This paper discusses the views of John Wansbrough, about the authenticity of the Qur'an. The issue raised in this paper is Wansbrough's claim that the Qur'an is an imitation of the Bible. In answering the problem of library research, the researcher uses the description-analytic method through categorization or grouping in accordance with the data obtained. The study found that John Wansbrough's conclusion that the Qur'an was an imitation of the Bible was that the sources of the Qur'an were allegedly derived from previous religious sources, namely Judaism and Christianity. One of the evidences revealed by Wansbrough is by referring to the story of the Prophet Muhammad in QS. al-Isrā’: 1. According to him the story of isrā is a story taken from the previous religion, the exodus of Moses. He strengthened his opinion by explaining that the pronunciation of asrā bi ‘abdihi found elsewhere explained the story of Moses and also the next verse in the QS. al-Isrā’: 2 it shows the story of Moses.

Abstract Christianity in the spiritual growth and quantity of the church cannot be separated from believers who carry out the mandate of the Great Commission. This article seeks to highlight and provide answers to the controversial opinions that have recently been frequently campaigned by some liberal Muslim figures that the Qur'an recognizes the existence and truth of previous scriptures such as the Bible. They use several verses in the Qur'an, 5:44, 46-47 and 66, to justify the above opinions supported by partial interpretation experts under their understanding and purpose. In this study, the author used the library research method, which is research-based on library studies. The approach used is descriptive-analytical, which describes existing data sources, then analyzed and interpreted using available data sources. The opinion of liberal Islamic thinkers that it is enough for the Jews to use the Torah in carrying out religious law, and the Christians that they simply follow the rules in the Bible, this is because their methodology in understanding the verse is wrong. They did not explain at all the abuses committed by Jews and Christians. Including their defiance of Allah's command and about the guidance of the coming of the Prophet Muhammad with his perfect and universal sharia, which they are obliged to follow and obey, which is the information contained in their holy book. In understanding the verses of the Qur'an, they do not use methodological steps that can be accounted for in the discipline of interpretation. Contextual schools are emphasized for several texts that are alleged to be anti-religious pluralism. While on the other hand, literal schools are applied to verses that support the notion of religious pluralism.

Understanding the eschatology of each group or ecclesiastical school is quite diverse because this subject is indeed a difficult thing. This paper, Pengaruh Kosmologi Bumi Datar dalam Eskatologi Alkitab (The Influence of Flat Earth Cosmology in Bible Eschatology), aims to re-explore biblical texts relating to eschatology or the end of time. Of all the biblical texts available, it is found that the end times do not talk about the destruction of the earth and/or the universe and replace it with something completely or absolutely new, but only include natural disasters without destroying the absolute earth and/or the universe, so it is the renewal of the earth/universe that exists, now, inhabited by humans. This paper is the result of library research using the historical-critical hermeneutic method of the biblical texts used, including the two-source theory for the synoptic gospels. What is intended in this paper is that many eschatological texts or the texts discuss about the end times in the Bible, both Old Testament as also the New Testament, are strongly influenced by the understanding of flat-earth cosmology, so that reading of these biblical texts should not be carried out using the understanding of modern round-earth cosmology round.

This paper engages with the theological discourse on the state of al-Mahdi in Shi‘i tradition and the Peaceful Kingdom of Christianity. It focuses on two particular narratives, Quranic one focusing on Shi‘i tafsir Qur’an 24:55 and Biblical one concerning on Isaiah 11:1-19. This study employs library research looking specifically at Qur’anic and Biblical commentaries. By comparing the texts, it is found out that the first insists on several requirements to realize the promise of God (the state of al-Mahdî) by performing active struggles i.e. possessing strong faith and doing righteous action. On the other hand, the latter provides the description of the ideal circumstance when Messiah comes to a region in which both the ruler and the ruled do active struggles. The first still emphasizes the importance of strong faith while the second doesn’t. Yet, both narratives share that active struggles and righteous actions must be at stake.

The Portrait of Jesus in the Apocryphal Gospels often contradicts the Portrait of Jesus in the Canonical Gospels in the New Testament. For evangelical-orthodox Christianity, the canon of the Scriptures has been final, and has been endorsed at the Hippo and Carthage councils, however some Muslims always make the news that the Apocryphal Gospels, especially the Gospel of Barnabas, are the original Gospels, while the gospels accepted by Christians today is a false gospel. This interest is worth examining aside, looking into the texts of the Gospel of Barnabas insofar as they pertain to Biblical Teaching. This study will use a biblical approach to library research. Namely by looking at the texts in the Gospel of Barnabas and comparing them with the Bible text of the New Testament by doing a little exposition of some parts of the Bible. After all, the Bible is the primary source because it comes from direct eye witnesses and is only fifteen to sixty years apart from the time Jesus lived. The problem is that the Gospel of Barnabas has been mentioned in the Pseudo Gelasius I Decree which seems to support that the Gospel of Barnabas was written by the Apostle Barnabas during his lifetime. However, it is easy to trace that the Gospel of Barnabas contains many trivial errors that could not have been written by the Apostle Barnabas who had a Jewish background, living in the Palestinian-Israel area in the first century AD. Doing a study of the time of writing, writers, geographic and religious background, and language, if necessary the theological motive needs to be done in order to study the study of Heresiology or teachings that deviate from the truth of Evangelical-Orthodox Christianity.

One type of psalm is Lament. Psalms of Lament sung with weeping, weeping driven by the psalmist's sorrow. David wrote many psalms where one of them is lamentation in Psalm 12. In this article the psalmist experienced a change of mood (feeling) from lamenting, joyful hope then again lamenting. The research in this paper used a qualitative approach to library research methods. Literature research requires a study of related literature to guide researchers to achieve the research objectives of the data taken based on selected books. While the interpretation to find the meaning of the text of the Research Team uses the method of Reading the Bible (BGA). The methods of BGA are simple but practice interpretation that was designed initially for Christian quiet times. After Psalm 12 interpreted, the Research Team founded that the psalmist was still lamenting over the situation around him. Even though the psalmist experienced joy because God will save, but the wicked are still there and rottenness still arises among the sons of men. Because God works not based on the presence or absence of the wicked and rottenness among the children of men.
