K4 achievements. Meanwhile, the middle PHC had OR = 0.517 (95% CI: 0.146 - 1.828) with a p-value = 0.306. This study concludes that the accreditation status of PHC is related to the proportion of K4 achievements. The proportion of K4 achievements increases with the increase in the level of PHC accreditation. A basic accredited PHC has a chance to achieve K4 by 0.224, lower than a primary – complete accredited PHC. There was no significant difference between middle accredited PHC with primary - complete PHC for the proportion of K4 achievement Abstrak Salah satu upaya pemerintah menurunkan AKI yang masih tinggi adalah dengan pelaksanaan program Antenatal Care (ANC) di puskesmas. Selain itu, pemerintah juga melakukan akreditasi puskesmas untuk meningkatkan mutu pelayanan kesehatan yang dimulai tahun 2015, sehingga diharapkan capaian ANC meningkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan status akreditasi terhadap capaian ANC di puskesmas. Desain penelitian ini adalah crosssectional dengan sampel penelitian sebanyak 103 puskesmas terakreditasi. Sebaran sampel puskesmas dilihat berdasarkan Indeks Pembangunan Kesehatan Masyarakat (IPKM) tahun 2013 dengan dikategorikan sebagai IPKM rendah, sedang, dan tinggi. Analisis hubungan status akreditasi dengan program capaian K4 digunakan uji chi-square. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan mayoritas puskesmas yang menjadi sampel terdistribusi pada wilayah dengan IPKM tinggi dan sedang. Hasil analisis chi-square hubungan antara status akreditasi dengan ketercapaian K4 menunjukkan nilai p=0,034. Hasil regresi logistik menunjukkan bahwa jika dibandingkan dengan puskesmas terakreditasi utama-paripurna, puskesmas terkareditasi dasar mempunyai OR = 0,224 (95%CI: 0,064 - 0,786) dengan nilai p = 0,020 terhadap proporsi capaian K4. Sedangkan puskesmas terkareditasi madya mempunyai OR = 0,517 (95% CI: 0,146 - 1,828) dengan nilai p = 0,306. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah status akreditasi puskesmas berhubungan dengan proporsi capaian K4. Proporsi capaian K4 meningkat seiring meningkatnya satus akreditasi puskesmas. Puskesmas terakreditasi dasar mempunyai peluang untuk tercapaianya K4 sebesar 0,224 lebih rendah dibandingkan puskesmas terakreditasi utama - paripurna. Tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara puskesmas terakreditasi madya dengan puskesmas terakreditasi utama-paripurna terhadap proporsi capaian K4.

The main problem of dental and oral health in children is dental caries. Both primary and permanent teeth have a risk of caries, but the decay process of primary teeth spreads more rapidly, extends and is more severe than permanent teeth. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the socioeconomic status of parents and the incidence of primary dental caries in children aged 4-5 years in Kuok Village. This type of research is analytic with cross sectional design. The population in this study were all children aged 4-5 years and parents in Kuok Village with a sample of 406 people. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique with a sample size of 40 people. The data collection tool used was a questionnaire with univariate and bivariate data analysis using the chi square test. The results of statistical analysis obtained a significant value of p value = 0.033 (p value ≤ α 0.05). This means that there is a significant relationship between socioeconomic status and the incidence of primary dental caries in children aged 4-5 years in Kuok Village. Parents should pay more attention to their children's dental health. Parents should routinely check their children's teeth at a dentist or health service facility every 6 months.

Background and Objectives: Human identification is the forensic odontologist’s primary duty in the fields like violent crime, child abuse, elder abuse, missing persons and mass disaster scenarios. In each context, dental traits may produce compelling evidence to aid victim identity, suspect identity and narrow down the outcome of investigative casework. Sometimes it becomes necessary to apply some least known and less popular techniques in identification procedure where lip prints, rugae patterns and canine odontometrics can give us comparatively valid conclusions pertaining to person’s identification. This study elucidates the significance of cheiloscopy, palatoscopy and canine odontometry in sex prediction and discrimination. Materials and Methods: A cross- sectional study involving a total of 60 subjects, 30 males and 30 females were selected from the outpatient department of oral medicine and radiology. Lip prints were recorded using lipstick, palatal impressions were taken with alginate and odontometric measurements were taken with digital vernier calipers from every subject. All the obtained records were analyzed by two observers. Results: Reliability of lip prints was assessed using Kappa coefficient. Comparison of rugae patterns was done using Chi-square test. Mean canine and inter canine width was compared using t test. A p-value of <0.05 was considered significant. Statistically significant difference was found with the different lip print patterns analyzed in males and females, while no significant difference was observed in the rugae patterns but a significant difference in the mesio-distal width of mandibular canines in males and females was found with right mandibular canine(3.73%) showing greater sexual dimorphism compared to left mandibular canine(3.06%). Conclusion: This study shows the uniqueness of the lip prints and rugae patterns with the lip prints showing sensitivity of 81.7% giving reliable prediction of sex over palatoscopy. Hence, cheiloscopy along with the canine odontometrics aid in sex determination and can be considered as an ancilliary forensic tool in identification.
