The genus Ptycerata Ely, 1910 is recognised as a senior synonym of Caulastrocecis Chrétien, 1931, syn. nov., and revised in the Palearctic region. Nine species are recognised as valid. Three new species are described: Ptycerata sumpichi sp. nov. (Italy), Ptycerata nupponeni sp. nov. (Russia: Altai) and Ptycerata transbaikalica sp. nov. (Russia: Zabaikalskiy kray). Three new synonyms are established: Aristotelia salinatrix Meyrick, 1926, syn. nov. of Ptycerata furfurella (Staudinger, 1871) comb. nov., Xystophora tripunctella Snellen, 1884 syn. nov. of Ptycerata pudicella (Mann, 1861) comb. nov.; Aristotelia condensata Meyrick, 1928 syn. nov. of Ptycerata interstratella (Christoph, 1872) comb. nov. Further new generic combinations are proposed: Ptycerata gypsella (Constant, 1893) comb. nov., Ptycerata cryptoxena (Gozmány, 1952) comb. nov., Ptycerata perexigella (Junnilainen, 2010) comb. nov. In order to stabilise nomenclature lectotypes are designated for Ptycerata busckella Ely, 1910, Gelechia furfurella Staudinger, 1871, Hypsolophus pudicellus Mann, 1861, Aristotelia condensata Meyrick, 1928 and Aristotelia interstratella Christoph, 1872. The female genitalia of P. interstratella are described for the first time. Ptycerata pudicella is recorded as new for Cyprus and Mongolia, and P. interstratella as new from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tadzhikistan and Iran. Ptycerata pudicellus is removed from the list of Lepidoptera found in Spain.

Tettigonia sanguinicollis Latreille, 1811, and its junior synonym Tettigonia farinaria Amyot & Serville, 1843, are herein transferred to the genus Onega Distant, 1908. Thus, the previously incertae sedis genus Paragonalia Evans, 1947 (type-species: T. sanguinicollis), becomes a new junior synonym of Onega. Onega sanguinicollis comb. nov. is redescribed and its female genitalia are described and illustrated for the first time. A color variant of Onega fassli Young, 1977 is described. Three new species of Onega are described and illustrated: O. freytagi sp. nov. from Colombia (Cauca Department), O. krameri sp. nov. from Ecuador (Azuay and Bol var provinces), and O. orphne sp. nov. from Ecuador (Bol var and Pichincha provinces). A key to all nine species now included in Onega is provided along with notes on the distribution of the species. O. bracteata Young, 1977 is newly recorded from Azuay province (Ecuador) and Jun n and Pasco departments (Peru), and O. fassli is newly recorded from Ecuador (Napo Province) and Cundimarca Department (Colombia). Records of Onega from Cuba are considered doubtful.

The tarantula genus Lyrognathus Pocock 1895 is revised with three new species described: L. achilles sp. nov. from Gunung Nibung, Borneo; L. fuscus sp. nov. from Simpang Kubur, Borneo and L. lessunda sp. nov. from Lombok Island, Indonesia. The male of L. robustus Smith 1988 is described for the first time, the female is redescribed. L. crotalus Pocock 1895 is considered a senior synonym of L. pugnax Pocock 1900. Several new characters are discussed, with Lyrognathus keyed to species. The diagnosis of the Selenocosmiinae is amended. Zoogeographic distribution, natural history and subfamilial relationships with proposed sister genera Selenocosmia Ausserer 1871 and Coremiocnemis Simon 1892 are discussed. Lyrognathus saltator is redescribed. Selenocosmia lyra Strand 1913 is considered a nomen dubium.

The identification of the male of Cyana (Cyabarda) torrida (Holland, 1893) is corrected, the male is illustrated for the first time. Cyana suessmuthi Karisch, 2013 is transferred to the subgenus Cyabarda Karisch, 2013, its female adult and female genitalia are illustrated and diagnosed for the first time. A new species Cyana (Cyabarda) nambi sp. nov. similar to C. torrida is described from Uganda. Cyana torrida maculata Karisch, 2013 is upgraded to species rank and transferred to the subgenus Idiovulpecula Karisch, 2013: C. (Idiovulpecula) maculata Karisch, 2013, stat. nov. Two new species of the subgenus Idiovulpecula are described: C. (Idiovulpecula) lowa sp. nov. (Democratic Republic of the Congo) and C. (Idiovulpecula) foya sp. nov. (Liberia). Here we present a survey of Seira fauna from Iberian Peninsula and Canary Islands, including the description of three new species from Spain: Seira barrai sp. nov., Seira betica sp. nov. and Seira burgersi sp. nov., the latter with unprece-dented antennal morphology for Seira. Five species from Western Europe are redescribed and their dorsal detailed chaetotaxy is revealed for the first time: S. domestica (Nicolet), S. dinizi Gama, S. ferrarii Parona, S. mantis Zeppelini & Bellini and S. pini Jordana & Arbea, the first two from type locality, and the latter two based on analysis of the type material. A note on chaetal interpretation of the first abdominal segment for Seira is presented. An identification key to 31 species with known dorsal chaetotaxy from Western Palearctic region is also provided, including a discussion on dense macrochaetotaxy present in Palearctic and Oriental species and its reduction in species from others biogeographic regions.

The tribe Sericothripini is divided into three genera, Sericothrips Haliday, Hydatothrips Karny and Neohydatothrips John. The genera Corcithrips Bhatti, Faureana Bhatti, Pyrothrips Bhatti, Sariathrips Bhatti and Zonothrips Priesner are considered new synonyms of Hydatothrips. The genera Elbuthrips Bhatti and Kazinothrips Bhatti are considered new synonyms of Neohydatothrips. Keys to the 23 species of Hydatothrips and 16 species of Neohydatothrips in East and South Asia, including Taiwan, China, Korea, Japan, India, Malaysia and the neighboring areas are given. Neohydatothrips pectinarius Kudo is a new synonym of N. medius Wang, N. populi Han is new synonym of N. elaeagni Kudo, and Z. luridus Ananthakrishnan is a new synonym of N. plynopygus (Karny). This paper describes three new species from Taiwan, H. flavidus, H. meriposa, and N. surrufus, and records from Taiwan for the first time the following four species: N. gracilipes Hood, N. plynopygus (Karny), N. samayunkur Kudo and N. tabulifer (Priesner).
