Estimation of construction and demolition (C&D) waste amount is crucial for implementing waste minimization program. Estimation of C&D waste amount generated is a mean in assessing the potential for waste reduction. Thus, a better understanding of C&D waste generation in terms of causes and sources can be achieved. The aim of this paper is to conduct a review on available construction waste quantification methods from previous studies, which have been utilized in certain countries, while attempting to choose the most suitable and applicable method, and to direct future studies for better quantification methods. This review is applicable only for building construction projects and did not include civil/infrastructure, demolition, renovation, and excavation projects. Six quantification methods and/or waste audit tool available from literatures are discussed, which include their limitation and future direction for this study. It is believed that some combination of these quantification methods could make a good impact in accurate numerical estimation of construction waste amount generated in building construction projects. A strong and accurate database as presented by Soliz-Guzman, combined with effective, vital, and resourceful estimation suggested by Jalali’s Global Index (GI), also with the aid of user-friendly software tool like the SMARTAudit could provide an effective and reliable waste quantification.

This paper describes the development of fully-automated synthesis systems for preparing and isolating various kinds of pharmaceutical compounds. The systems are versatile, and are able to perform most of the chemical reactions currently used in organic chemistry, with the exception of hydrogenation which requires high pressure. An additional benefit is the very user-friendly software.

The purpose of this study is to provide easy use of elearning / LBV (virtual learning environment) for educational units in providing formative assessments to students using online learning methods. This research method uses a research and development approach with a qualitative approach. tutors find it more easier to use different templates on the LBV than have been used. This research results in the importance of selecting a User friendly LBV template for LBV, especially for formative assessments

Kata kunci: sampah, green campus, Itenas, pengembangan indikator ABSTRACTWaste is one of the environmental damage factor, especially in campus areas that have a lot of waste generation. One of the efforts to save the campus environment is through the green campus program. To assess the green campus activities, Indonesia has a rating system issued by the University of Indonesia i.e UI GreenMetric, which has waste category. This study aims to develop indicators for waste category and applied at Itenas campus, Bandung. Data required for this research are obtained through observation and literature study and then processed and analyzed by research and development method. The results obtained are the development of indicators and sub-indicators that can be applied on the Itenas campus which can also be applied in other campuses. Keywords: waste, green campus, Itenas, indicators development.

Networks of chemical reactions represent relationships between molecules within chemical supply chains and promise to enhance planning of multi-step synthesis routes from bio-renewable feedstocks. This study aims to identify strategic moleculesin chemical reaction networks that may potentially play a significant role within the future circular economy. We mine a commercially available database in order to assemble a network of chemical reactions. We describe molecules within the network by a portfolio of graph theoretical features, and identify strategic molecules with an isolation forest search algorithm. In this work we have identified a list of potential strategic molecules and indicated possibilities for reaction planning using these. This is exemplified by a potential supply chain of functional molecules from bio-waste streams that could be used as feedstocks without being converted to syngas. This work extends the methodology of analysis of reaction networks to the generic problem of development of new reaction pathways based on novel feedstocks.

A conspectus based upon a compelling topic, namely, versatility of cockle shell use in concrete to replace partially the natural coarse aggregates and river sand, which is yet to be investigated, is covered in this chapter. An introduction to enlighten the reader with this promising waste material precedes a review of environmental issues with cockle shell which would reduce harm to environment and preserve natural materials for future generation. Cockle trade is an important subtitle that covers cockle shell waste generation, research, and development related to the deployment on the use of cockle shell, processing cockle shell for making construction material are discussed in detail. Experiments were conducted, and the test data revealed that the use of cockle shell as partial replacement of coarse aggregates enhanced the strength of concrete and as partial replacement of sand improved the performance of mortar bricks.
