An important step in the production cycle of pressing the expanded polystyrene is cooling of the mold and the molding. The paper describes the execution and analysis of experimental measurements in order to identify the influence of the cooling system on the quality of products produced by the technology observed. For the purpose of the experiment, a test mold with specific properties of the mold parts of the mold cavity was designed and manufactured. By means of the measuring circuit, the knowledge of the course of temperatures in the mold cavity during the pressing cycle was obtained. At the same time, the temperature distribution on the moldings and in the mold was monitored by means of a thermal imager. Two press cycles, with and without water cooling, were performed in course of the tests. Subsequently, the quality of the test pieces produced was checked. Based on the experiments conducted, the parameters influencing the water-cooling process of the mold for the production of expanded polystyrene have been identified. A significant element of the water-cooling system, which affects the quality of products and the technological process, is the application of spray nozzles – their location, orientation, and density. In order to optimize the cooling process observed, a multiple-nozzle spray head has been designed to produce water mist as a tool for more efficient distribution and application of the coolant.

Cooling is an important process during the production of pellets (as post-treatment). The pellet cooling process significantly impacts the quality of the pellets produced and the systematic use of energy. However, the cooling systems currently in use sometimes encounter technical problems, such as clogging of the perforated grids (sieves), the discharge hopper, or pellet degradation may occur. Therefore, a prototype of a new pellet cooling system using a vibrating feeder was tested. The aim of the study is to present a new variation of pellet cooling system using spiral vibration cooler as a possible solution next to a counterflow cooler. The presented system was tested (critically evaluated and discussed) in two design variants. The first variant consists in cooling by chaotic movement of the pellets. The second is then in combination with the chaotic movement of the pellets together with the action of intense air flow using specially placed air hoses. All tests involved pelletization of rapeseed straw. It was found that both cooling system variants could, realistically, be used. However, the variant with an intense air flow was more energy-intensive, a factor which is, however, offset by the higher quality of the pellets. No negative impact of vibrations to pellets quality was occur. Studies provide insight into new usable technologies that do not reduce the efficiency of the process as a result of grate clogging.

A typical information technology system takes around 40% of the total energy used in cooling the system. There are three major classifications of cooling system and they are: water cooling, close loop liquid cooling, and immersion cooling systems. Immersion cooling has been observed to be the latest trend in cooling systems for IT devices. It is a cooling procedure that is carried out through the immersion of all computer components in a dielectric coolant. This research examined the cooling process of GPU using this immersion method. Mineral oil, because of its high dielectric strength, is used as a medium fluid. The temperature difference between the use of fan and immersion cooling was then measured using a benchmark software. The result showed that the immersion cooling produced a lower GPU temperature compared to the conventional fan. The working temperature of the GPU with the use of immersion method was 70°C while it was 80°C with the conventional fan method.

In injection molding processes, while the plastic is injected into the mold cavity, the displaced air leaves the mold through openings which are referred to as the venting slots. With the continuous improvements of manufacturing precision and injecting speed, the design of venting slot is becoming an important problem which influences the quality of products greatly. In this paper, five types of possible location to generate “gas-trap” were summarized based on the research and analysis of mold manufacturing and injection molding. The dimensions of venting slot, eight kinds of venting mode and their corresponding structures were presented. The principle for the design of venting system was proposed.

This paper presents an analysis of the operating parameters of a water cooling system of the structural part of a furnace for rolling mills preparation. The structural solution of the cooling system is performed as flow, with a constant inflow of fresh water and drainage from the system. Four longitudinal pipes are installed, which are supported by vertical girders. Vertical girders should provide thermal stability to ensure pipe- plate horizontality. The vertical girders are regularly connected to the cooling system by placing pipes direct into the vertical girder, which engages the part of the water supply that cools the vertical girder, and the same water is returned to the cooling system and continuously transferred to the next girder. During operation, due to the quality of cooling water that is not chemically treated, calcium carbonate is formed; the presented impurities clog the flow channels of the cooling system in the vertical girders. The application of CFD analysis reveals the conditions of water flow in the cooling system of vertical girders. From the analysis of the obtained results, it is proposed to upgrade the existing system by installing a flushing system, which will ensure a directed and controlled inflow in the zones of the cooling system. The conceptual solution for the flushing system and the effects of its operation are given in this paper.

The article is devoted to solving one of the most important problems of the development of the sugar industry in Russia – the modernization of sugar production processes. Today, sugar production is actively being modernized, shifting most of its processes to the path of avomatization and optimization to improve the quality of products. This article describes one of the main ways to obtain information about the concentration of sucrose in syrup in the production of sugar.

The introduction of the newest technologies of organic pig breeding has the basic principle of minimizing the use in pigs of chemicals, trace amounts of which in pig production adversely affect the quality of products and the health of consumers. The transition to herbal remedies, the maximum possible rejection of chemical synthesis products, is inhibited, in the main, by the relatively small spectrum of plant compounds with the investigated activity. According to the results of previous studies, six working solutions of Juglans regia L phytosupply extracts - potential phytosine disinfectants were developed: To investigate the bactericidal activity of the experimental preparations of Juglans regia, flushes were made from the internal structures and technological equipment of the housing of the pig stock of the experimental base v. Takhtaulove. Obtained samples of typical banal microflora of the pig complex were mixed to obtain a bacterial-containing suspension averaged over the concentration of microbial bodies and the spectrum of types of microflora in the microbiota. When cultured on nutrient media, with the superficial sowing of a suspension of banal microflora of a pig in the presence of a potential phytodisinfectant, processes of development of individual colonies of the microflora are observed. The amount and intensity of their development, the degree of inhibition of life, assess the level of bactericidal activity of the extracts. The highest bactericidal and fungicidal activity, and consequently, the potential efficacy as a possible disinfectant in the technology of organic pig breeding was revealed by the extracts of phytosupply Juglans regia L No. 2 (extractant - acetic acid to 5 %, nut of wax ripeness) and 4 (extractant, alcohol 20 % nutrient wax ripeness (proven after obtaining the primary extract of up to 5 % alcohol), which have bactericidal properties against gram-positive cocci and gram-negative sticks, but have a weak effect on the spore-forming bacilli. Key words: organic pig breeding, bactericidal activity, phyto-disinfectant, commonplace typical microflora of a pig complex, phyto row materials, walnut extract.
