The purpose of the chapter is to show to what extent university-based teacher training programs reflect the new educational standards required by the reform applied to the Romanian higher education system. Specifically, it attempts to analyze the relevance of the curriculum that forms the basis of the language teachers' preparation focusing on its content, structure, and educational aims and purposes. It also tries to highlight the degree to which such programs meet not only learners' needs but also the ones of today's society. Last but not least, the study aims to identify what elements resulted from the Romanian educational reform could be useful for the researchers interested in the field of initial language teacher training.

Becoming a nurse requires development of professional capabilities, specifically socialisation into the profession and developing a professional identity (PI). A search of the literature highlights a lack of empirical research in PI development during pre-registration nursing education. A range of factors will be explored that relate to PI, including identity, professional socialisation, a sense of belonging to the profession and clinical placement. Exploring the development of a PI in nursing students can assist with identifying drivers and inhibitors. The aim of this paper is to describe PI development in pre-registration nursing students’ education and the relationship between development of a PI and the tertiary provided education. There are a multitude of factors that impact on developing a PI such as identity, professional socialisation, belonging, clinical placements and educators. Nursing students predominantly develop a nursing PI in the pre-registration program with professional socialisation through exposure to academia, clinical practice and role models. The onus of responsibility for developing a PI in nursing students is attributed to educational institutions. An expected outcome of the pre-registration program is that nursing students will have formed a PI. A greater depth of understanding PI is important in supporting the education of the nurses of the future. There may not be one simple explanation for what PI is, or how it is developed, but a greater depth of understanding of PI by both the tertiary sector and the nursing profession is important in supporting the education of the nurses of the future. Further research will enable a dialogue describing the development of a PI in nursing students and an understanding of the attributes and conceptions attributed to a nursing PI.

The process of studying pedagogical disciplines in this direction almost wasn‟t researched. But the disciplines of the pedagogical cycle next to literature, history, culture hide in themselves an extraordinary educational potential, which under certain conditions could be aimed at successfully forming the future teacher‟s personality. This determines the relevance of the topic we have chosen. The educational process provides a consequence when its semantic component is evaluated not only through “the eyes of the curriculum”, but also through “the eyes of students”, their interests, the problems concerning them, needs, and value orientations. With this approach, it ceases to be a purely cognitive process, becoming personally significant. However, a successful consequence must be preceded, the purpose is set - the teacher's content focus of and actions are not only on the instrumental sphere of personality, but also necessarily on motivational value. Such a purpose becomes the compass that directs its action to the result (those positive changes in the structure of the personality that are a productive consequence).

This paper tries to show a present vision in teacher´s training based on communication and information technologies (CIT) and to present an example of how a diagnostic questionnaire is drawn up to detect teachers-to-be´s needs and knowledge in different subjects. The useful aspects of these technologies are evident. That´s why the future teacher needs to have a knowledge of critical aspects and to show their advantages and disadvantages, because the communication and information technologies are not only a simple didactic tool, but also resources to learn, which help the teaching process for the teacher and the learning process for the student.

The article is based on the idea of conjugation between social and personal factors in the preparation of a teacher of Physical Education (PE). It creates the conditions for building a harmonious relationship with the surrounding world, finding one’s place in society, vocational orientation, formation of readiness for adaptability and mobility in the future vocational activity. The conditions, ensuring the formation and development of vocational mobility of the future teacher of PE in the socio-cultural educational space of high school, are dialogization, taking part of the future experts in project activities at various levels.  We have considered the process of formation and development of vocational mobility of the future expert in the social and cultural educational space of high school within the framework of the continuing education system. The concept of continuing education involves the inclusion of dialogue relationship, which contributes to the formation and development of vocational mobility of the future teacher of PE at all levels: knowledge, skills, creativity, experience in value and emotional orientation. The transition from one level of formation of vocational mobility to the other one in the socio-cultural educational space of high school is provided by the realization of the complex of strategic conditions and pedagogical tactics (pedagogical support, educational accompaniment, enhance social and vocational values), which contribute to the development of the readiness of the future teachers of PE to changes, innovations in the process of vocational activity. Teacher-training has been developed through a complex weave of processes, models and theories, founded on experiences in educational settings. In 2015, the Academia Class program was added to teacher-training programs in Israeli academic colleges and universities and added new ways of thinking about student teachers’ practical experience. The program was widely implemented and became the flagship for teacher-training processes in Israel. As part of the program, student teachers and education students in their third year of studies participate in broad practical training for 12-16 weekly hours (for a year) in various educational institutions. Some of the changes engendered meaningful insights and processes that helped to reshape training processes. This article is derived from qualitative research that was involved in forming new models in teacher training, and offered an improved and enhanced approach to clinical practicum. Traditional pedagogic instruction is based on a “triangular instruction model” (student/teacher trainer/pedagogic instructor). The present study aims to expand this model by offering a new “pentagonal model.” The pentagonal model incorporates the following roles: student/coach-teacher/pedagogic instructor/coordinator teacher/academic instructor. The proposed model creates an ecosystem based on teacher-training processes and reinforces reciprocal connections, and different figures in new roles. It aims to connect the loose ends among the various participants involved in the practicum process in a more comprehensive and holistic manner. The practicum is performed in real time in the education field, in a clinical manner and is very meaningful for the future teachers’ work. Research method: Qualitative action research, documenting the expansion of the practical experience model at Ohalo College in northern Isrel. The proposed model is based on the authors’ experience from the past five years, as recorded in protocols, and work papers, as well as many meetings and discussions. It is important to emphasize that the model was tested and gradually improved, becoming refined through a dynamic process using feedback between the college and its students, and between the teachers and the instructors and pedagogic instructors. Participants included more than 500 students, 500 school and kindergarten teachers, and 40 pedagogic instructors, instructors, lecturers and others in relevant roles. The theoretical framework for the model relies on the concept of Pedagogic Content Knowledge (PCK), which emphasizes and reinforces pedagogic activity in the context of disciplinary knowledge content. In our opinion, the implementation of the model according to the approach described below creates a stable foundation for the student teacher practicum, in a manner appropriate given the current winds of change. The model should be applied in conjunction with essential changes in structural and behavioral policies necessitated by the Academia Class program.

The influence of extracurricular educational activities at the university on prospective teachers professional identity development has been grounded on the basis of literature on psychology and education analysis, as the influence reflects the professional identity related to axiological definition of life in profession and a semantic system uniting determination of oneself and ones profession. The authors define professional identity, teachers professional identity, a complex of methods evaluating students professional identity development dynamics, and clarify the scientific concept of extracurricular educational activities at the teacher training university. In this work it is understood as an interaction of teachers and students outside the learning process aimed at students personality formation as a subject of prospective professional teachers work, professional identity, self-perfection, self-education and self-development. Extracurricular educational activities at the teacher training university are regarded by the authors as a part of prospective teachers education and professional training. The empirical studies of the professional identity carried out by the authors reflect the role and place of extracurricular educational activities at the teacher training university, as well as their forms and methods for the development of the researched object. Forms, methods and ways of extracurricular educational activities at the teacher training university promoting prospective teachers professional identity development were identified and verified experimentally. The recent study makes it possible to assume that the prospective teachers professional identity results from extracurricular educational activities at the university.
