The aim of the study – to evaluate changes in cellular immunity in rhesus-sensitized women in response to IVIG administration and the prognostic effectiveness of a method for the prevention of isoimmunization in the next pregnancy. Materials and Methods. The study was performed on the basis of City Maternity Hospital No. 7" (Odesa) in 2014–2019. 37 rhesus-sensitized women were randomly splited in two clinical groups: main clinical group (n=19) where patients received human immunoglobulin for intravenous administration, and control group (n=18) where patients did not receive IVIG. Results and Discussion. The state of cellular immunity in rhesus-sensitized women is characterized by a moderate decrease in the absolute and relative indices of T-lymphocytes while increasing the number of B-lymphocytes. The NK cell population did not differ from the control group. When analyzing subpopulations of T-lymphocytes, it can be concluded that the number of T-helper cells is increased and the number of T-suppressors is proportionally reduced. These changes explain the increase in the number of B-lymphocytes as a result of increasing antigenic load on cell receptors. In the group of women who received IVIG therapy, the ratio of chances of normalization of cellular immunity was 18.41 (95 % CI 2.62–166.74), T-helper – 14.93 (95 % CI) 2.45–107.8), T-suppressors – 14.57 (95 % CI 2.13 –127.57) and B-lymphocytes – 31.87 (95 % CI 4.1–333.41). According to the ROC analysis, the quality of the statistical model of IVIG application corresponds to AUC = 0.843 (95 % CI 0.689–0.941) According to the ROC analysis, the level of β-lymphocytes in the compared AUC groups = 0.58 (95 % CI 0.405–0.742).

Despite a huge number of studies, the uniqueness of antiparasitic immunity is so great that there is still insufficient knowledge of the factors contributing to the manifestation of the characteristics of immunity in mixed parasitic diseases of rabbits. Therefore, the question of the influence of the association of pathogens Treponema cuniculi and Eimeria sp. on indicators of cellular immunity of rabbits is relevant. The study was conducted on 59 male rabbits age 3–5 months of the Californian breed, selected by analogy. Animal were separated into two groups: healthy animals (control group) and sick animals (research group). Intensity of invasion was determined by the method of the Mac-Master. It has been established that the level of damage of rabbits by spirochetosis and eimeriosis was, on average, 1155.17 ± 184.87 and 6668.97 ± 284.16 pathogens in 1 g of feces. The count of T- and B-lymphocytes was determined by the method of spontaneous rosette-formation with sheep erythrocytes. Parasitizing the association of pathogens Treponema cuniculi and Eimeria sp. was revealed a high number of leukocytes (1.22 times, P < 0.001), which increased mainly due to lymphocytes, which were 1.45 times higher (P < 0.001), as well as neutrophilic metamyelocytes – 1.48 times (P < 0.05), eosinophils – 1.68 times (P < 0.001) and basophils – 1.57 times (P < 0.001) compared with similar blood parameters of healthy animals. In the blood of sick rabbits, the absolute number of T-lymphocytes (1.56 times, P < 0.001) and B-lymphocytes (3.02 times, P < 0.001) was significantly higher in comparison with a low number of O-lymphocytes (3.46 times, P < 0.001) compared with the control. This indicates the redistribution of lymphocytes to cells that carry T and B lymphocyte receptors on the plasma membrane. The absolute number of T-lymphocytes became high due to T-helpers, which in these animals were higher both in absolute (1.87 times, P < 0.001) and percentage (by 9.18%, P < 0.001) compared to control. Moreover, the percentage of T-suppressors in the blood of rabbits of the experimental group was significantly lower on 5.46% (P < 0.05) compared with the same blood count of healthy animals. Such a redistribution of the T-cell population in the peripheral blood of this group of rabbits led to an increase in the immunoregulatory index by 1.64 times (P < 0.01) than in healthy ones. High IRI and the number of T-active lymphocytes (by 28.23%, P < 0.05) in the blood of rabbits with parasitism of the association of pathogens Treponema cuniculi and Eimeria sp. indicate increased immune system tension.

