Abstract VASCO M-50 is a hardenable (martensitic), low-alloy high-speed steel developed primarily for high-strength, high-load components (such as bearings and gears) designed for elevated-temperature service. It may be used at temperatures up to 600 F; this is in contrast to AISI 52100 steel which may be used up to only 350 F. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: TS-278. Producer or source: Teledyne Vasco.

Abstract RED CUT SUPERIOR is a high-speed steel of the 18% tungsten-4% chromium-1% vanadium type. Many consider it to be the best type of high-speed steel for general purposes. It is comparatively easy to fabricate and simple to heat treat. It has a minimum tendency to decarburize and an excellent combination of cutting ability and toughness. Its many uses include drills, reamers, milling cutters, lathe tools, punches, dies and springs for use at elevated temperature. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, tensile properties, and compressive strength as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on forming, heat treating, and machining. Filing Code: TS-355. Producer or source: Teledyne Vasco.

The dry sliding wear tests were carried out on T15m high speed steel with the M-2000 type wear testing machine, and studied the influence of wear performance due to the different loads and speeds on T15m, SEM was employed to analysis the worn surface morphology to discuss the mechanism of wear and tear. The results demonstrated that the mechanisms as well as the wear rate of T15m high speed steel were under different loads and speeds were different. Under the load of 100N, it is oxidative wear, while abrasive wear is the main reason for 150N and 200N. However, under 250N it is converted to serious oxidative wear and fatigue wear.
