An evaluation scheme of skywave radar coverage of ship target is researched. On the basis of fifteen kinds of indexes of the skywave radar coverage, a sort of model of coverage quantitative evaluation with three levels of hiberarchy is established by means of the modified analytical hierarchy process (AHP) based on grey relational grade (GRG), the quantitative calculation method of all level indexes is discussed, and the effectiveness ofthe model is verified. This method solve the problem in AHP effectively. The result shows that the evaluation scheme of skywave radar coverage is feasibility.

The influence of the distribution parameters of asperities, i.e. mean radius of curvature of asperities β, density of asperities η, and standard deviation of asperity heights σ, on the contact fatigue life of gears is first studied in this paper. Based on the elastic–plastic contact model of asperities, the surface contact pressure and subsurface stress field during the gear meshing process are calculated by the iterative calculation method. According to the multi-axis fatigue life model, the calculation method of fatigue life under different distribution parameters of asperities in the gear meshing process is obtained. The quantitative calculation results of fatigue life and measured distribution parameters of asperities are analyzed. The relationship between the fatigue life and the distribution parameters of asperities on the measured gear surface is calculated and analyzed quantitatively. The following conclusions are drawn: (1) when the roughness value Ra is less than 0.3 µm, the contact fatigue life of gears with rough surfaces is close to that of smooth surfaces; (2) when the roughness value Ra ranges from 0.5 µm to 0.9 µm, the contact fatigue failure occurs near the surface (micro-pitting); (3) under the same roughness value Ra, the contact fatigue life of the gear decreases with the decrease of the density of the asperity and the mean curvature radius of the asperity. The mean radius of curvature of the asperity has a greater influence on the contact fatigue life than the density of the asperity.

The reliability and the accuracy of a quantitative calculation method for obtaining volume fractions of texture components of cubic materials were verified for the reduced ODFs terminated at l max = 22 and at l max = 16. It is concluded that an integrated width of r = ±10° around selected ideal orientations may be used in quantitative analysis of texture components. It is also shown that the conventional peak height method, which does not consider volume fractions, can only roughly give informations about texture components.

The article presents the prepositions’ classification. The aim of the research is to classify prepositions by types and frequency use (quantitative and percentage ratio) in the story genre as a work of fiction (on A. S. Pushkin’s story “The Queen of Spades” in Russian and English). To achieve the goal, it was necessary to solve the following tasks: 1) to study “The Queen of Spades” in Russian and English; 2) to make tables on the prepositions’ types; 3) to build diagrams on the prepositions’ types; 4) to describe the collected information. The author used in the material research: 1) component analysis method; 1. quantitative calculation method; 3) percentage calculation method; 4) classification method. In the course of studying the Russian version there are found prepositions that serve to express such relationship as: spatial, temporal, causal, target, mode of action and object; in English: prepositions of abstract relations (genitive case, dative case, instrumental case, prepositional case, accusative case), spatial, phrasal verbs, temporal, complex prepositions, causal and target. The found prepositions serve as a sample of bilingual texts for discursive activities not only for specialists, but also for those who are interested in problems related to prepositions in Russian and English. According to the study, it can be concluded that a detailed analysis of the tables and diagrams revealed the main characteristics of prepositions, making it possible to distribute them into appropriate groups; to find the main similarities between groups of English and Russian prepositions, as well as the differences between them.
