Multiparameter analysis of simultaneous optical data for 3D disperse systems (consisted from nano- and/or microparticles of different nature) by information-statistical methods can help to estimate the share of different types of particles in mixtures. At the solution of inverse optical problem for unknown poly-component 3D DS, the comparison of measured parameters with the known ones from the set of mono-component 3D DS can help to identify the component content of the system under study. The approach was tested on the biomineral water mixtures of kaolin clay and bacterium coli bacillus with the help of the program based on the information-statistical theory. To solve the impurity optical recognition tasks, the Base of optical data for 3D DS is needed.

Research in education is often associated with comparing group averages and linear relations in sufficiently large samples and evidence-based practice is about using the outcomes of that research in the practice of education. However, there are questions that are important for the practice of education that cannot really be addressed by comparisons of group averages and linear relations, no matter how large the samples. Besides, different types of constraints including logistic, financial, and ethical ones may make larger-sample research unfeasible or at least questionable. What has remained less known in many fields is that there are study designs and statistical methods for research involving small samples or even individuals that allow us to address questions of importance for the practice of education. This article discusses one type of such situations and provides a simple coherent statistical approach that provides point and interval estimates of differences of interest regardless of the type of the outcome variable and that is of use in other types of studies involving large samples, small samples, and single individuals.

In globally, cancer is a second leading disease next to cardiovascular diseases in non-communicable diseases, which affect the all ages, sex, social status, ethnicity and primary cause of illness related death. Traditionally, systemic delivery drug systems like chemotherapy via oral capsule, injections of nanoparticles/micro particles, immunotherapy and others, which can inhibit or halt the progression of tumors. The short half-life of drugs which cannot achieve the targeted dose level to the tumor site and not able to target desired cell and commonly produces the organ toxicity. Recently, researchers have been attempting to direct delivery agents for cancer therapy. One of the best methods is a local therapy system, which deliver the drug directly via implantable procedure and it’s achieved the maximum concentration of the desire drug at the tumor site, non-target systemic exposure and minimize the organ toxicity to the patients. Biomaterial implants are widely used in the local concurrent delivery of chemotherapy and anti-angiogenic agents, local delivery of poly-chemotherapy, gene therapy as an alternative to drug delivery, scaffolds for cancer immunotherapy and polymer-based composites of drug molecules. There are different types of polymers like poly anhydride poly [bis (p-carboxy-phenoxy) propane-sebacic acid] copolymer [p(CPP:SA)], fatty acid dimer-sebacic acid copolymer (FAD-SA), poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) copolymer (PLGA), poly (ε-caprolactone) (PCL), poly (glycerol monostearate-co-caprolactone), alginate and silica, used in successively cancer therapy. In order to minimize the risk of unwanted side effect of different types of biomaterials implants, it’s biocompatible to reduce the ability to elicit the inflammatory effect to the implanted area or the site. Therefore, the key role of choosing the appropriate and biocompatible implants to particular therapy is an indispensable. This should be validated with respect to risk benefit ratio in case of cancers. Biomaterial based implant local delivery systems provide more versatile and tailorable approach to against treatment of different types of the cancer.

In a computer science curriculum, the data structures course is considered fundamental. In that course, students must generate the ability to desingn the more suitable data structures for a problem solution. They must also write an efficient algorithm in order to solve the problem. Students must understand that there are different types of data structures, each of them with associated algorithms of different complexity. A data structures laboratory is a set of computional tools that helps students in the experimentation with the concepts introduced in the curse. The main objetive of this experimentation is to generate the student's needed abilities for manipulating complex data structure. This paper presents the main characteristics of the laboratory built as a sopport of the course. we illustrate the huge possibilities of the tool with an example.

