<strong>English</strong><br />Jajar Legowo planting system is one of the most recent technological innovation breakthroughs promoted by the Indonesian Government to increase rice farming productivity. Lamongan Regency, as a rice producing center in East Java Province, is one of the government's targets in developing jajar legowo planting system. However, this technology is still not yet widely implemented by farmers. The existence of new technology is thought to affect the level of technical efficiency of farmers because it can affect the managerial aspects of farmers. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of technical efficiency of rice farming in the jajar legowo planting system and to find out what factors influence the level of technical efficiency of rice farming in Lamongan Regency. The study was conducted using the stochastic frontier method. The results showed that the jajar legowo rice farming system had a higher average value of technical efficiency compared to conventional rice farming. Rice farming with a jajar legowo planting system had an average technical efficiency level of 0.95, while conventional rice farming had an average technical efficiency level of 0.80. There were four variables that had significant effects on the level of technical efficiency of rice farming, namely age, farming experience, land status, and type of planting technology used by farmers (Jarwo or conventional). It is recommended that training and extension be conducted routinely so that farmers are motivated to implement the jajar legowo planting system.<br /><br /><strong>Indonesian</strong><br />Salah satu terobosan teknologi yang saat ini dianjurkan oleh pemerintah untuk meningkatkan produktivitas padi adalah sistem tanam jajar legowo. Kabupaten Lamongan sebagai sentra padi di Provinsi Jawa Timur menjadi salah satu sasaran pemerintah dalam mengembangkan sistem tanam jajar legowo. Namun, nyatanya teknologi ini masih belum banyak diterapkan petani. Adanya teknologi baru diduga dapat berpengaruh terhadap tingkat efisiensi teknis petani karena dapat memengaruhi aspek manajerial petani. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat efisiensi teknis usaha tani padi sistem tanam jajar legowo dan mengetahui faktor apa saja yang berpengaruh terhadap tingkat efisiensi teknis usaha tani padi di Kabupaten Lamongan. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode stochastic frontier. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan usaha tani padi sistem tanam jajar legowo memiliki nilai rata-rata tingkat efisiensi teknis lebih tinggi jika dibandingkan dengan usaha tani padi konvensinal. Usaha tani padi dengan sistem tanam jajar legowo memiliki rata-rata tingkat efisiensi teknis sebesar 0,95, sedangkan usaha tani padi konvensional memiliki rata-rata tingkat efisiensi teknis sebesar 0,80. Terdapat empat variabel yang berpengaruh signifikan terhadap tingkat efisiensi teknis usaha tani padi, yaitu usia, pengalaman berusaha tani, status lahan, dan tipe teknologi tanam yang digunakan petani (jarwo atau konvensional). Disarankan agar dilakukan pelatihan dan penyuluhan secara rutin seperti sekolah lapang sehingga petani termotivasi untuk menerapkan sistem tanam jajar legowo.

This study aims to analyze the effects of the application of the hazton planting system on productivity and income, find out the comparison of the income of rice farmers with hazton planting system and conventional planting systems, analyze factors affecting rice farming production of hazton and conventional cropping system, and analyze factors affecting income from hazton rice farmeing and conventional cropping systems. Location was selected purposively in Parerejo Village, Gadingrejo Subdistrict, Pringsewu District. Respondents in this study were 30 rice farmers with hazton planting system and 30 rice farmers with conventional planting system. Data collection was conducted in October - November 2018. Data analysis methods used were qualitative and quantitative analyses. The results of this study indicated that the income of the hazton planting system does not significantly influence the application of the hazton planting system. There is a difference in income from the farming of hazton planting system and conventional planting system with a confidence level of 99 percent difference in income of IDR435,670. Factors that influence rice farming production with hazton planting system and conventional cropping system in Parerejo Village Gadingrejo Subdistrict, Pringsewu District are age, length of farming experience, and rice seeds, whereas, education, and land size do not influence the productivity of rice farming. Based on the analysis, the factors that influence the income of rice farming with the hazton planting system and conventional planting systems in the Parerejo Village Gadingrejo Subdistrict, Pringsewu Regency are education level, selling price, and seeds.Key words: conventional planting system, hazton planting system, income.

