Curation of Your Online Persona Through Self-Care and Responsible Citizenship

With each blog post, tweet, and online project, internet users are building their online reputation whether they want to or not. In the absence of professional branding, users' online presence contributes vastly to what brands them. Through critical digital pedagogy, teachers and students question all technology practices (e.g., self, school, society). This chapter addresses the safety, security, and perception of their online data through self-determined prevention, weeding, and branding based on their short- and long-term goals. Methods, resources, and a lesson plan are provided as guidance to support students' wellbeing pertaining to the online dimensions of their academic and personal lives. Strategies discussed include online identity system checks to review current digital footprint and data vulnerabilities, contemplation of technology usage in terms of self-care and responsible citizenship, and curation and development of their online persona. These participatory practices address two of the ISTE Standards for Students regarding digital citizenship.

<p>Website Terms of Service and Privacy Policy documents are the delivery methods employed by online services to inform internet users of how information is treated on their platform. When users fail to read or understand these documents, many issues can arise. These issues take shape in the form of unwillingness to use services, misunderstandings of how online data is treated, and/or user concerns for personal privacy. Currently, the leading factors influencing user motivation to read these documents include (but are not limited to) document length, complicated language, and time required to read. To encourage users to engage with these documents, this research investigates the delivery methods service providers use to present these legal documents online. During the course of this investigation, the proposal of a new method of presenting website Privacy Policies to users is explored. This tool, ‘Re: Privacy’, was developed with the aim of increasing user awareness of online data treatment, whilst minimising the factors that dissuade users from reading the official document. Published alongside Re: Privacy is a comprehensive analysis of website legal documents and user understanding of these documents. This analysis also provides an investigation into user understanding of current website legal documents, and how user understanding can be improved.</p>

This chapter defines and outlines many aspects of self-care and renewal and how various practices have tremendous benefits to both teachers and students. Furthermore, self-care and renewal practices when promoted consistently can have a great impact on the school climate as a whole, but especially for students impacted by trauma. Both authors provide personal anecdotes pertaining to self-care and renewal to dive deeper into the topic. The role of the school leader as well as the teacher/leader relationship is explored including aspects of leadership that promote self-care and renewal. To round out the chapter, controversies and opposing viewpoints to self-care and renewal practices in schools are examined. The overall purpose of this chapter is to illustrate the importance of self-care and renewal and the dramatic impact promoting it can have on the school and all those in the school environment.

In this essay, authors Lawson, Caringi, Gottfried, Bride, and Hydon introduce the concept of trauma literacy, connecting it to students' trauma and educators' secondary traumatic stress (STS). Interactions with traumatized students is one cause of STS; others derive from other traumatic encounters in schools and communities. Undesirable effects of STS start with professional disengagement and declining performance, include spill-over effects into educators' personal lives, and, ultimately, may cause them to leave the profession. The authors contend that alongside trauma-informed pedagogies and mental health services for students, mechanisms are needed for STS prevention, early identification, and rapid response. To benefit from and advance this dual framework, educators need a trauma-informed literacy that enables self-care, facilitates and safeguards interactions with trauma-impacted students and colleagues, and paves the way for expanded school improvement models.

           This study describes: (1) process of writing anecdote text based on the 2016 revised curriculum conducted by Indonesian Language teachers to the tenth graders of SMKN 1 Gondang, Sragen, (2) problems in the process of writing, and  3)  efforts to overcome the problems made by the teachers. This qualitative research uses case study approach. The data sources in this research were events (the process of writing anecdote text), informants (teachers and students), and documents (syllabus and lesson plan). The results show that teaching to write anecdote text based on the 2016 revised curriculum needs more in-depth evaluation in order to improve planning, implementation, and assessment. It is also based on the encountered obstacles occurred in the learning process. The evaluation should uncover concepts, regulations and national education objectives implied in the curriculum the schools should attain.

The purposes of this study is to describe (1) the analysis of teacher's difficulties in developing and designing the fourth grade thematic design of SD N Jarakan Bantul Yogyakarta in academic year 2017/2018 and (2) the solution to overcome the difficulties faced by teachers in throwing thematic learning of fourth grade students SD N Jarakan Bantul Yogyakarta in academic year 2017/2018. This research is a qualitative research. This research is a qualitative research that is conducted in SD N Jarakan Bantul Yogyakarta. The subject of the research are principal, teachers, and students. Data collection technique use interview, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques use data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that (1) the teacher's difficulties in developing the fourth grade thematic design of SD N Jarakan Bantul Yogyakarta to determine the time allocation, assessment, learning of students, developing lesson plan. When designing the learning process the teacher also faces difficulties because while the teacher's learning still beheads one of the subjects. Teachers also have difficulties when made the syllabus. (2) The solution that can be used to face the difficulties of the teacher is by conducting regular meetings through KKG activities, conducting the training, and learning activities are not glued by teacher book, but in learning teacher should pay attention to basic competence and the implementation requirements of thematic learning.

