Energy sustainability is a major challenge for today's development. The energy availability and the universal access of energy is essentially required for sustaining the civilization else humanity will roll back to stone age. As per the recent reports the estimate by International Energy Agency which says that around 1.3 billion people lack access to electricity and 2.7 billion people lack clean cooking facilities. These deficiencies can be met by the two pronged strategy of enhancing energy availability and facilitation of universal energy access. The sustainable energy can bridge the gap for critical requirement of eliminating poverty, reducing gap between rich and poor along with minimizing adverse impact on climate. In this paper an effort is made as to how to identify the area and make sustainable energy for future development.

Subject Prospects for the global coal market. Significance Seaborne thermal coal prices are on a long-term slide. Having peaked above 130 dollars per metric tonne (mt) for thermal coal delivered into north-western Europe in 2011, prices have sunk to 52.8 dollars/mt on September 7, the lowest level since 2009. At these prices, only the lowest-cost producers can remain profitable. In its 'Medium-Term Coal Market Report 2014', the International Energy Agency estimates that production costs for US Central Appalachian (CAPP) producers and Australian underground mining are close to 90 dollars/mt. Impacts Further coal sector bankruptcies and mine closures are likely. Coal will remain competitive with natural gas for power generation in most markets. Medium-term demand response will be limited by a lack of new coal plant construction and environmental regulation.

Economic activity is something that can not be separated from human life especially good for a country or region. Along with the times, of the needs of humans increase therefore the economy is continuously growing and changing. Islamic philanthropy has an important role in the economy. an instrument of philanthropy is the mechanism of transfer of the rich to the poor is right on target. At the same time, the Islamic philanthropy instrument acts as an effective social safety net. With the transfer of income from the rich to the poor, there will be an increase in demand for goods and services from the poor, who are generally basic needs. Judging from the type of funding source, Zakat, Infak, Sadaqah (ZIS) with the largest Muslim population in the world, Indonesia has the potential for enormous ZIS. The methodology in this study used a qualitative phenomenological approach, so that research results in accordance with the facts on the ground. Source of data derived from primary data and secondary data. While data collection techniques with in-depth interviews, documentary studies, as well as participant observation. Potential national charity reached 19.3 trillion. While Hafidhuddin (2010), said that the potential of zakat in Indonesia reached 80 trillion annually (this potential, before accounting for the funds infaq and sadaqah untapped in the community as a source of funds are voluntary sadaqah infaq. Potential Zakat, Infaq, Shodaqoh Sukoharjo regency of 1.6 M / year average of 30% in the form of zakat profession dominated by civil servants and the percentage of individuals still need to be improved and 70% is still a infaq shodaqoh ".Keyword: Infaq Zakat and Sadaqah Sukoharjo, Poverty

Subject Long-term energy markets outlook. Significance The International Energy Agency (IEA) has upgraded its forecast for total primary energy demand (TPED) to 2040 for the first time since it began projecting this far out in 2014. Impacts The IEA’s belief that the world is on an environmentally unsustainable path will bolster decarbonisation efforts nationally and globally. The IEA does not see oil demand peaking by 2040; this and gas’s growing share of global demand will help sustain oil and gas investment. China and India switching from coal to gas will reduce coal’s share of energy demand even though India’s official targets are optimistic.

Subject Offshore wind costs and potential. Significance The International Energy Agency (IEA) released a report on October 25 estimating that offshore wind capacity will rise 15-fold over the next two decades. Costs have been falling ahead of expectations and further cost reductions will help the sector to build more momentum. Impacts North European turbine producers and wind project developers see huge export potential, but Chinese firms will provide stiff competition. Offshore construction vessels will support rising offshore wind deployment and help to bolster currently weak shipyard order books. Governments and regulators will create supportive policies for offshore wind, but this will occur gradually and differently across regions.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to explain how some born global firms can leverage the rich social capital in their local (home country) horizontal network for accelerated international market entry and growth. Horizontal networks warrant separate attention from their vertical counterparts, which, along with those focussed on external international contexts, dominate most network studies in the realm of born global research. Design/methodology/approach The study utilises a multi-level qualitative approach in the study of a multi-firm population of animators in Ireland that, due to the small domestic market for their product, needed to pursue global customers from inception. The case study domain was purposely selected as a critical exemplar of a local horizontal network operating in a highly globalised industry. The authors collected data through in-depth interviews with 16 company founders. This primary interview data were complemented by interviews with staff at the apposite industry association and triangulated with secondary data on the local and global industry conditions, members’ international successes and awards. Findings The results demonstrate how active membership of a local horizontal network can be leveraged for the acquisition of international market knowledge and customers for born global ventures. This arises from the sharing of collective market knowledge and communal global customer information within the network to mutual benefit. Originality/value Although limited by the specific conditions in this highly globalised, non-competitive industry context, this study is unique in that it finds that cooperative interpersonal and inter-firm relationships embedded in a local horizontal social network, and mediated in part by an institutional support actor, emerge as important levers for a born global’s accelerated acquisition of foreign market knowledge and of global customers.

Purpose – This paper aims to present a new Islamic product called gambling-free lottery, which is inspired by ideas of Musharakah, Takaful and Al-qard Al-hasan, where the winner of the lottery receives the prize as an interest-free loan, and buyers of tickets get their money back after the winner’s repayment of the loan. Design/methodology/approach – The paper reports the religious opinions of three Islamic scholars who were interviewed for the purpose of this study. The results of a questionnaire to survey the mood of 430 persons about the new product are also reported. Findings – The paper concludes that although the proposed product is still at an exploratory stage and not a definitive product acceptable to all Muslim society, it could be a successful Islamic financial product, provided that it was put into practice with some modifications to accommodate all Islamic views. Research limitations/implications – Main limitations of this study are the number of Islamic scholars interviewed does not reflect all the Islamic views regarding the new product and the lack of more information about the religious side of this type of product. Originality/value – By introducing such a product, the gambling-free lottery could become not only a means of credit provision but also a new method of playing a “game” while lending money to someone who is more likely to be poor. Converting the poor into the rich could overcome many problems, particularly in poor countries.

Abstract

Turkey has various social, economic, cultural and geostrategic advantages and opportunities thanks to its location. However, it is also located between the Middle East, Balkans, and Caucasus, which are among the most depraved and unstable places in the world. This brings geopolitical risks to Turkey.

With respect to energy geography, Turkey draws attention both as a center and as a natural route country that connects supply and demand territories. More than 70% of the world’s oil and natural gas reserves and about 30% of global consumption currently take place in Europe. Accordingly, Turkey is a terminal country with its energy demand security for resource territories and with its energy supply security for supply territories.

The purpose of this study is to discuss the roles of Turkey with its strategic location in the energy geopolitics centered on oil and natural gas. The study uses the data provided by organizations that engage in significant international and national activities in the industry such as the International Energy Agency (IEA), U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), British Petroleum (BP), World Energy Council (WEC), and the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. Thus, this study uses a quantitative research method through the collection and analysis of secondary data.