Rice Farming Revenue Analysis of Ciherang Varietyby using the PlantingSystem of Legowo Row 2:1 (A Case Study in the Subak of Sengempel, Bongkasa Village, Sub-District of Abiansemal, Badung Regency)Rice is one of the crops that has the potential to be developed economically. The waythat can be done to increase the rice production is by the use of superior and effectiveagricultural technology. Farmers in the Subak of Sengempel are growing the ricevarieties of Ciherang by using Legowo row planting system 2:1 to boost theproduction of rice. The purpose of the study was to determine the revenue, R/C ratioand the constraints of Ciherang varieties of rice farming using Legowo row plantingsystem 2:1 in the Subak of Sengempel, Bongkasa Village, Sub-District ofAbiansemal, Badung Regency. The selection of location was conducted purposively,and the determination of the respondents was taken by purposive sampling consistingof 30 farmers of respondents. The results of research of Ciherang varieties of ricefarming by using Legowo row planting system 2:1 showed that in one growingseason, the production costs incurred was Rp 15.533.330,99/hectare, obtaining Rp27.109.333,33/hectare, which generated revenues of Rp 11.576.002,34/hectare. TheR/C ratio was 1,75 per hectare and theobstacles facedwere technical problems in ricecultivation of Ciherang varieties. Farmers are advised to make the cultivation of ricevarieties of Ciherang using Legowo row planting system 2:1 because the ricefarming is profitable or feasible.The farmers should suppress or reduce theproduction costs, especially the labor costs outside of the household. The farmers areexpected to anticipate the pest attack in rice plants.

Lowland rice farming with jajar legowo’s planting system causes an increase in production which is originally 6 tons / hectare to 8.8 tons / hectare, but until now not all farmers have adopted the technology. This research is conducted in West Lombok Regency with survey techniques, with descriptive data analysis. The results show that: the participation of farmers in the extension activities of paddy farming with jowo legowo’s planting system is quite high in number with level of participation is 161.25 Some of the obstacles faced by farmers in extension activities are as follows: collide with other activities, there is boredom in participating in counseling because they think it wastes time, the delivery of material is not in accordance with the planting patterns planned by farmers and the benefits are still lacking. There are still many farmers who do not adopt the technology, with the reason that: planting with a row planting system requires more time, requires more seeds, requires more fertilizer and more work conditions, ultimately impacting the costs incurred by the farmers. To increase farmers' participation in extension activities, more intensive training is needed by field extension workers (PPL), so that they can change the behavior of farmers and want to adopt the technology

The proliferation of pests is most influenced by the host (plants) and other environments including plant distance and humidity. Agriculture research and development departement has been released many varieties of rice but their resistance to pests and diseases on various developmental areas is different. The study aims to determine the population and attacks intensity of Rice Leaf Folder (Cnaphalocrosis medinalis) on farming rice  jajar legowo ganda and regular systems (tegel). The research has been carried out on farmers  fields in Buntulia Village, Duhiadaa District, Pohuwato Regency from June to October 2019. The study  used  a Split plot research design with four replications. The main plot is farming rice jajar legowo ganda  and  regular system. Sub plots are varieties: 1). Inpari 30, 2). Inpari 31, 3). Inpari 42, and 4). Situbagendit. Cnaphalocrosis Medinalis  was observed when the plants age 5, 7, 9, and 11 week after planting (WAP) on 30 clumps per plot. The results showed Cnaphalocrosis medinalis  attacking on all varieties in both systems. However, Cnaphalocrosis medinalis attacks on the farming rice jajar legowo ganda (average 7.96 %) has as lower as than regular system (av. 3.95 %)) on the observations per weeks. The intensity of Cnaphalocrosis medinalis attacks on Inpari 31 (av. 5.56 %)   as lower as than Situbagendit  (av. 13.43 %). The result showed highest populations Cnaphalocrosis medinalis was found on regular system (av. 9.35 h / c) lowest Cnaphalocrosis medinalis populations was on the rice farming jajar legowo ganda (av. 7.96 h / c).  Highest populations of  Cnaphalocrosis medinalis was found on Situbagendit variety and Inpari 30 variety has lowest populations. Cnaphalocrosis medinalis attack intensity, generally increasing with rice age, the population density was relatively decreased because control doing.Keywords: rice leaf folder, planting system, varieties.

This study aims to determine the differences in income and determine the feasibility of a 2: 1 to 4: 1 jowo legowo planting system in rice farming. The form of this research is a quantitative study with survey and observation methods in the field. The population in this study was the community of paddy rice farmers in 3 villages namely Siamporik village, Gunung Melayu village and Siduadua village in Kualuh Selatan District of North Labuhanbatu Regency and purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the legowo row 2: 1 with 4: 1 planting systems were significantly different in terms of static income, the average income of Jarwo 2: 1 farmers was 14,315,331 and Jarwo 4: 1 was 13,863,238 with R / C Jarwo 2: 1 ratio of 1,247 and Jarwo 4: 1 of 1,204, for Jarwo 2: 1 BEP analysis 4,970 and Jarwo 4: 1 BEP analysis of 5,065.

