AbstractPresent study was aimed at investigating the role of Physical, Environmental, Task, Timing, Learning, Emotion and Perspective (PETTLEP) Imagery technique in the improvement of skill precision level of hockey drag flickers. For this purpose, both male (83) and female (38) hockey drag flickers (n=121) of age ranged between 17 and 27 years were selected from different hockey teams belonging to clubs, colleges, universities, departments, regional and national academies of Pakistan. Participants were made to undergo a Pretest-Intervention-Posttest research design consisted of 20 drag flicks and filling of SIAQ questionnaire. Drag Flick Precision Measurement Test (DFPMT) along with Sports Imagery Ability Questionnaire (SIAQ) were used to measure their skill precision levels and their imagery ability. The participants were classified into three categories as per their skill precision levels (Point-based), ranging from 48 Novice (upto12 points), 42 Intermediate (13–18 points) and 31 Elite (19 points and above), and were randomly assigned to one of four intervention groups; Physical Practice (PP), PETTLEP Imagery Practice (IP), Physical Practice+PETTLEP Imagery Practice Combination (CP), and No Practice (NP) Control group. Each group performed their respective tasks for 10 weeks through specially designed physical training programs aided by Imagery scripts. Paired sample t test analysis showed that all groups improved significantly (p<0.05) from pre- to post-test, and the CP group improved more with average improvement value of 8.32 for DFPMT and 5.39 for SIAQ (p<0.05) than the IP, PP and NP groups. However, there was no significant difference found between the PP (Sig. 0.73) and NP (Sig. 0.44) groups in SIAQ. Result extend prior research findings and suggests that PETTLEP Imagery practice used in combination with Physical practice has substantial impact on improving performance of complex motor skills, Present findings showed that PETTLEP imagery model was found to improve player’s precision skill levels, especially when it was combined with physical practice. However, further studies in this connection are needed.

Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling (TPRS) is quite essential to improve EFL learners’ speaking ability. It can be done successfully by means of the basic concept of TPRS known as comprehensible input in second language acquisition (SLA). This paper presents a study on learners’ speaking ability through TPRS making use of three important steps; Showing, Telling, and Reading. This is a quantitative study using quasi-experimental as the two intact groups are used; experimental and control group. The data are obtained from pre-test, post-test and questionnaires viewed from both students’ and teachers’ perspective. The data from pre-test and post-test are analyzed by using independent sample t-test. The experimental and control are ascertained to be homogenous in term of English performance from the pre-test analysis. The post-test are carried out from both groups after the treatment and the the result of the test are compared in order to prove if the null hypothesis is rejected indicating that there is significant difference performance between the two groups. The result of the study is expected to be beneficial for English teachers, EFL learners, and further researchers. Keywords: Speaking Skill, Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling (TPRS)

Abstract : Exercise, Older People, Cognitive Performance, MMSE. Cognitive performance in older people declines gradually due to aging process. It raises problems in functional daily activities, risks of injury, and dependency. Literatures have been revealed the benefits of exercise for health, not only physically, but also mentally. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of exercise on the cognitive performance of older people in Ngesrep Village, Boyolali District. This study was a quasi experimental one group pre test- post test with control group. A constitutive sampling method was applied to get subjects, and found 20 people for each experiment and control group. The instrument used was Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE). Based on paired t-test analysis in the experiment group, it was found a significant difference on the cognitive performance pre and post exercise intervention (α = 0.05, t = 2.492, p = 0.022, r = 0.657). In the control group, there was no diferrence in pre and post test (p = 0.053). Based on independent t-test analysis between experiment and control group, it was found a significant difference before the intervention (p = 0.031), but after the intervention, there was no difference between the two groups. It was due to the increasing MMSE’s score on the experiment group, whereas the score of control group was relatively the same. Physical exercise had a significant influence on the cognitive performance of older people in this study, so it should be held in Ngesrep Village’s Posyandu routinely.

In the current study, the aim is to determine the effectiveness of flipped learning approach in developing pre-service teachers’ skills and knowledge in creating and editing digital videos. Furthermore, the approach was evaluated through the theoretical lens of constructivism and experiential learning. This research was conducted within a workshop course for six weeks period during the summer semester of the 2018-2019 academic year at a teacher training college in Kuwait. In the study, pre-test/post-test quasi-experimental design with control group was applied. The experiment involved applying a flipped learning approach to the experimental group while the courses were carried out using traditional lectures in the control group. A questionnaire was also administered to the experimental group to acquire feedback on the effectiveness of flipped learning activity. Descriptive statistics, Mann Whitney U Test and Wilcoxon Sign Test were used in the analysis of the quantitative data. The results obtained from Mann Whitney U Test and Wilcoxon Sign Test suggests that there is no significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores of the experimental group and the control group. Descriptive data also demonstrated that the use of the flipped learning method in the curriculum had significantly increased the skill levels and knowledge of the experimental group pre-service teachers. The study recommends that care should be taken when structuring courses in pre-service teachers’ education when applying flipped learning.

TB is still a public health problem throughout the world where Indonesia is a country that has the third largest number of TB sufferers after India and China. Self-care by patients and families during the treatment process was the key to healing pulmonary TB. Using a quasi-experimental method, this study aims to improve the ability of self-care for pulmonary TB patients through intervention by “TB Mataho” health cadres. Most of the self-care capacity of pulmonary TB patients with pre-test results were sufficient, in the treatment group (75.2%) and the control group (62.5%). The post-test results for the treatment group were in the good category (53.1%) and the control group was in the sufficient category (59.4%). The results of the Paired Samples Test analysis in the treatment group obtained a value of p = 0.001 (p <0.05), which means that there was a significant difference in self-care capacity of pulmonary TB patients before and after treatment, as well as the results of the Independent Samples Test analysis, the p value was obtained. 0.030 (p <0.05) which means that there was a significant difference in the post-test results in the treatment group and the control group. Researchers recommend that pulmonary TB survivors who have a basic education of secondary and above can be trained to become health cadres and share their successful experiences with pulmonary TB patients who are still undergoing treatment programs.

Peer teaching is a strategy that allows the students to teach the new content to each other, and they must be accurately guided by instructors. The researcher proposes that the use of students peer teaching may promote students' achievement and ensure the engagement of all the students in the learning process. Therefore, the researcher employs it as a teaching method aiming at investigating its effect on Iraqi EFL students' achievement in the course of Library and Research Work . The study hypothesizes that there is no significant difference between the students' achievement who are taught library and research work by students peer teaching and that of the students taught by the traditional way. The experimental design of the study is Parallel Groups, Random Assignment, posttest. Each group consists of 35 students, chosen randomly from the Third Year Students at the Department of English in the College of Basic Education. Both groups were matched in terms of their age and parents' education. The experiment was fulfilled in the first course for 15 weeks during the academic year 2016-2017. The same materials were presented to both groups. This included units from Writing Research Paper by Lester D. . Post-test was constructed and exposed The t-test for independent samples was used to analyze the results and it is found out that there is a statistical difference between the two groups in their achievement because the calculated t- value 2.635 is bigger than the tabulated t- value which is 2.000, and also shown the superiority of the experimental group. The results indicate that the experimental group, who was taught Library and Research Work by peer teaching was better than the control group, who was taught according to the traditional way. So, the null hypothesis is rejected. Finally, some recommendations and suggestions are presented in the light of the study findings. to a jury of experts to verify its validity and it was administered to both groups.
