STUDY ON SLAUGHTER ACTIVITY OF BABIRUSA (Babyrousa babirussa celebensis DENIGER) AS THE ENDEMIC FAUNA IN NORTH SULAWESI AT THE SEVERAL TRADITIONAL MARKETS IN MINAHASA REGENCY. Babirusa (Babyrousa babyrussa celebensis D.) is categorized as a valuable germinal plasma and included into protected fauna since sixty years along a go. Therefore, this animal was noted into endangered animals. However, the hunting activities of the local community are occurring in the remote area of Minahasa as indicated by availability of meat trading of this animal. The objective of this study was to evaluate the slaughter activities dealing with meat trading of this endemic fauna on several traditional markets in Minahasa regency. Study was conducted by survey method focusing on hunters, traders and consumers buying meat of this animal on several traditional markets in Minahasa regency. Results showed that meat of Babirusa (Babyrousa babyrussa celebensis D.) were still traded and found on several traditional markets in Minahasa regency indicated by hunter existences of 0 to 25 percents, meat sellers of 8.33 to 50 percents, and fixed meat consumers of 58.33 to 100 percents of this animal. These cases were spreading on the traditional markets around districts of Tondano, Remboken, Kawangkoan, Langowan and Tanawangko. As the conclusion that slaughters and trading activities of the protected Babirusa (Babyrousa babyrussa celebensis D.) were existing recently in the remote areas of Minahasa Regency.Key words: Babirusa (Babyrousa babyrussa celebensis D.), endemic,  traditional market.