The present contribution analyzes the linguistic realization of the Problem-Solution pattern, the Question-Answer pattern and the Claim-Response pattern (Hoey 2001) in a sample of US written newspaper editorials and opinion articles. The objectives pursued are twofold: to explore how these textual patterns interact in the newspaper opinion genre and to unveil the kind of writer-reader relationship this interaction reflects. To achieve these goals, sample texts were analyzed first for the three textual patterns under consideration, and then the patterns themselves were characterized by identifying their most frequent textual components (e.g. Problem, Solution, Evaluation, Question, Answer, Claim, Affirm, etc.). Findings reveal different types of interaction among text patterns, which respond to different persuasive strategies unfolded by writers to achieve their communicative objectives. Results presented here can be of interest to researchers in discourse analysis and written communication.

Uncertainty analysis methodology in complex system models requires a comprehensive treatment of many different types and sources of uncertainty sources. Proposed methodology as part of a broader research by the authors for an integrated methodology for uncertainty analysis of TH computational codes, allows updating of uncertainties upon availability of new information about inputs, models or output. This methodology is a statistical approach for output-based updating, with non-paired data. The proposed method employs a Gibbs MCMC sampler to estimate output distribution. Winbugs code was developed to implement the Bayesian solution proposed in this paper. The methodology is applied to the data from 200% cold leg LBLOCA test of LOFT facility [4].

AbstractThis article concerns five French prepositions that mark an inclusion relation and are ordinarily considered to be synonyms of dans ‘in’. The first is a simple preposition: parmi ‘among’. The other four are complex prepositions built from nouns of internal location (au centre de ‘at the centre of’, au milieu de ‘in the middle of’) and from names of body parts (au cœur de ‘at the heart of’ and au sein de whose word-for-word translation is ‘at the breast/bosom of’ but stands for ‘within’ ‘in’ or ‘among’ depending on the context). We will examine them from two different, yet complementary points of view. As part of a statistical approach, we use an association measure to determine the distributional trends of each preposition. In addition, we explore in greater detail the semantic mechanisms brought into play using the theoretical framework of Cognitive Grammar. This double analysis leads us to demonstrate that these prepositions are far from synonymous and involve very different types of constraints.

Information retrieval (IR) systems like content delivery portals (CDP) help users to complete processes like searching tasks. However, these systems are facing difficulties like a lack of context or an abundance of content within the required information. An approach to solve this problem is the creation of microDocs with semantic correlation rules (SCR). The objective of this paper is to examine the realization of SCR in CDP according to use cases by focusing on the impact SCR have on the effectiveness of CDP for IR. SCR can be implemented in various creation systems. Furthermore, the paper focuses on the exemplary development of SCR in a component content management system (CCMS). Therefore, a system-based evaluation was conducted. In addition a test collection, following an ontology and a corresponding metadata architecture was created to evaluate the impact of SCR on CDP. The evaluation includes three systems, representing the different types of CDP. It uses methodology precision and recall, as well-fitting methods for the intended purpose. To conclude and finalize, testing results will be summed up, interpreted and the findings will be provided with an outlook.

The vast literature on discourse analysis includes many studies which investigate different types of texts and attempts to identify the properties that characterize them. The present study proposes an analysis of the narrative aspect in decoration discourse with the aim of revealing the textual features and organization that are uniquely utilized by this type of discourse and to clarify facets of similarities and differences from traditional narratives. The study explores the utilization of the problem-solution pattern and the goal-achievement pattern to communicate the intended message. Language with its pragmatic aspects plays an essential role in the construction and interpretation of such narratives. The database includes a variety of narratives extracted from different decoration and household magazines. Sharing experiences through narratives serves a broader function of establishing certain norms and standards to be followed by the majority of the population. By abiding to these norms, individuals strive to be affiliated to a particular social standard; the one intended by authors and publishers of these magazines.

A questioning strategy is proposed for teaching primary-level children about text organization or structure, such as cause-effect, comparison-contrast, and problem-solution. Once students can reliably identify different types of organization, they are taught to ask questions appropriate to each type to guide their learning. A cognitive-strategy instruction model is used as the vehicle for teaching children through modeling by a teacher, interactive discussion, and practice with corrective feedback. In addition, students are taught how to monitor the process, so responsibility is transferred from teacher to student. Some questions demand searching for answers in the text. Others are more complex, demanding integration of textual elements and use of personal knowledge for answering questions.
