Three typical one-dimensional (1D)/quasi-1D nanocarbons, i.e. linear carbon chains, carbon nanotubes, and graphene nanoribbons, have been proved to be highly resistant to the oxidation due to the encapsulation inside single-walled carbon nanotubes.
