Abstract The research was carried out at the Nukus branch of the Tashkent State Agrarian University. The article presents the results of research on the development of optimal methods for growing licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra L.) from seeds on salinity lands of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. In particular, the optimal rates of application of potassium geohumate for soaking licorice seeds, the rate of washing during soil desalination, the rates of mineral fertilizers and irrigation have been determined. The study of the effect of potassium geohumate on seed germination showed that soaking licorice seeds in a 0.05% solution of potassium geohumate for 3 days followed by drying the seeds in the open air provided the best germination on the 30th day after sowing and amounted to 72.6%, while the germination of licorice in the variant with the use of 0.03% potassium geohumate solution was 38.6%. The germination of the control variant was only 22.3%. It has also been established that the optimal rate of mineral fertilization for licorice is the application of 300 kg/ha of superphosphate, 150 kg/ha of potassium and 100 kg/ha of ammonium nitrate for 8 irrigations with a rate of 600 m3/ha.

This paper discusses the effect of a multiple-nutrient fertilizer and a mixture of simple mineral fertilizers on yield increase and forage quality improvement of hayfields under the conditions of the mid-mountain zone of the Republic of Altai. The natural forage lands of the mid-mountain zone of the Republic of Altai are characterized by the predomi-nance of the motley grass-grasses type of vegetation. The soils are deficient in available phosphorus and have in-creased exchangeable potassium content, so it is advisa-ble to apply mineral fertilizers containing nitrogen and phosphorus. The research was conducted from 2018 through 2020 on the farm of the KFK “Yegarmina M.M.” in the Shebalinskiy District of the Republic of Altai. In the var-iants of ammonium phosphate fertilizer application and its combination with ammonium nitrate in the rates of 20 and 40 kg ha (primary nutrient basis), yield increase of 24.1-85.9% (0.72-2.56 t ha) was obtained. The mineral fertilizers not only increase the yields, but also improve the nutritional value and forage quality. Digestible protein content in one fodder unit increased by 15-35 g as compared to that of the control. The maximum value of this indicator (116 g) was recorded in the variant with N12P52. Thus, the application of mineral fertilizers made it possible to obtain forages that met animal nutrition requirements.

Alcoholic extracts of medicinal plants Cinnamomum zeylanicum Blume, Glycyrrhiza glabra L, and Azadirachta indica A. Juss were subjected to the evaluation of antioxidant properties and combined for the cream formulation. The antioxidant property was determined by using the 2, 2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay and inhibition of lipid peroxidase assays. The cream formulation was designed using Minitab software and a central composite design was used to study the effect of dependent variables, steric acid and cetyl alcohol on the response variables such as, viscosity, pH, and spreadability. The phytochemical screening of extracts showed the presence of tannin, phenol, flavonoids, saponins, and alkaloids. Antioxidant properties of the extracts and their relative composition were found variable. Composition F3 (C. zeylanicum Blume: G. glabra L: A. indica A. Juss; 01: 02: 01) possessed the highest antioxidant capacity compared to other ratios. The cream prepared from this composition was found stable for pH, viscosity as well as antioxidant activity under normal condition (25) and accelerated condition (40 ). The cream with DPPH scavenging activity of 93.86 % at 15 µg/mL (IC50 8.58±0.30) and lipid peroxidase assay 90.93 % at 200 µg/mL (IC50 72.30±0.60) with pH 5.50 was found with a non-Newtonian positive thixotropic flow property. Parameters like pH, viscosity, and spreadability of the cream were within the acceptance range, and found stable and permeable

In this paper we provide new data about the soil enzyme activity as a biological process, which is an indicator for impacts of factorial combinations of lime and fertilizers applications. Five plots divided into fifteen subplots were sampled for determination of the enzymatic indicators of soil quality, based on the actual and potential dehydrogenase and catalase activities. The research revealed that limed soil samples, in comparison with unlimed ones, resulted in significantly higher soil enzymatic activities (p[0.05) in the upper (0-20 cm), while in the deeper (20-40 cm) layer, only catalase activity was significantly higher (at least at p[0.02). Mineral fertilization, in comparison with its farmyard manuring, led to an insignificant increase in each of the three enzymatic activities determined, excepting catalase activity which was significantly higher (0.05]p]0.02) in the 0-20 cm layer. Based on the absolute values of the enzymatic activities, the enzymatic indicators of soil quality (EISQ) were calculated. The mineral NPK-fertilization and low dose of lime in the 0-20 cm layer, and mineral NP-fertilization and low dose of lime in the 20-40 cm layer proved to be the best variants of fertilization. The enzymatic indicators of soil quality in these variants reached the highest values: EISQ=0.821 and EISQ=0.889, respectively, indicating the presence of high enzymatic activities. It should be emphasized that a balanced application of lime, mineral fertilizers and farmyard manure leads to the formation of favorable conditions for the development of microorganisms, growth of plants and for an intense and lasting enzymatic activity.