Abstract This study aims to find out what the purpose of decision making salted fish stocks in the traditional markets of Manado and knowing how decision making salted fish stocks by traders in Manado traditional markets. The method used in this study is a survey method. The variables measured in this study are the inventory (kg), demand (kg/year), wide stall (m2) and applicable fees (Rp). To determine the factors that influence the decision of salted fish stocks used multiple regression analysis Y= a + b1X1 + b2X2 + b3X3. Decision-making salted fish inventory made by the vendors that supply salted anchovies continue maintained so that it can continue to meet market demand. Linear regression equation for making salted fish stocks in a Manado traditional market North Sulawesi is Y = 0.016 + 0.393 X1 + 0.185 X2 + 0.397 X3 with the relationship of R2 is 0,887 . Variable number of requests (X1), wide stall (X2), and applicable fees (X3) jointly affect the variable amount of salted fish stocks (Y). Variables that significantly influence the inventory decision (Y) is the number of requests (X1), wide stall (X2), and other applicable fees (X3). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei. Variabel-variabel yang diukur dalam penelitian ini adalah persediaan (kg), permintaan (kg/tahun), luas lapak (m2). dan biaya pemesanan (Rp).Untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi keputusan persediaan ikan asin digunakan analisis regresi berganda Y= a + b1X1 + b2X2 + b3X3.Pengambilan keputusan persediaan ikan asin dilakukan oleh para pedagang agar persediaan ikan asin asin terus terjaga sehingga dapat terus memenuhi permintaan pasar. Persamaan regresi linear untuk keputusan persediaan ikan asin di Pasar tradisional di Kota Manado Provinsi Sulawesi Utara yaitu Y= 0,016 + 0,393X1 + 0,185X2 + 0,397X3 dengan keeratan hubungan R2 0,887. Variabel jumlah permintaan (X1), biaya pemesanan (X2), dan luas lapak (X3) secara bersama-sama mempengaruhi variabel jumlah persediaan ikan asin (Y). Variabel yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keputusan persediaan ialah jumlah permintaan (X1), luas lapak (X2), dan biaya pemesanan (X3). PROFIT ANALYSIS OF PORK RETAILERS BASED ON CONSUMER PREFERENCES IN TRADITIONAL MARKETS IN MANADO CITY.This study aims to analyze the level of profit and its ability to generate profit (profitability) by the pork retailers on  traditional markets in Manado City. This research was conducted using a survey method, where the sampling method was purposive sampling toward 31 samples of pork seller. To meet the goal of this studi, revenue cost ratio and profit margin  analysis was implied.  Based on the results of the study it was found that the average overall cost of the business of retailers of pork components per week was IDR.22,558,822. with a total total cost of IDR. 699,323,491. The amount of carcass and non carcass sales of pigs based on consumer preferences averaged 398 Kg/week or 70.40 percent, while non carcasses sold an average of 168 Kg/week or 29.60 percent. The amount of sales based on consumer preferences in traditional markets in the city of Manado was IDR.848,890,000 per week with an average of IDR.27,383,548.39/week per retailer. The amount of profit according to the number of sales based on consumer preferences both carcass and non carcass of pig per week in the traditional market of Manado City was IDR.848,890,000 per week or an average of IDR.27,383,548.39 per week for each retailer. The amount of gross profit of pork retailers in the traditional market of Manado City was IDR.149,566,509 per week or an average of IDR.4,824,726 per week, while Gross Profit Margin was an ability to obtain profits based on the number of sales, which was 18%, which means average the average sales of both carcasses and non carcasses of pork according to consumer preferences provide gross profit of 18 percent per week.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to find out: strengths/weaknesses, environmental opportunities/threats encountered by traditional market; traditional market business position; and a proper business strategy to be applied by traditional market and its implication on the marketing strategy. Design/methodology/approach The population in this research was policy makers in Bali Province, in relation to the development and revitalization planning of traditional market, and traders doing their activity in a traditional market. The data analysis used internal and external strategic factor matrix (IE). Findings Key external strategic variables that pose both current and future threats are information technology, bargaining power with buyers and competitors. The key internal strategic variables which are included both present and future strengths are product quality, product variety offered, uniqueness of products offered, affordable product prices, bargaining process, strategic market location, service speed and vast parking lot. Based on the business position of the present Denpasar traditional market which is in quadrant V, while in the future it will be in quadrant II, the strategy properly applied is the proper competition strategy to be grown and built. Research limitations/implications The research was only conducted to traditional markets in Bali, thus it cannot be generalized to wider areas, and this research used the survey method where the data collection process was done in a certain point of time or cross-section, whilst the environment would experience extra quick changes. Therefore, it is important to do this research in the future. Originality/value The originality for this paper shows the comprehensively development strategies, revitalization strategies in traditional market, by using strength weakness opportunity threat and IE matrix analysis, and research location which is conducted in Bali that has different tourist condition and potentials from other regions.

PROFIT ANALYSIS OF THE BAT BUSHMEAT TRADER IN THE TRADITIONAL MARKET IN AMURANG AND MODOINDING DISTRICKS OF SOUTH MINAHASA REGENCY.           This study aims to analyze how much profit bat traders make in traditional markets in South Minahasa Regency. This research was conducted using a survey method and analyzes the level of business profit and its ability to generate profit (profitability) in bat meat dealers in traditional markets in the South Minahasa Regency. The results of this study show that the total cost of bat dealers reached an average of IDR 3.800.068. with an average acceptance of bat traders of IDR 4.898.438 per week. The total profit per bat dealer per week was IDR 849,557. with a gross margin of the traditional Amurang market of 0.13 and the traditional Modoinding market of 0.29.

The history of moneylenders has long been recorded in the journey of Indonesian people in general and in almost all regions in particular. In the city of Batam, this phenomenon is increasingly thick in traditional markets, due to trading activities that occur every day and a very high cash circulation. This research was conducted in the traditional market of Nagoya Baru Jodoh, a sample of 42 respondents who dug up data on how traders make loans to moneylenders who have been around for years in the midst of traders. The research approach was carried out qualitatively by the survey method by distributing questionnaires containing 36 statements to measure traders' perceptions about the factors influencing considerations in credit application decisions. Then the data is processed using SPSS version 21 with descriptive and inductive statistics using multiple linear regression analysis and moderating variable analysis. The results of this study are that partially, irrational and rational considerations have a significant effect on the decision to submit credit with a significance value of 0,000 and 0.024 respectively, while simultaneously also a significant effect with a significance value of 0,000. The moderating variable test shows a significance value of 0.146 or greater than 0.05 which means that the rational consideration factor has not been a barrier for traders to keep deciding on credit applications.

