Chapter four turns to a more intimate form of affiliation than either nation or community: family. The period from the 1970s onward has produced the greatest concentration of cycles since modernism, because writers embraced the cycle to express the contingency of being ethnic and American. Family, rather than community or time, is the dominant linking structure for many of these cycles, reflecting how immigration laws placed family and education above country of origin. This chapter focuses on the role of family in the production and reception of Amy Tan’s The Joy Luck Club (1989), Julie Alvarez’s How the García Girls Lost Their Accents (1991), and Jhumpa Lahiri’s Unaccustomed Earth (2008). These cycles argue that subjectivity—and by extension gender and ethnic attachments—derives not only from biological relationships but also from “formative kinship,” which originates in shared experiences that the characters choose to value.

Although little detailed consideration has been given to the Treaty of Northampton of 1290 by Scottish historians, it seems to have been implicitly accepted as the sort of treaty which might have been expected in connection with the marriage of two independent rulers at that time. This is in spite of the fact that throughout the twelfth, thirteenth and fourteenth centuries the traditional practice of the rulers of the Angevin and Plantagenet dominions was to rule each constituent part according to its own law and customs. This article examines the reasons why the Scots were not prepared to rely on tradition but insisted on a written promise from Edward I that Scotland would remain independent of England. It also suggests that the treaty is more than a written expression of traditional practice. It has a number of specific clauses which, it is argued, give the treaty the character of a charter of liberties. These were intended to prevent the imposition on the Scots of particular aspects of Plantagenet rule in England which burdened its subjects much more severely than the rule of Scottish kings had burdened the Scots. The Scots' wish to remain independent after the proposed union of the crowns and their struggle to maintain that independence after the death of the Maid are generally seen as manifestations of a sense of community or regnal solidarity. The terms of the Treaty of 1290 suggest that it was not just from a desire to be a separate political entity per se that the Scots fought during the so-called Wars of Independence but also because the Scots were anxious to avoid the more oppressive aspects of Plantagenet rule even before they had experience of this after Edward I's conquest of 1296.

Challenges of assessment might come up from different reasons or circumstances which generate huge obstacles and dissatisfactions for teachers and students in the same time. Meanwhile, teachers of foreign languages see them as barriers or complications due to an effective and reliable assessment. Firstly, this paper elaborates on theoretical part of assessment, as a crucial tool to measure students’ performance of speaking, as a significant English skill, and then it is presented the elaboration of challenge and its sub-challenges during my work as an English assistant at my tutorial classes on a specific course such as “Integrated English Skill III”, particularly focusing on speaking skill. After it, there is an expansion of others’ research done on this issue, supported by different teaching approaches, and relying on others’ work related to such issue. And at the end of this paper it can be found the summary and recommendations, which wereconducted from the empirical research.

The approach of this research is qualitative and descriptive. In this study those who become the subject of research is an informant (key figure). The subject of this study is divided into two main components, consisting of internal public and external public that is from the Board of the Central Executive Board of Gerindra Party, Party Cadres, Observers and Journalists. The object of this research is the behavior, activities and opinions of Gerindra Party Public Relation Team. In this study used data collection techniques with interviews, participatory observation, and triangulation of data. The results of this study indicate that the Public Relations Gerindra has implemented strategies through various public relations programs and establish good media relations with the reporters so that socialization goes well. So also with the evaluation that is done related to the strategy of the party. The success of Gerindra Party in maintaining the party’s image in Election 2014 as a result of the running of PR strategy and communication and sharing the right type of program according to the characteristics of the voting community or its constituents.Keywords: PR Strategy, Gerindra Party, Election 2014

“Crowd sourcing” is a brand new concept which has started to make wave in the field of management'. It refers to the process of outsourcing of activities to an online community or crowd in the form of an open call. Any member of the crowd can complete the assignment who will then be paid for his efforts. This phenomenon is increasingly noticed in the field of advertising where companies have started generating ideas and strategies of advertisement from crowd, for a better realistic approach. The process is speedy and is less expensive in terms of time and money. This paper is an attempt to put light on the various nuances of “crowd sourcing”, the methodologies involved and its impacts related to competitive segment of business. The success mantra of crowd sourcing is the power of crowd that drives the future of management.

Objective: Conspiracy beliefs (also known as conspiracy theories) become more prominent at times of heightened uncertainty and inconsistent or conflicting explanations provided by the authorities for events like terrorist attacks or pandemics, such as COVID-19. This article aims to examine the relevance of conspiracy beliefs for psychiatry in the context of the dynamics of trust and mistrust. Conclusions: Conspiracy beliefs may be situated on a spectrum of mistrust-related phenomena, which extends from healthy scepticism to persecutory delusions. They can be conceptualised as unfounded and fixed beliefs held with strong conviction about harm inflicted by powerful groups on the community or another group of people, usually with preserved insight that these beliefs differ from those that most people have and with reasons for having such beliefs not necessarily being implausible. It is important for conspiracy beliefs to be distinguished from persecutory delusions.

India is currently focusing on providing education for all, and special population like the gifted is being neglected. This is evident in the case of Aditya (IQ 145), a 7-year-old boy, and his parents who after discovering that their child is gifted attempt to meet his unique educational needs. Despite evidence of Aditya qualifying in examination two grades above his age level, the school authorities neither offer acceleration nor provide appropriate resources. This study attempts to delineate the importance of combined efforts of parent, school, and the community in nurturing gifted children. Finally, the researcher makes a few recommendations for parents: (i) create support groups to share parenting experiences; (ii) explore online and local learning resources to educate themselves about giftedness and nurture their children; and (iii) identify mentors in the community or other parents who can support in meeting the educational needs of these children.
