Abstract The poem by Parmenides is widely recognized as having a decisive influence on Greek philosophy. The text is also notorious for its interpretative problems owing to its obscure poetic style. Among the discordant quotes from the proem, Simplicius uniquely preserves a verse with the unparalleled genitive εὐκυκλέος (literally ‘of [the] well-wheeled’). Contrary to a recent editorial trend in opting for the lectio facilior εὐπειθέος (‘of [the] well-persuasive’), I argue in this paper that the lectio difficilior is genuine testimony to a poetic device designed by Parmenides to perform a pivotal role in the proemial structure as a whole, and to redeploy a key concept in archaic verbal art by means of paronomasia: the ‘glory’ (κλέος) conveyed through the costly medium of song. The proem thus gives characteristic voice to the experimental spirit of inquiry in which Parmenides variously challenged and took his cue from the conceptual framework of encomiastic performance.

This paper explores the emerging trend of entrepreneurship and social entrepreneurship globally as well as in Pakistan. It discusses, how entrepreneurship playsa central role in economic progression for developed countries like the United States and how it has the potential to play a pivotal role in the case of a developing country like Pakistan. According to various studies, Pakistan with the 175 million population is the 6th most populated county globally, having 60 percent of its population under the age of 25 years. A well trained, educated and entrepreneurial oriented population can be an asset for a developing economy. Literature has reviewed, discussed and pointed out main issues, difficulties, and opportunities about entrepreneurship in Pakistan; presents a working model of entrepreneurship that can foster entrepreneurship. Therefore, a conceptual framework is developed which further can be tested empirically. This study presents entrepreneurship as a way forward for the national development of Pakistan.

Rural development in Poland has excelled at a rapid pace since EU accession. Much has been achieved. Going forward, rural policies will need to maintain this momentum, address some of the most intractable policy problems, such as persistent pockets of poverty, and ensure that growth and prosperity is experienced in all regions. Poland’s research community has and should continue to play a pivotal role in addressing these issues. This article follows on the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development’s (OECD) 2018 Rural Policy Review of Poland. It provides a brief summary of the main findings of this study and the conceptual framework which guided it and proposes four main lessons (and challenges) for research community.