The article presents the results of research on the effect of cadmium load on the body of young cattle. The negative effect of Cadmium on the liver causes a wide range of pathological changes at different levels of its organization. The impact of heavy metals on the immune system is particularly significant, because it performs a leading role in maintaining health and is recognized as one of the most sensitive to adverse factors, even in relatively low concentrations. The aim of the study was to investigate the influence of cadmium on the cellular part of the immune system of young cattle. The research was carried out on 10 bulls of six months of age, Ukrainian black-and-white dairy breed, which were formed into 2 groups of 5 animals each: control and experimental. The bulls of the control group were on a normal diet. Animals of the experimental group were administered cadmium chloride at a dose of 0.04 mg/kg body weight of the animal. It was found that feeding bulls with a diet of cadmium chloride, the number of B-lymphocytes on the 5th day of the experiment was 17.54 ± 0.95 %. The lowest number of B-lymphocytes was on the 20th day of testing – 15.12 ± 0.37 %. The study of the number of T-lymphocytes shows that at the beginning of analysis the number of T-lymphocytes in the blood of animals of the control and experimental groups ranged from 40.70 ± 3.62 and 40.85 ± 2.54 %. Subsequently, the number of T-lymphocytes in the blood of the experimental group began to decline. The lowest number of T-lymphocytes was in the experimental group of animals on the 20th day of the research, compared with the control group, this figure decreased by 3.63 %. The state of immunity of animals under cadmium load significantly depends on the ratio of T-helpers to T-suppressors. It was found that the immunoregulatory index of blood of bulls of the experimental group probably decreased from 10 days of the research. The number of T-helper lymphocytes in the blood of the experimental group of bulls under cadmium loading is probably reduced by 15, 20 and 30 days of testing. A probable increase in the number of T-suppressors was noted in the bull's blood of the experimental group on the 20th day of the research. Immunoglobulins of different classes are crucial among bull’s serum proteins under cadmium loading. The concentration of immunoglobulins in the blood under cadmium load decreased by 15.9 % relative to the control group on the 20th day of analysis.

The article presents data on the influence of the complex of micro elements (Fe, Cu, Zn, Co, Mn) in the form of aquacitrate on the indices of non-specific and cellular immunity in chicken broilers. The poultry received a fodder, balanced by nutrients, according to its type, age and productivity. Control group of chickens were added standard mineral premix (SP) from inorganic compounds of bioelements. Broilers of experimental groups were given water with a complex mineral additive of aquacitrates. In particular, the chickens of the first experimental group – in the amount corresponding to their content in the standard premix (SP), and the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th experimental groups – in the amount equal to 3/4, 1/2, 1/4 and 1/10 of the content of mineral elements in the standard premix. It was found that bactericidal and lysozyme activity of blood serum (BASB and LASB) were the highest in broiler chickens of the third and fourth experimental groups and exceeded the control values by 5.7 and 5.3%, respectively. In the bird of the second and fifth groups, the studied indicators were closer to the ones in control. However, in the chickens of the group D1, giving them the highest studied dose of aquacitrate of micor elements, the values of BASB and LASB tended to decrease. Concerning the level of CIC in serum, it was the highest in the chickens of the second, third and fourth groups, the lowest in the group D1. A similar pattern is also characteristic for phagocytic activity of pseudoiesinophils (PhA). The bite of half and even the quaternary amount of citrates of micro elements, compared with the amount of bioelements in inorganic form, provided an increase, compared to control, of PhA. At such a dose of micro elements in the nanoform in the blood of broilers, the number of T-total and T-active lymphocytes increased, including T-heeler cells and decreased the relative number of T-suppressors. The bird of the first experimental group was characterized by a decrease in the percentage of T-heeler against the background of a slight increase of T-suppressors. Thus, the results of studies of indices of nonspecific and cellular immunity suggest that micor elements in the nanodisperse form, due to better bioavailability and high bioactivity, have a positive effect on the formation and development of the immune system in broiler chickens at a dose corresponding to 25 and 50%, from recommended quantity of biometals in the standard premix.

