Abstract There are many parameters which could reflect the operating state of geotechnical centrifuge. However, only one parameter is detected generally ; this is insuficient and unsafe for the running of the geotechnical centrifuge. This paper put forward an auto-running sate monitoring method which based on the multi-parameters’ weighted data fusion. The way by multi-sensor acquirring the running state data of the geotechnical centrifuge, then processing the data with weighted data fusion could produce the comprehensive running state parameter, which feed forward to the control system to keep the equipment running in a safe manner. The method in this paper could be implemented automatically and the result for safety monitroing is sufficient, the effect is much more efficient.

The fault diagnosis of electrical control system of certain type mine sweeping vehicle is difficult due to its complex structure and advanced technique. So in the multi-sensor failure diagnosis process, as a result of various reasons, such as the existence of measurement noise, diagnosis knowledge incomplete and so on, it makes the fault diagnosis uncertainty and affects the reliability and the accuracy of the diagnosis result. This article according to the analysis of electrical control system's fault characteristic of the mine sweeping plough’s, proposes a technique based on data fusion fault diagnosis method. The diagnosis process is divided into the sub system and the system-level, the subsystem uses the BP neural network to classify the fault mode, the system-level uses the D-S evidence theory carries on the comprehensive decision judgment for the whole system's fault. Application shows if some sub-neural network diagnosis has error, using D-S evidence theory fusion can effectively improve the accuracy of diagnosis.

In drilling field, drill-strings stick-slip vibration is a common phenomenon and may lead to a series of drilling accidents. In order to improve drilling efficiency, this paper commits to study a new control system to suppress the undesired stick-slip vibration. In this work, a two degrees of freedom lumped parameter model is established to imitate the drill-strings. A state observer is proposed to estimate the unknown drill-strings states. A reference governor is put forward to optimize drilling parameters. In addition, in order to enhance the anti-interference ability of the closed-loop system, a torque feed forward is introduced into the control system. Based on the state observer and the reference governor, a state feedback and torque feed forward combined controller is designed. The simulation results indicate preliminarily that the designed state feedback and torque feed forward controller, compared with the drilling industry PI controller, has better dynamic performance and stronger ability to eliminate the drill-strings stick-slip vibration. Finally, the control system is applied in the drilling field. The experimental tests demonstrate that the designed controller can effectively suppress the drill-strings stick-slip vibration.

In this paper, the established control system and its control algorism of a new twin roll strip caster developed by authors is presented. It is illustrated the roll-gap control strategy of the twin roll strip caster based on a feed forward-feedback system. From the experimental results, the susceptibility of control convergence time, stable and accurate are shown on a higher level than traditional control strategy.

In this chapter the authors propose methodologies for improving the efficiency of a control system in an industrial environment, specifically an oil production platform. They propose a data fusion model that consists of four steps – preprocessing, classification and association, data association and correlation association, and composite decision. The first two steps are executed at the sensor network level and the last two steps are done at the network manager or controller level. Their second proposal is a distributed hierarchical control system and network management system. Here the central idea is that the network manager and controller coordinate in order to make delays in feedback loops as well as for increasing the lifetime of the sensor network. The authors finally conclude the control system proposal by giving a controlling model using sensor networks to control the flow of hydrocarbons in an oil production platform.