This research aims to evaluate the planning, implementation, and learning outcomes of French in Senior High School Sleman Regency based on Permendikbud Number 22 Year 2016 and Permendikbud Number 4 Year 2018 about Teaching and Learning Assessment based on 2013 Curriculum at Senior High School/Madrasah Aliyah. This evaluation research uses a quantitative descriptive approach with a countenance model from Stake. Respondents in this research were teachers and students at Senior High School of 1 Kalasan, Senior High School of 1 Depok and Senior High School of AngkasaAdisucipto. Data collection techniques use, research lesson plans, questionnaires, and documentation. The results of this research indicate that: (1) French learning planning is included in the excellent category with results of Lesson Plan reaching 88.9% and the results of the teacher questionnaire of 26.6 who entered in the very good category. Then it has been found that there is a compatibility between the Lesson Plan with the applicable process standards; (2) the implementation of French Learning included in both categories with the acquisition of a total score of 77 and a student questionnaire of 66.19 and there is a match between the implementation of learning with the standard of learning implementation; (3) learning results show good results with an average of 86.38 and the results of the teacher questionnaire of 65.7 which is above 61. Student scores are obtained from the results of the middle Semester Assessment and teacher questionnaire.

Internet fraud takes a number of forms with the responsible individuals changing tactics rapidly to avoid detection. The perpetrators rely on telemarketing, emails, as well as presenting themselves personally to unsuspecting people. The evolution of internet marketing as well as ecommerce and the ease of connectivity create increasing opportunities for fraudsters while at the same time placing more unsuspecting internet users at risk of falling prey to these schemes. There exists a thriving economy online with large sums of money changing hands online. It is therefore important for any internet user to easily identify when they are exposed to internet fraud schemes and as such avoid being a victim.

Malaysian Ministry of Education (MOE) has created initiatives in the Malaysian Education Blueprint (2013- 2025 that aim to increase teachers’ and students’ competencies in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects and create learning experiences that will prepare students for the considerable array of STEM career fields. There are so many effective instructional practices suggested in integrating STEM education for teaching Mathematics. However, there are some factors that need to be concerned in producing effective instructional practices in teaching Mathematics. This study investigated the factors affecting instructional practices of mathematics since the implementation STEM education. Using a descriptive design method, a questionnaire was administered to 100 students and 50 mathematics teachers in Klang Valley. The overall mean score of all four factors (Lesson plan and implementation, Mathematical discuss and sensemaking, task implementation, and classroom culture) measured in this study is moderately high based on students’ and teachers’ perspectives. Teachers rated all factors higher than students’ rate. Both teachers and students agreed that classroom culture is the important factor. There are no significant differences in the mean score of factors among gender of students and teachers. There is a significant difference in the mean score of factors among the achieving abilities among the students. In 2016, Kompas initiated a new journalistic product, namely news writing, a type of longform journalism called Virtual Interactive Compass (VIK). This platform is designed in such a way as to present in-depth news writing and enriched with interactivity elements from the multimedia aspect. Millennials are one of the young generation who live in the digital era and online networks. The Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII) declared this generation as the most internet users as of October 2016. The purpose of this study is to find out what factors are becoming millennial interest in VIK through four aspects, namely modality, accessability, interactivity, navigability. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with case study method. Data collection techniques in this study used in-depth interviews, literature studies, and also online data search. The results of this study are changes in the form of in-depth news writing type preferred by the melenial generation, VIK longform journalism news presentation is considered informative and interesting with multimedia elements by millennials, and millennial generation is proven in daily use of gadgets, as well as finding information. Di Tahun 2016, Kompas menggagas sebuah produk jurnalistik baru yaitu penulisan berita jenis longform journalismyang diberi nama Virtual Interaktif Kompas (VIK). Platform ini dirancang sedemikian rupa untuk menyajikan tulisan berita yang mendalam dan diperkaya dengan unsur interaktivitas dari aspek multimedia. Kaum Milenial merupakan salah satu generasi muda yang hidup dalam era digital serta jaringan online. Asosiasi Penyelenggara Jasa Internet Indonesia (APJII) menyatakan generasi ini sebagai pengguna Internet terbanyak per Oktober 2016. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ingin mengetahui faktor apa yang menjadi ketertarikan generasi milenial pada VIK melalui empat aspek yaitu modality, accessabillity, interactivity, navigability. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan wawancara mendalam, studi pustaka, dan juga penelusuran data online. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah perubahan bentuk penulisan berita mendalam jenis longform disukai oleh generasi melenial, penyajian berita longform journalism VIK dinilai informatif serta menarik dengan unsur multimedia oleh milenial, dan generasi milenial terbukti dalam kesehariannya selalu menggunakan gadget, begitu juga dalam hal mencari informasi.