The results of research on the influence of the elaborated complex immunotropic drug containing butafosfan, interferon, thistle and fat-soluble vitamins A, D3, E in the form of a liposomal emulsion on the activity of T- and B-cell chains of immunity in rats under the conditions of action on the body of oxidative stress are presented. It has been established that the introduction of 50% tetrachloromethane into the rats of the first and second experimental groups, with a dose of 0.25 ml per 100 g of body weight, causes oxidative stress in them which negatively affects the cellular immunity and functional activity of immunocompetent blood cells. Immunosuppressive effects of oxidative stress were manifested by a decrease in the blood of rats in the first and second experimental groups of the number of T- and B-lymphocytes and their regulatory subpopulations mainly on the 2nd and 5th day of the study. At the same time, in the blood of rats of the first experimental group in all research periods a decrease in the relative number of common, active and theophylline-resistant T-lymphocytes, as well as B-lymphocytes was observed with a noticeable increase in the number of their undifferentiated forms. At the same time, the obtained data suggest the positive effect of butafosfan, interferon, thistle and vitamins A, D3, E in the liposomal preparation on the relative amount of T- and B-lymphocytes and on the redistribution of avidity in the direction of strengthening the receptor field of plasma membranes immunocompetent cells. It was found that the normalization on the 2nd day of blood level in the second experimental group of common T-lymphocytes occurred due to the secondary forms of the blood and active T-lymphocytes by changes in the number of low-avid forms. In addition to the indicators characterizing the cellular immunity of rats, the components of the liposomal preparation showed regulatory influence on the humoral link of the immune response. In particular, on the 10th day of research in blood of rats of the second experimental group a tendency towards an increase in the relative number of B-lymphocytes and an increase in the number of cells with low and medium density of receptors was found, which, under the conditions of oxidative stress, indicates an increase in the body's ability to actively synthesize protective antibodies

The aim of the study was to investigate the immunostimulatory properties of bigroot geranium. Material and methods. Possible nonspecific characteristics of bigroot geranium were evaluated by the total leukocyte count in the peripheral blood, and qualitative changes of blood were assessed using Shilling’s formula by evaluating changes in lymphocyte counts. In addition, we also studied changes in the counts of Tcell precursors in the thymus and B lymphocytes in the spleen. Ethanol extract of the leaves of bigroot geranium was produced at the Department of Food Technology, Kaunas University of Technology. Studies were performed on mice Bl 57 (n=21). The control group (n=7) received distilled water at a dose of 1 mL/day. The second and third groups received 1% and 10% extract of bigroot geranium, respectively, as a food supplement. Changes in cell counts were investigated after 4 weeks following the initiation of the trial. Results. After a 4-week administration of 1% extract of bigroot geranium (1 mL/day) (mice group, n=7), leukocyte count in the peripheral blood increased to 6.1×109 cells/L, and lymphocyte count – to 70%, but changes were not statistically significant. The other case group of mice (n=7) received 10% extract of bigroot geranium for 4 weeks at a dose of 1 mL/day. In this group, leukocyte count in the peripheral blood increased statistically significantly from 4.4×109 cells/L to 7.2×109 cells/L (p<0.01), and lymphocyte percentage – from 52% to 80% (p<0.001), as compared to control. Thymocyte (T lymphocytes) counts in thymus and splenocyte (B lymphocytes) counts in the spleen showed a tendency to increase after the administration of 1% and 10% extracts. After a 4-week administration of 1% extract of bigroot geranium, thymocyte and splenocyte counts increased from 0.342×106 cells to 0.372×106 cells per mg of tissue and from 0.395×106 cells to 0.405×106 cells per mg of tissue, respectively, as compared to control group (p>0.1). After the administration of 10% extract of bigroot geranium, thymocyte count increased to 0.488×106 cells per mg of tissue (p<0.01), and splenocyte count – to 0.504×106 cells per mg of tissue (p<0.01). Conclusion. The extracts of the leaves of bigroot geranium increased leukocyte count and lymphocyte percentage in the peripheral blood, and after a 4-week administration of 10% extract of bigroot geranium, a statistically significant increase in the counts of T lymphocytes (in the thymus) and B lymphocytes (in the spleen) was observed. The immunostimulatory effect depends on the dose of the extract.

