Anthuroid Isopoda are a poorly studied crustacean taxon in the Tropical Eastern Pacific, barely 21 species recorded, while to the southern Mexican Pacific, only eight species have been recorded. This study aims to increase knowledge of the species that inhabit the region. One hundred and one specimens from seven localities of the coast of Guerrero and Oaxaca were examined. Four new species were identified, belonging to three genera and two families: Negoescuanthura bastidai n. gen., n. sp., Colanthura gabinae n. sp., Paranthura amorensis n. sp. and P. tientai n. sp. A new genus is established, Negoescuanthura, very close to the genus Accalathura; the former is characterized by sucker-like cuticular structures on the antennal peduncle, while the latter lack these structures.

Chrysopetalids annelids have been little studied in the Tropical Eastern Pacific (TEP), with only 24 species recorded in the region. Most records are from northwestern Mexico and Costa Rica, leaving many sites along the Tropical Pacific coast of America unexplored. Furthermore, there are species recorded and described from the region with problems in their status, including questionable records, modest illustrations or descriptions, and lost type material. This paper aims to improve the knowledge of this family in the TEP. Almost 290 specimens were revised, provided from five scientific collections, covering 51 sites along the TEP and nearby. Two subfamilies: Calamyzinae and Chrysopetalinae, nine genera and 20 species were determined. Of these, ten species have been previously recorded, three are indeterminable and seven are new species: Paleanotus karlyae n. sp., Arichlidon mucropaleum n. sp., Bhawania bastidai n. sp., Chrysopetalum mexicanum n. sp., C. tovarae n. sp. A new genus is proposed, Bhawatsonia n. gen. which includes two new species, B. fusa n. sp. as its type species, B. nenoae n. sp. and, the new combination and neotype of B. purpurea n. comb. An updated and revised checklist of all chrysopetalids species recorded in the region is included, currently composed of 16 genera, 30 species, and four morphospecies.

The present study deals two new alpheid shrimp species from the transisthmian Salmoneus ortmanni (Rankin, 1898) complex. Salmoneus alvarezi sp. nov. is described based on materials collected in Bahía Málaga, Colombia, and Punta Morales, Costa Rica, and is closely related to the western Atlantic S. ortmanni and S. wehrtmanni Anker, 2011. Salmoneus malagensis sp. nov. is described based on specimens from Bahía Málaga, Colombia, and beyond any doubts represents the eastern Pacific sister species of the western Atlantic S. carvachoi Anker, 2007. The two new species can be easily distinguished from each other by a number of morphological characters and colouration, and in addition appear to be ecologically separated. All previous records of S. ortmanni from the eastern Pacific are reassigned, some tentatively, to S. alvarezi sp. nov. based on description, illustrations or ecological data.