Jurnal Lahan Suboptimal: Journal of Suboptimal Lands 9(1): 50-56.Efforts to fulfil the community food demands could be achieved by swamp land optimization. One technology that can be developed on swamp land is utilization of new superior variety and planting system. Economic feasibility is one of considerations for  farmers to adopt a technology innovation. The study aimed to determine the combination of the most economically viable new superior variety and planting system to be developed in swamp rice farming. The study was conducted from May-August 2016 in Karang Anyar Village Semidang Alas Maras district, Seluma Regency. There are 7 New Superior Varieties  of swamp paddy cultivated; Inpara 1, 2, 3, 6, 7, 8, and Dendang and 1 existing variety as benchmark variety, Cigeulis. The planting system applied were legowo planting system (2:1) with insertion and without insertion. The data used to achieve the research objectives is primary data in the form of farming data to calculate economic benefits and feasibility. Farm profit is calculated using partial analysis whereas economic feasibility is calculated by evaluating the break even point and R/C ratio. The results showed that Inpara 6 with legowo planting system with insertion yield the largest profit Rp 15.096.600,-/ha with R/C ratio of 2.92.

Sistem tanam legowo merupakan cara tanam padi sawah dengan pola beberapa barisan tanaman yang kemudian diselingi satu barisan kosong. Tanaman yang seharusnya ditanam pada barisan yang kosong dipindahkan sebagai tanaman sisipan di dalam barisan. Sistem tanam ini, mampu memberikan sirkulasi udara dan pemanfaatan sinar matahari lebih baik untuk pertanaman. Selain itu, upaya penanggulangan gulma dan pemupukan dapat dilakukan dengan lebih mudah. Dengan adanya sistem tanam ini diharapkan meningkatkan produksi dan pendapatan petani. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pendapatan petani yang menggunakan sistem tanam jajar legowo dan mengetahui kelayakan usahatani yang menggunakan sistem tanam jajar legowo. Penelitan dilakukukan di Desa Nepo Kecamatan Mallusetasi, dimulai dari Bulan Juni 2013 sampai dengan bulan agustus 2013. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak sederhana sebanyak 36 responden. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer di peroleh dengan cara observasi langsung ke lokasi penelitian dan wawancara kepada petani sedangkan data sekunder diperoleh dari instansi terkait seperti Kantor Desa dan Balai Penyuluhan Pertanian (BPP) yang mendukung penelitian. Metode analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif untuk mendiskrifsikan pola tanam jajar legowo sedangkan analisa kelayakan usahatani digunakan rumus R/C ratio. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa petani yang menggunakan pola tanam jajar legowo memperlihatkan produksi rata rata 3,326 Ton/Ha dan nilai produksi sebesar Rp. 11.642.361. Dengan nilai R/C ratio 3,23 artinya usahatani dengan jajar legowo layak untuk dianjurkan penggunaannya oleh petani. Primary data at gets by direct observation go to research and interview location to farmer whereas secondary data be gotten of institution concerning as Office Of Village and Hall Agricultural Extension (BPP) supportive observational. analisis's method that is utilized in this research is analisis deskriftif for mendiskrifsikan to pattern plants out humble align whereas feasibility analysis usahatani was utilized by formula R/C ratio. Result observationaling to point out that farmer that utilizes to pattern humble align implant show production average 3,326 Tons/Ha and production rates as big as Rp.11.642.361. with point R/C ratio 3,23 its means usahatani with reasonable humble align to be advised its purpose by farmer. Jajar Legowo is one of the planting systems in rice farming. Proper implementation of this system can increase farmers’ production and income. This research aims to describe the characteristics of farmers based on internal and external factors and analyze the factors influencing of decision making in the implementation of the Jajar Legowo planting system. Respondents were taken using a stratified random sampling method, as many as 50 farmers consisting of 25 farmers who implemented the Jajar Legowo planting system and 25 farmers who used a conventional system. The characteristics of rice farmers were explained descriptively in a tabular form. The binary logit regression model was used to analyze the factors influencing farmers’ decision making. The results show most of the rice farmers implementing both the Jajar Legowo and the conventional systems were of productive age with elementary school education. The land area and income of Jajar Legowo farmers were higher than conventional farmers. The social and economic environments of both the planting system were already high. Nature of Innovation of the farmers applying Jajar Legowo planting system were high. The variables income, land area, and the nature of innovation influenced farmers’ decision making in implementing Jajar Legowo planting system.