Broiler meat is one of the most common sources of animal protein consumed by Indonesians. This study aimed to determine the physical quality of broiler meat including pH value, water holding capacity, and cooking losses of broiler meat in the traditional market of Bandar Lampung city. This research was conducted in December 2019--January 2020. This research used a survey method using 79 samples of breast broiler meat. The sample was from 13 traditional markets in the city of Bandar Lampung (Rajabasa market, Untung market, SMEP market, Koga market, Way Kandis market, Way Halim market, Tugu market, Tamin market, Kangkung market, Cimeng market, Lempasing market, Gudang Lelang market, and Panjang market). The variables observed in this study included degree of Power of Hydrogen (pH), water holding capacity (WHC), and cooking losses. The results of this study indicated that the highest pH value (6.04) was from the Lempasing market, the lowest pH value (6.138) was from Gudang Lelang market, the highest WHC value was from the Lempasing market which was 58.13%, the lowest WHC value was from Way Kandis market which was 52.76%, the highest cooking loss value was obtained from the SMEP market which was 31.48%, and the lowest cooking loss value was obtained from the Rajabasa market which was 27.29%. It can be concluded that the pH value and cooking loss were still normal with an average range of 6.138-- 6.304 and 27.29--31.48%, respectively, while the average range of water holding capacity was in high category (52.76--58.13). This study about shopping behavior changes from traditional markets to modern market in the  Manado city is viewed from the aspect of sociology. This study used a qualitative approach. The results showed that the shopping behavior of most citizens of Manado city has changed shopping habits in traditional markets into shopping habits in the modern market. Everyone in the economic measures based on efficiency considerations that revolve around efficiency of money and space also efficiency of time and energy. Before someone decides to shop, his views always consider the fourth aspect of it, and then decided to act. Thus the action is determined by the orientation to the person's environment that is tailored to the needs inherent in him. Then someone can act as he wishes. Most citizens of Manado city construct behavior of shopping habits in traditional markets into shopping habits in the modern market. The peoples leaving the characteristics of cooperation and confidence in social economy action trough activity in the traditional market began to fade, tend to behave consumerist, individualistic, laden competition, but innovation and creative. The pattern of this kind of action can be a collective action at the subjective macro level. This means that changes in individual behavior of Manado city residents at a certain level in line with the rapid development and progress of science and technology, will have implications on fundamental social changes in the structure of social behavior overall Manado city residents. Manado, will become a city inhabited by modern society with a consumption-oriented economic measures or commonly known as the consumerist society.

The term, 'inang-inang pasar' is referred to Bataknese market female vendors who sell basic commodities in the traditional urban markets. They have the image of hard working and tough vendors who fight against poverty in towns. Their activities as vendors in traditional markets indicate their strategic role of women as the agents of economic resilience and the agents of health security in their families. Here, their toughness in supporting their families by being vendors at Sembada traditional market, Medan. However, their toughness becomes a dilemma caused by Covid-19 pandemic. In this case, the government implement prokes (health protocol) from 3Ms to 5 Ms (wearing masks, washing hands, doing social distancing, avoiding crowd, and staying home), including in the area of the traditional markets where they sell their merchandise. The Prokes of Covid-19 in traditional markets have caused various responses from them. The reality is that they have not been ready to practice the policy on this 5 M Prokes since most of them lack of awareness of adhering to it due to the vulnerable of their health habitus. It seems that they can become the carriers and local transmitters of Covid-19. This situation worsens their condition and the people surrounding them such as their own family members.
