The idea of measuring the electrostatic charge associated with the debris contained in the exhaust gases of a gas turbine (sometimes named EDMS, Engine Debris Monitoring System, or EEMS, Electrostatic Engine Monitoring System) has been demonstrated by several authors as an interesting diagnostic tool for the early warning of possible internal distresses (rubs, coating wear, hot spots in combustors, improper combustion, etc.) especially for jet engines or aeroderivative gas turbines. While potentially applicable to machines of larger size, the possibility of transferring this monitoring technology to heavy-duty gas turbines, which have exhaust ducts much bigger in size and different operating conditions, should be demonstrated. The authors present a synthesis of their experience and of the most significant data collected during a demonstration program performed on behalf of ENEL, the main Italian electric utility. The purpose of this program was to test this concept in real operating conditions on large turbines, and hence to evaluate the influence of the operating conditions on the system response and to assess its sensitivity to possible distresses. A good amount of testing has been performed, during this program, both on a full scale combustion rig, and on two machines rated at about 120 MW, during their normal and purposely perturbed operating conditions in a power plant. The authors, on the basis of the encouraging results obtained to date, comment on the work still required to bring this technology to full maturity.

In recent years, the exploitation and utilization of groundwater resources in the development of society plays a very important role. From the view of groundwater monitoring system, there are still a lot of problems, such as obsolete monitoring equipment, imperfect monitoring system. To solve these problems, by conducting studies of groundwater dynamic data acquisition and transfer of technology, research and development suited to China's national conditions groundwater monitoring series of instruments. Development of multi-level and multi-source remote management software base on network, build a set of groundwater dynamic data acquisition, storage, transmission, management, and remote control of the information service platform. It has been applied in a number of major projects for the construction and operation of the groundwater monitoring network in China to provide reliable monitoring equipment and management service software.

Purpose This study aims to analyze the dynamic monitoring of deformation damage of steel structure buildings in long-term use. Although the steel structure building has the advantage of high structural strength, it will be deformed after being affected by factors such as corrosion and impact during long-term use, and which will affect building safety, especially the public building facilities. The dynamic monitoring of its security is an indispensable means. Design/methodology/approach This paper briefly introduced the principle of building information modeling (BIM)-based steel structure building information monitoring and the dynamic information monitoring system based on this principle. Then the monitoring system was used to analyze an operational steel structure suspension bridge in Xinxiang City, Henan Province, China, and compared it with the monitoring system based on back propagation (BP) neural network. Findings The results showed that the fitting degree of the dynamic deformation displacement data processed by BIM-based monitoring system was higher than that processed by BP-based monitoring system. Based on the comprehensive comparison of the dynamic data of all monitoring points, the BIM-based monitoring system had higher accuracy of deformation displacement monitoring and reliability of structural safety evaluation. Originality/value In summary, the BIM-based steel structure building monitoring system can effectively monitor the dynamic information of steel structure information.

<span class="fett">Hintergrund und Zielsetzung:</span> PHAR-MON ist ein Monitoring-System, das die auf dem deutschen Markt befindlichen Arzneimittel in ihrer Bedeutung für die Entwicklung von Missbrauch und Abhängigkeit in Suchtberatungsstellen überwacht. </p><p> <span class="fett">Methodik:</span> Klienten ambulanter Beratungsstellen werden im Rahmen der Standarddokumentation zu ihrem Arzneimittelkonsum befragt und Fälle eines abhängigen Konsums, eines schädlichen Gebrauchs oder eines Missbrauchs in PHAR-MON dokumentiert. </p><p> <span class="fett">Ergebnisse:</span> Im Jahr 2006 wurden insgesamt 448 Meldungen von 276 überwiegend alkohol- und drogenabhängigen Klienten in das Monitoring einbezogen. Tranquilizer vom Benzodiazepin-Typ wurden in allen Klientengruppen mit Anteilen zwischen 29,1 % und 35,3 % am häufigsten dokumentiert. An benzodiazepinabhängige Klienten werden zunehmend auch Nicht-Benzodiazepin-Hypnotika verordnet. Bei opioidabhängigen Klienten war im Zeitraum der letzten fünf Jahre ein Anstieg im missbräuchlichen Substitutionsmittelkonsum von 14,9 % auf 33,8 % zu verzeichnen. </p><p> <span class="fett">Schlussfolgerungen:</span> Das Risiko gefährlicher Wechselwirkungen zwischen Arzneimitteln mit Alkohol und Drogen sollte stärker als bisher in die ärztliche Verordnungsentscheidung einbezogen werden.
