Resumo: As variações linguísticas representam as diferentes formas de falar o idioma de uma nação, tendo em vista que a língua padrão de um país não é homogênea, constituindo uma característica inerente a todas as línguas naturais em reflexo das diferenças socioculturais e contextuais durante a produção de fala por parte de um indivíduo.  O contraste vivenciado por tais diferenças traz consigo problemas estruturais como o preconceito linguístico que afeta diretamente o cotiado das pessoas. Diante disto, a presente pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar o preconceito linguístico no ambiente escolar perante as variações linguísticas vivenciadas no cotidiano escolar das turmas do 2ª ano do Ensino Médio. Este estudo configurou-se como uma pesquisa descritiva de caráter quanti-qualitativo, realizada com as turmas do 2º ano do ensino médio da Escola de Referência Odorico Melo da cidade de Parnamirim - PE, tendo o questionário como instrumento de coleta de dados, analisados pelo o método indutivo.  Nessa perspectiva os resultados apontaram as variações linguísticas   como um processo natural da língua e que os alunos podem compreendê-las firmando sua importância para o desenvolvimento de suas competências comunicativas em sala de aula, tanto na língua escrita quanto na língua oral, em detrimento do preconceito linguístico declarado visível e inerente no dia a dia em seu ambiente escolar, assim como o ensino mecânico da língua portuguesa em caráter retrógrado. Apesar do reconhecimento da variação linguística, os alunos consideram o seu nível de fala assertivo, mas admitem conviver em um espaço diversificado, marcado pelo o contexto das variações setoriais e socioeconômicas, que estão intimamente ligadas às atitudes preconceituosas que podem impactar no seu desenvolvimento escolar desencadeando uma série de problemas.---Abstract: Linguistic variations represent the different ways of speaking the language of a nation, considering that the standard language of a country is not homogeneous, constituting an inherent characteristic of all natural languages, reflecting the sociocultural and contextual differences during speech production by an individual. The contrast experienced by such differences brings with it structural problems such as linguistic prejudice that directly affects people's shares. In view of this, this research aimed to analyze linguistic prejudice in the school environment in the light of linguistic variations experienced in the daily school life of 2nd year high school classes. This study was configured as a descriptive quantitative and qualitative research, carried out with the 2nd year of high school classes at the Odorico Melo Reference School in the city of Parnamirim - PE, using the questionnaire as a data collection instrument, analyzed by the the inductive method. From this perspective, the results showed linguistic variations as a natural language process and that students can understand them, confirming their importance for the development of their communicative skills in the classroom, both in written and oral language, to the detriment of prejudice linguistic declared visible and inherent in the day-to-day in its school environment, as well as the mechanical teaching of the Portuguese language in a retrograde character. Despite the recognition of linguistic variation, students consider their level of speech assertive, but admit to living in a diverse space, marked by the context of sectorial and socioeconomic variations, which are closely linked to prejudiced attitudes that can impact their school development, triggering a series of problems.

The development of social competences represents an integrated part of an individual’s development and is important for the proper functioning within the society. The excessive focus of school on the students’ cognitive development more often leads to neglecting the development of students’ social competences, which are crucial to the students’ healthy prosocial development. Social competences are analyzed within the fields of pedagogical and psychological sciences, lately being attached particular importance. The most convenient for exploring the level of the development of social competences is the school environment, given that students spend most of the time there. The aim of our research was to investigate the correlation between the quality of school environment and social competences among high school students (technical and general-education high schools). The present study results were obtained employing a content analysis method (the theoretical part), a survey method, and a survey technique. The results show that the quality of school life is strongly correlated to the level of the development of students’ social competences. The strongest correlation is observed in the subcategories: general school satisfaction, social integration and preparation for the future, while in the sub-categories of negative feelings toward school and learning experience the correlation is partial. The findings of the current paper might serve as a prelude to planning programs, within school curricula, aimed at improving students’ social competences.

Background: Developing autonomy, the ability to solve problem situations, make decisions and act for the benefit of your social environment are modern life skills and can be developed in the school environment, along with mathematical content, and can be viable through the methodology of project projects, using active methodologies and the resources of digital technologies. Objectives: Discuss the Mathematics Curriculum or the work projects as a pedagogical proposition based on the development of three projects with the thematic Cryptography, Music, and Project launching applicable to the High School. Design: Qualitative research that sought to investigate work with projects in High School was used. Setting and Participants: Experiments developed with two classes of high school students in the Rio Grande do Sul state. Data collection and analysis: Data collection took place during the development of the project stages through students' written records and questionnaires. Results: It is considered that the Work Projects developed constituted a possibility to modify the role of the student and the teacher, allowing students to become active, participative, and committed to the development of their knowledge. Conclusions: It is understood that students, their learning and development must be the focus of the educational process. Therefore, the school curriculum must enable students to assume the role and responsibility for their learning.

