Posters for cinematic festivals are an effective visual artistic way to address recipients (the audience), with their functional, aesthetic and expressive dimensions that contribute to spreading a variety of cultural awareness, especially those posters that specialize in their media and advertising performance, promotional and organizational, and cultural activities specified at certain time. Based on the foregoing, the researchers found that her research problem is summarized by the following question: What are the design structure variables in the designs of the film festival posters? The research consisted of four chapters as follows: The first chapter includes the research problem and the goal of the research, which is studying the variables of the design structure in the international film festival posters. As for its importance (theoretical importance / practical importance), the research limits (objective / spatial / temporal) and also include the most important terms. The second chapter includes the theoretical framework that the researcher divide into two topics, the first topic includes (the structure in the poster). As for the second topic (the variables in the poster structure) as well as previous studies and the most important indicators reached by the researcher, the third chapter includes research procedures that includes determining the method followed in analyzing samples for their scientific relevance in diagnosing the researched phenomenon, and the research community and the adult (6), and selecting a sample The research number (3) models after repeated exclusion from them, then the research tool, honesty and consistency. As for the fourth chapter, it includes the results of the research, conclusions, recommendations, and proposals, and the most important findings of the researcher were as follows: 1. The employment of the idea resulted in a fundamental variable in the structure of the poster, as the ideas differ according to the subject presented, in addition to the different idea from one designer to another. This is due to its frame of reference, which has a major impact in building the innovative idea that contributes to the presentation of the content. 2. Modern technologies have achieved the emergence of effective results in the design structure as an output variable that enhances the effectiveness of communication channels, and that this action has influential characteristics that have the ability to attract attention and direct impact on the recipient through the various technical treatments that the designer performs in constructing the poster and activating the role of technology in the structural display of the poster design elements. Either conclusion includes: 1. Structure variables are mainly related to the content of the design idea with the suitability of use, which is based on variable technical stylistic data.

Drawing on data from well-known actors in popular films and TV shows, this reference guide surveys the representation of accent in North American film and TV over eight decades. It analyzes the speech of 180 film and television performances from the 1930s to today, looking at how that speech has changed; how it reflects the regional backgrounds, gender, and ethnic ancestry of the actors; and how phonetic variation and change in the 'real world' have been both portrayed in, and possibly influenced by, film and television speech. It also clearly explains the technical concepts necessary for understanding the phonetic analysis of accents. Providing new insights into the role of language in the expression of North American cultural identity, this is essential reading for researchers and advanced students in linguistics, film, television and media studies, and North American studies, as well as the larger community interested in film and television.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to examine the role of the Official Scrutineer in the annual film awards ceremony of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), a role currently occupied by the audit firm Deloitte. The case of BAFTA provides an illustrative example of the increasing demand for discretionary assurance services from audit firms (Free et al., 2009), which in turn is reflective of Power's (1997) “audit society”. It showcases the power of audit as a legitimating tool. The paper seeks to understand the role of the auditor as assurance provider by drawing upon Goffman's (1959) dramaturgical framework. Viewing the auditor as “performer” and a range of interested stakeholders (BAFTA voting members, sponsors, award winners and industry commentators) as the “audience”, this theoretical lens facilitates insights into the nature of assurance provision. Design/methodology/approach – The paper gathers interview data from within the case organization (BAFTA), it's Official Scrutineers (Deloitte), BAFTA voting members, sponsors, award winners and film industry commentators. Findings – Drawing on Goffman's (1959) work on impression management to inform its theoretical argumentation, the analysis of results from 36 interviews indicates that Deloitte are highly effective in delivering a successful performance to their audience; they convey a very convincing impression of trust and assurance. The paper therefore suggests the importance of performance ritual in the auditor's role as assurance provider. Additionally, it argues that such a performance may be particularly effective, in the eyes of the audience, when played by a well known audit firm. Originality/value – The paper highlights the expanding territorial scope of assurance provision by audit firms. By focusing on a glamorous media event, it also furthers an understanding of the role of accounting within the domain of popular culture.

Playwrights in the West remain under threat not only from the ever-increasing dominance of the director and the loss of autonomy carried over from film and television, but from sheer economic deprivation – which makes playwriting impossible as a full-time profession for most of its members. Is the best way to remedy this the assertion of collective responsibility and power advocated in this country by the Theatre Writers Union, or by a frank acceptance that artistic strength is seldom likely to be matched by economic or ‘political’ power – as James L. Rosenberg now argues? NTQ does not necessarily endorse the viewpoint here expressed, but feels that it is a forceful statement of a ‘new realism’ about the role of the playwright in the likely western future – in this respect also making an illuminating contrast to the foregoing article by Zygmunt Hübner. The author, James L. Rosenberg, is a widely-performed American dramatist, who has also translated numerous plays from the German, and is presently Visiting Professor of Theatre at Williams College. Although Georges Auric (1899–1983) is best remembered today for his affiliation with the Groupe des Six, his musical career was long, productive, complex, and intimately attuned to the realities of modern life. His polyvalent career—as a composer of concert, theatrical, ballet, popular, film, and television music; music critic; opera director; and arts administrator—reveals a diversity of engagements that speak to a reconfiguration of the role of the composer in the modern world. Auric was a product of his time, with deep connections to France’s artistic, social, and political elites. At the same time, he drew on his prestige and privilege to improve the country’s musical life in tangible ways, whether with regard to musical education and accessibility or to the establishment of fair copyright laws. He took artistic collaboration, already a hallmark of the short-lived Groupe des Six, to a level that surpassed any of the other members of that group. Diverging from the romantic trope of individual creation, Auric’s legacy troubles conventional ideas of what it means to be a composer.

The purpose of this article is to study the psychological impact of Chinese film and television works in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language at intermediate and advanced levels, analyze the role of Chinese film and television works in teaching Chinese as a foreign language at intermediate and advanced levels, and to understand the basic situation and influence of Chinese film and television works in teaching Chinese as a foreign language at intermediate and advanced levels, as well as their use this method contrasts before and after the study of the influence of Chinese film and television works in teaching Chinese as a foreign language at intermediate and advanced levels. Using the method of this article, through the analysis of experimental data, I understand the role of Chinese film and television works in teaching Chinese as a foreign language at intermediate and advanced levels, and find that Chinese film and television works play an important role in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. Based on the combination of theory and experimental data, it is analyzed that the effect of Chinese film and television works on teaching Chinese as a foreign language is very good. The research results show that Chinese film and television works have an important role in teaching Chinese as a foreign language at intermediate and advanced levels. Contemporary Chinese film and television not only impresses foreigners with vivid stories and vivid characters.

This article addresses the hidden professions of television production through examining the role of the First Assistant Director (1st AD). Drawing on ‘industry talk’, this article examines the ways in which the role of the 1st AD is understood as central to the film and television production process but regarded as overlooked or lacking in status and visibility. Examining how 1st ADs position themselves and are positioned as both invisible and visible is an opportunity to examine how the 1st AD understand and challenge their status as hidden professionals.