AbstractExperimental research was done to understand the effect of cigarette smoke to cellular immunity. In this research, 3 groups of rats were exposed by cigarette smoke for 7, 14, and 21 estrous cycles. Each group had a control group that was not exposed by cigarette smoke. Percentage of T lymphocytes blastransformation that cultured in 72 hours was used as the parameter. T Lymphocytes blastransformation was measured with the blood culture preparation. The result showed the groups exposed in 7 and 14 cycles had no significant influence in cellular immunity. But the groups exposed in 21 cycles showed a decline of the cellular immunity function. This research has provided that the cellular immunity of the rats declines by the cigarette smoke in 21 cycle’s exposure. Based on this research, people who are exposed by cigarette smoke for long time can decrease of their immunity, especially cellular immunity.

Bronchial asthma is considered an umbrella diagnosis for various diseases with certain pathophysiological mechanisms (endotypes) and variable clinical manifestations (phenotypes). The phenotype of exercise-induced asthma is one of the most common variants of the disease in children and adolescents. The treatment tactic of acute asthma attack is unified and depends of the severity in contrast to preventive therapy the vector of which provides an individualized approach. However, the issues concerning the duration, frequency of administration and amount of drugs prescription not finally resolved. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the blood immunological parameters in patients with exercise-induced asthma phenotype to predict the severity of disease exacerbation and optimize the reliever therapy. Material and methods. We examined 43 children suffering from exercise-induced asthma. Two clinical groups were formed according to the severity of the exacerbation. The first group included 22 patients with moderate exacerbation of asthma, and the second group had 21 children with severe symptoms of the disease, which was interpreted as a severe asthma attack. There were not any significant differences by sex, place of residence, age and diseases duration among comparison groups. The obtained results showed a significant increase in the level of B-lymphocytes in patients of first clinical group (26.64 %) compared with children with severe exacerbation (20.40 %), increase content of T-lymphocytes (due to T-helper cells) in schoolchildren of the second clinical group (42.32 %) compared with patients with moderate asthma attack (33.32 %). The attributive risk of more severe disease exacerbation with B-lymphocytes ≤20 % and T- helper cells ≥20 % was 36.6 %, the relative risk was 1.9 with odds ratio 5.0. A significantly higher level of pharmazan-positive neutrophils in spontaneous and stimulated modifications of the nitro blue tetrazolium test was recorded in patients with moderate exacerbation (35.18 % and 45.09 %) compared with children of the second clinical group (19.33 % and 27.81 %). The content of neutrophils in the spontaneous nitro blue tetrazolium test ≤15 % allowed evaluating severe compared with moderate asthma attack with specificity of 95.5 %, positive predictive value of 90.9 %, and positive likelihood ratio 10.5. Conclusion. The use of certain immunological parameters allows working out an individual plan for asthma attacks and may reduce the frequency of severe exacerbations in children suffering from exercise-induced bronchial asthma

