ABSTRACT Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an important opportunistic pathogen with strong virulence and an invasive nature. Here, we report the complete genome of strain XN-1, which was isolated from the sputum of a severe pneumonia patient. The complete genome consists of one chromosome with 6,340,573 bp. Genome annotation predicts 5,974 coding sequences, 64 tRNAs, and 12 rRNAs.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the complete genome sequence of the triclosan- and multidrug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa strain B10W, obtained from municipal wastewater in Hawaii. The bacterium has a 6.7-Mb genome, contains 6,391 coding sequences and 78 RNAs, with an average G+C content of 66.2 mol%.

Serratia marcescens is a ubiquitous Gram-negative opportunistic pathogen. This announcement describes the isolation and genome annotation of S. marcescens T5-like siphophage Slocum. Terminal repeats, 170 protein-coding genes, and 23 tRNAs were predicted in the 112,436-bp Slocum genome.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the complete genome sequence of Staphylococcus aureus strain 834, which was isolated from a septic patient in Japan and showed strong virulence and methicillin resistance. The complete genome consists of a 2,838,668-bp chromosome and a 24,653-bp plasmid. Genome annotation predicts 2,670 coding sequences, 16 rRNAs, and 61 tRNAs.

Lactobacillus brevis strain 100D8 was isolated from rye silage and showed rapid acidification ability in vitro and antifungal activity against mycotoxin-producing fungi. We report here the complete genome sequence of L. brevis strain 100D8, which has a circular chromosome (2,351,988 bp, 2,304 coding sequences [CDSs]) and three plasmids (45,061 bp, 57 CDSs; 40,740 bp, 40 CDSs; and 39,943 bp, 57 CDSs).

Carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa is defined as a “critical” priority pathogen for the development of new antibiotics. Here we report the complete genome sequence of an extensively drug-resistant, Verona integron-encoded metallo-β-lactamase-expressing isolate belonging to the high-risk sequence type 233.

ABSTRACT The bacterium Klebsiella aerogenes is an opportunistic pathogen that often infects hospitalized patients and those who are immunocompromised. K. aerogenes in some cases can become resistant to antibiotic treatment. Being a potential therapeutic, Metamorpho is a T4-like myophage targeting K. aerogenes.

ABSTRACT In the present work, we report the complete genome sequence of Bacillus velezensis DKU_NT_04, isolated from cheonggukjang, which is a traditional Korean fermented soybean paste. The final genome assembly consists of a 4.328-Mbp chromosome with 4,134 coding sequences and a G+C content of 45.21%.

ABSTRACT Pseudomonas aeruginosa is an opportunistic pathogen that is able to cause various infections, including airway infections in cystic fibrosis patients. Here, we present the complete closed and annotated genome sequence of P. aeruginosa AA2, an isolate obtained early during infection of the respiratory tract of a German cystic fibrosis patient.

Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) is an opportunistic pathogen that commonly causes foodborne illness. Study of bacteriophages against this pathogen could be useful to develop alternative treatment approaches. Here, we present the complete genome sequence of LL11, a T7-like podophage that infects ETEC.