ABSTRACT Background: In school environments, the No Smoking Area Policy is based on protecting young people who are currently studying at school from exposure to harmful cigarette smoke. It is expected to indirectly reduce student smoking rates. This study aimed to describe the implementation of the No Smoking Area policy at High School 2 Nganjuk, East Java and to identify the factors influencing the policy implementation. Subjects and Methods: This was a qualitative study carried out at High School 2 Nganjuk, East Java. The study subjects were included the principal, student deputy principals, counseling guidance teachers, homeroom teachers, employees, and students of High School 2 Nganjuk. Data were collected using observation, interviews, and documentation. The source triangulation technique used the technique of checking the validity of the data. This study used an interactive model of data analysis technique, which is based on the theory of George C. Edward III, consisted of communication, resources, dispositions, and bureaucratic structures. Results: In High School 2 Nganjuk, the No Smoking Area Policy has not been implemented optimally, particularly on the resource factor. For example, some teachers and staff still smoking in schools. This was not in accordance with the provisions in the No Smoking Area Policy. As the budget for funds from School Operational Assistance (BOS) was integrated with the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS/MOS as well as the Adiwiyata program, there was no special budget for the implementation of the No Smoking Area policy. There was still not enough amount of billboards about no smoking area. The communication factor was the supporting factor. The policy for the No Smoking Area is always communicated to school residents. The disposition factors was the policy implementers’ engagement. The bureaucratic factor were structure and the presence of SOP in policy implementation. Conclusion: The enforcement of the policy of the No Smoking Area in High School 2 Nganjuk has not been maximized, so all factors, both contact factors, resource factors, disposal factors, and bureaucratic factors, need to be assisted. In the present study we investigate, record and discuss icons with asocial content, their type, their signifieds and ideological significations,wishing to extract useful conclusions regarding the use of icons in schoolnewspapers as vehicles of social messages. The research material comprises intotal 252 images with a social content found in the columns of schoolnewspapers, whereas the collection of the sample was based on the study of 64school newspaper issues coming from 32 titles of primary school newspapers fromall over Greece that were published in 2004-2006. All in all, it appears that social iconic publications create theeditors’ vivid interest, as they find their way mostly in the inside pages ofnewspapers. The analysis of the icons as to their signifieds places emphasis onthe dominant ideological forms: the signifieds of historic anniversaries,school life and environmental education come before the others, which in turnsuggests the dominant ideological trends, history-school-environment/ecology:a triptych that emerges through the social-iconic choices of those involved inpublishing school newspapers.Keywords: visual social publications, schoolnewspapers, semiotic analysis, students-journalists

A healthy andcomfortable school environmentis necessary,besidessupporting the learning process, it can also improve student achievement. Noiseisdisturbingin the learning process, as well as theavailability offacilities and infrastructure will greatly affectthe comfort ofthe studentsinthe school. The purpose ofthis research is to determinethe comfort level ofstate senior highschoolstudyinthe city of Denpasarin termsofnoise levels, the availability andmanagement ofschool facilities and infrastructure and student perception against school envirumental level. The research methodused isdescriptivequantitativemethod. The locationof the research wasconductedin 8 State Senior High Schoolinthe city of Denpasar. Measurements ofnoise levelsateach schoolis capturedfromninesample pointsbyusing asound level meterand surveyof schoolfacilities and infrastructurethat are environmentally friendly. The comfort level of public high school learning environment in the city of Denpasar based on the level of noise has exceeded the qualty standard 55 dB, with the highest noise in the school yard of 73,0 dB, which motor vechicles as the main caused. Temperature and humidity do not affect the level of comfort, because they already meet the standards. Lighting of class room in eight public high school in the city of Denpasar very well. Because it meets the quality standard. Availability and management infrastructure is optimal and adequate to support mostly high school in the city of Denpasar. Support in the facilities and infrastructure have been seen in SMAN 3 Denpasar. Almost all students in eight high school in the city of Denpasar stated that the school environment is comfortable, even SMAN 3 Denpasar stated very comfotable at around 62,85 per cent.

The article summarises the preliminary results of a three-stage study of the influence of the socio-cultural context on the life and educational manifestations of modern high school students. Firstly, data on the Russian representatives of «Generation Z» were specified. At the second stage of the research, the manifestations of «Generation Z» representatives, regarding everyday school life were studied. At the third stage of the research, there were analysed different educational learning situations as opportunities for senior students to show the behavioural and intellectual characteristics inherent in the digital generation. The main results of the study make it possible to set new tasks in the study of the socio-cultural context of the educational situation of modern high school students.

<p>Portfolio learning has been utilised in education for many years and a natural development in today's digital environment has been the move from paper to electronic portfolios (e-portfolios). The development of e-portfolios in New Zealand has also been driven by two forces- the emerging view that e-portfolios can be an effective way to support constructivist approaches to learning and help develop students into 'lifelong learners' ; and the beliefs about today's digital environment and the way in which students should and do operate within this. In many ways, e-portfolio research is a relatively young field of study and much of the research that has been conducted has occurred in the tertiary environment and related to the perceptions of the instructor or technologist. In an attempt to add depth to current e-portfolio research, this study made use of a mixed-methods, descriptive case study approach in order to focus on the perceptions of a group of high school students and the way in which they experienced using the e-portfolio application MyPortfolio for the first time. Key findings of this study focus on the way in which students experienced using MyPortfolio and the fact that although it is often claimed that e-portfolio tools can be effective in helping developing reflective thinking in students, overall, the students in this study predominately saw MyPortfolio as a tool to organise and process knowledge rather than something that could help them to engage in 'deep learning'. The experiences and perceptions of the students in this study also challenged ideas about how much students want to use ICT within the school environment and this study suggests that increased use of ICT can lead to students missing the social interaction that usually occurs within the classroom. In a similar vein, the students in this study also challenged the idea of the 'digital native' and their experiences suggest that, as with any area of learning, students' skills with using ICT varied greatly. The way that the students in this study made use of MyPortfolio also demonstrates the fact that although e-portfolio tools such as MyPortfolio offer students the opportunity to engage in reflective learning, they do not necessarily undertake this naturally. Finally, the findings of this study highlight the role of the teacher in supporting effective use of ICT for learning.</p>