One of the important factors that leads to damage of structures of the periodontal complex and leads to the formation of inflammatory process of varying degrees is the disruption of immunological processes. The aim of the study was to clarify the pathogenetic role of cellular adaptive immunity in the process of formation of chronic inflammatory reaction in the late period of the experimental bacterial-immune periodontitis. The study was conducted on white, non-breeding, clinically healthy male rats. Experimental bacterial-immune periodontitis in experimental animals was caused by insertion into the tissues of the periodontal complex a mixture of microorganisms diluted with egg protein. The obtained digital data was statistically processed using parametric and nonparametric statistical methods. The article represents the results of research on the parameters of cellular immune defense, determined by the relative number of CD3+ (common T-lymphocytes), CD4+ (T-helpers), CD8+ (cytotoxic cells, T-killers), CD19+ (B-lymphocytes), CD16+ (natural killers, NK-cell) and immunoregulatory index (CD4+ / CD8+) in intact animals and on the 30th day of experimental bacterial-immune periodontitis development. It was established that the nature of the course of experimental inflammation in the tissues of the periodontal complex depended on changes in the cellular immune status, accompanied by a decrease of the content of common mature T-lymphocytes (CD3+) in the blood of animals with experimental bacterial-immune periodontitis on the 30th day of the study. In the process of the development of the experimental bacterial-immune periodontitis there was a decrease of the content of T-lymphocytes-helper (CD4+) in the blood of animals and on the 30th day of the study an increase in T-suppressors (CD8+), an increase in the content of natural killers (CD16+) and a decrease in the relative content of B-lymphocytes (CD19+). The immunoregulatory index (CD4+ / СD8+) decreased in comparison with this indicator of a group of intact animals. In rats with bacterial-immune periodontitis, an immunosuppressive state developed in the late period of the inflammatory reaction due to both T-helper cells and cytotoxic T-suppressors / killers. These changes can be considered as signs of formation of the chronic course of the inflammatory process in the tissues of periodontal complex.

The features of the rehabilitation of the immune system of piglets after weaning were studied in connection with different seasons of farrowing. To fulfill this goal, 4 groups were formed from the offspring of sows of the SM-1 breed of Novosibirsk selection. The 1st group included piglets from winter farrowings, and the 2nd, 3rd and 4th groups, respectively, young animals born in spring, summer and autumn. Each group consisted of 30 animals. Studies of indicators of the immune status were carried out before weaning and 30 days after weaning. Weaning of piglets from sows with their subsequent regrouping in the educational farm «Tulinskoye» is carried out at the age of 60 days. The research results have shown that the state of the immune status of 2- and 3-month-old pigs is seasonal. Piglets born in autumn show the best indicators of leukopoiesis, T-, B-lymphopoiesis, the formation of functionally mature T-lymphocytes, activated T-lymphocytes and antitelogenesis. The second position in terms of the intensity of leukopoiesis, antitelogenesis and B-lymphopoiesis is occupied by young animals born in summer. Piglets raised in winter differ from their peers in a low level of IgM synthesis, while piglets born in spring have the lowest total numbers of T-lymphocytes, T-helper inductors, T-killer suppressors, B-lymphocytes and IgG. A month after weaning, animals, regardless of the season of birth, showed a statistically significant decrease in T-lymphopoiesis. The activity of the T-link of the immune system decreased most significantly in young animals obtained in spring. However, in contrast to their peers, youngsters born in the spring showed a statistically significant increase in blood IgM and IgG concentrations. In piglets born in winter, summer and autumn, the activity of IgM synthesis, on the contrary, decreased, while the formation of IgG remained at the same level.

In children with recurrent respiratory diseases, deviations from the norm of various parameters of the immunity system were determined in more than 85% of cases. The most part of children with indicators outside the range of reference values of the subpopulations of lymphocytes is determined at the age of 3-6 years. In children, a decrease in B lymphocytes (CD19+), as well as T-cytotoxic lymphocytes (СD3+СD8+), is accompanied by an increase in T cells (CD3+) and T helper cells (CD3+CD4+). The most frequent variants of combined disorders of the parameters of the cellular link of immunity were determined: a decrease in B-lymphocytes and an increase in T-cells and T-helpers - in 40.2% (206 out of 512 children); a decrease in B-lymphocytes and a decrease in T-cytotoxic ones - in 42% (215 of 512). Similar correlations between cellular immunity indicators in frequently ill children of Mogilev and Minsk regions were determined: positive Spearman correlation coefficients between CD3/CD4 and CD3/CD8 T- cells, negative-between CD4/CD8 T- cells. The proportion of children with indices of T- and B-lymphocyte subpopulations within the normal range is higher in children of the Minsk region compared with children in the Mogilev region for all the studied subpopulations of lymphocytes (P<0.05). There were no differences in the leukocyte-T-lymphocyte index between the two groups of children.
