A review of studies of practitioners of software development reveals a depth of mismatch between their needs and formal education. The conclusion to be drawn is that industry has made a long-term shift in its requirements of graduates from technical subjects, laying emphasis on personal and affective attributes. Concern has been expressed that the underlying “socialisation” requirement for a graduate to achieve “working professional” status is very poorly addressed in formal education. After establishing a framework for comparison between information technology (IT) formal education and industry requirements, this chapter discusses an action research study based on applying nontraditional and innovative learning models to address mismatches identified. Results suggest that models which focus on independent learning and soft skills prepare students to enter industry with the ability to engage in the career-long, professional learning required for success in professional practice.

The purpose of this study was to determine student learning outcomes using the Snowball Throwing method on the subject of the Muhammadiyah Academy in Madarasah Aliyah Muhammadiyah 1 Medan. This research is expected to be useful for teachers, schools and future researchers. For teachers, the results of this study are expected to be useful for teachers to improve teaching skills, especially in terms of innovative learning models. The methodology in this research is field research that is obtained through classroom action research (CAR) or called classroom action research. This research method uses two cycles. In the first cycle consists of the planning phase (planning), the stage of action / implementation (action), the stage of observation (observation), and the stage of reflection. Then in the second cycle carried out after learning in the first cycle was analyzed and reflected in order to correct the deficiencies that existed in cycle I. The results showed that the Class X learning outcomes using the Snowball Throwing model were higher than those who did not use them.

One of effort to solve the low reading skill of students is through the implementation of innovative learning models. This research aims to enhance primary students’ reading comprehenssion by implementing CIRC model within printed media. This research used collaborative action research of Kemis & Mc Taggart model. Participants of this research were 20 students at one of primary school in Karangpucung Sub-district. Researcher employed teacher as opponent participant to implementing action research and obtain supplementary dataTechnique of collecting data used  observation, interview, test, and observation and interview is used to obtain data about the implementation of research. Meanwhile, test is used to measure students’ reading comprehenssion skill. Researcher analyzed data with three steps namely data reduction, displaying data, and drawing conclusion. In addition, triangulation technique is used to validating data. The research outcome showed the enhance of reading comprehenssion skill in each cycle. Based on the research outcome, researcher concludes that the implementation of CIRC model within printed media can enhance reading comprehenssion skill of primary students.

Abstract   The training in making tricks in the form of Classroom Action Research aims to help overcome the problems of the teachers in MA Al-Hidayah in the case of the difficulty of making PTK-shaped tuis work. In addition, this training can also increase knowledge for teachers so that the level of professionalism of teachers in MA Al-Hidayah is higher. The method used in this training is to use lecture, discussion, direct demonstration, and mentoring methods The method of reflection and discussion is applied when delivering the basic principles of implementing classroom action research; the demonstration method is applied when delivering material for innovative learning models and making instructional media; the guidance method is applied during the process of making a paperwork in the form of a PTK. The instrument used to see the success of the training program was the participant's questionnaire response sheet. Based on the results of the questionnaire distributed, it was found that each training conducted ≥75% of the trainees had a very good understanding of the material delivered during the training. In addition, the final results of this training are in the form of written product in the form of CAR as many as 20 works created by the trainees themselves.   Keywords: Training, Tricks of Writing, and PTK   Abstrak   Pelatihan trik pembuatan karya tulis berbentuk Penelitian Tindakan Kelas ini bertujuan untuk membantu mengatasi permasalahan guru-guru di MA Al-Hidayah dalam hal kesulitan pembuatan karya tuis berbentuk PTK.

At present the world is entering the era of industrial revolution 4.0 which is closely related to information technology on the basis of human life (Kemenristekdikti, 2018a). With these changes, of course the world of education must also immediately respond to these changes. The steps that can be taken is by integrating information technology with innovative learning models. As a teacher in the Indonesian era 4.0 gave birth to a term known as Teacher 4.0 Challenges & Requirements. To become a 4.0 teacher must have 3 components, namely: 1) Human - Based & Didactical Challengee; 2) Organizational Challengee and 3) Technological Challengee. (Abdelrazeq, 2016). To support these competencies, one of the learning models that can be used is the STEM-based learning model. STEM Education is a combination of areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) (Duran, et al., 2016). This paper aims to: 1) explain the perception of information technology and STEM learning for prospective economic teachers. 2) describes the efforts to integrate Information Technology and STEM-based Learning Models in the face of the Age of Industrial Revolution 4.0. Keywords: Industrial Revolution Era 4.0, Information Technology, and Innovative Learning Models, STEM, Teacher Competencies 4.0.

Companies are organised to fulfil two distinctive functions: efficient and resilient exploitation of current business and parallel exploration of new possibilities. For the latter, companies require strong organisational infrastructure such as team compositions and functional structures to ensure exploration remains effective. This paper explores the potential for designing organisational infrastructure to be part of fourth order subject matter. In particular, it explores how organisational infrastructure could be designed in the context of an exploratory unit, operating in a large heritage airline. This paper leverages insights from a long-term action research project and finds that building trust and shared frames are crucial to designing infrastructure that affords the greater explorative agenda of an organisation.

AbstractAutomatic bird detection in ornithological analyses is limited by the accuracy of existing models, due to the lack of training data and the difficulties in extracting the fine-grained features required to distinguish bird species. Here we apply the domain randomization strategy to enhance the accuracy of the deep learning models in bird detection. Trained with virtual birds of sufficient variations in different environments, the model tends to focus on the fine-grained features of birds and achieves higher accuracies. Based on the 100 terabytes of 2-month continuous monitoring data of egrets, our results cover the findings using conventional manual observations, e.g., vertical stratification of egrets according to body size, and also open up opportunities of long-term bird surveys requiring intensive monitoring that is impractical using conventional methods, e.g., the weather influences on egrets, and the relationship of the migration schedules between the great egrets and little egrets.
