Technology and machine learning are becoming increasingly important in Saudi Arabia educational system. There is a growing demand for educational institutions to use machine learning to teach the skills and knowledge students need for the digital age towards Saudi Vision 2030. The integration and adoption ofdigital technologies into learning and teaching brings more opportunities for Saudi universities students and teachers to better embrace the globalized digital age. There is huge potential for the Saudi educational system to perceive the key role of digital technologies inenhancing the education process quality. The aim of this article is investigating the barriersthat affectteachers’ integration and adoptionof information communication technologies(ICT) in universityclassroom. The study adopted a qualitative research design to collect the data through the semi-structured interview. The sample of the study is four Saudi ICT-experts professors from four public universities in Saudi Arabia. The findings of the study showed that there are three types of barriers namely; teachers’ level barriers e.g. attitudes, knowledge, access, resistance to change. Technology level barriers e.g. compatibility, perceived of useful, institutional barriers. Institutional level e.g. leadership support, resources. The recommendation and suggestion for studies were suggested in light of the findings.

Purpose: This study aims to examine the factors affecting caregivers’ acceptance of the use of wearable devices by patients with dementia by extending the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model with 2 additional constructs: resistance to change (RC) and technology anxiety (TA). Methods: A structured online questionnaire was developed and distributed to caregivers who have either dealt previously with or were currently taking care of patients with dementia in sub-Saharan Africa. The selection of countries for the study was purely based on the availability of caregivers of patients with dementia and their readiness to take part in the survey. Questionnaire data from 350 respondents were analyzed and the hypothesis tested using partial least squares based on structural equation modeling. Result: The results of the extended model show that social influence, effort expectancy, facilitating conditions, and behavioral intention (BI) all had P < .05, thus were statistically significant in explaining the perceived BI and actual use of health-care wearable devices among patients with dementia as reported by caregivers. However, P value for RC and TA was greater than .05, hence were insignificant.

Purpose: Healthcare employees frequently put their personal needs aside for their professions, making it a challenge to maintain a healthy Work-Life Balance (WLB), particularly for women. WLB is a delicate balancing act between the importance and priorities of one's personal and professional paths, which are closely interwoven in every aspect. The Healthcare sector is rapidly expanding with female doctors and nurses accounting for a large portion of the workforce. Their job entails a variety of issues which include night shifts, prolonged shifts, fewer breaks, and high work pressure. When there is a positive organizational culture and supportive environment at work and home, female medical professionals will be able to offer excellent medical care, be more efficient, and enhance the quality of patient care. Hence it is necessary to identify various factors affecting the personal and professional life of female medical professionals and discuss ways to improve their WLB. Methodology: A systematic review was carried out on the existing literature of WLB of Female Doctors and Nurses using the keywords Work-Life Balance, Hospital, Female Doctors, Female Nurses in three search engines: PubMed, Google Scholars, and Academia. The eligible articles were screened using exclusion criteria before being analyzed for the conceptual framework of the study. Findings/Result: The review identified personal and professional factors affecting the WLB of Female Doctors and Nurses. The study also discovered various research gaps in the domain of WLB and offered several recommendations to help healthcare personnel improve their WLB. Originality/Value: The systematic research yielded a clear picture of the WLB in the healthcare industry. The study also discovered a link between female healthcare workers' WLB and personal and professional issues, as well as various ways for enhancing their WLB. Implementing these methods in the healthcare industry can help medical practitioners become more efficient and successful, allowing them to provide the highest suitable care to their patients. Digital transformation in healthcare services has massive potential to ensure healthcare quality, accessibility, equality & affordability in developing countries. Bangladesh is not exception to this trend for digitalization of healthcare sector as a part of vision 2021 of digital Bangladesh. This paper aims to explore the current standing of the digital transformation in healthcare services sector of the public, private & NGOs, as well as the managerial and technical challenges facing the digitalization of healthcare projects in Bangladesh. The digital transformation in healthcare is at the introductory stage in Bangladesh. Studies explored that although digitalization of this sector remains somewhat problematic, the difficulties and challenges could be overcome. Due to lack of technological knowhow, literacy, poverty, trust, attitudes, resistance to change and infrastructural facilities, this project does not work effectively and efficiently. Based on the assessment of this sector, the scope of some fields requires further improvement. The findings will help government agencies, policymakers, healthcare providers and mobile phone companies to make effective decisions regarding the digitalization of Healthcare services.

The existing studies on online Communities of Practice (CoPs) in healthcare organizations have not adequately focused on the factors affecting KM initiative success and acceptance. Thus, establishing an evaluation framework has become essential for the advancement of research and practice in this area. In online communities of practice, the process of measuring and developing an evaluation framework has become quite complicated and challenging due to the intangible nature of the knowledge. Moreover, the lack of standards and studies, related to online CoPs measurements and evaluation frameworks, respectively, triggers the need for intensive studies in this area. In this context, this chapter reviews online CoPs success factors and identifies the gaps in our understanding. The authors classify the existing studies based on the area of evaluation, such as health and non-health domains. The chapter concludes by proposing a conceptual framework to measure the success of online CoPs in the healthcare sector.

This paper examines place-specific factors affecting geographies of innovation, that is, the transfer of research from the laboratory to bedside in the healthcare sector in four European bioscience regions. These regions are Medical Delta (MD; Leiden, Rotterdam and Delft, Netherlands) Oxford and the Thames Valley (OTV; UK), Biocat (Catalonia, Spain) and Life Science Zurich (LSZ; Switzerland). Evidence is drawn from the European Union-funded Healthcare Technology and Innovation for Economic Success (HealthTIES) project (2010–2013). The analytical framework, the HealthTIES Innovation Cycle, is organised into resources (inputs), innovation system elements and outcomes. The paper shows that each region represents different positions within international value chains of innovation in the healthcare sector. They range from the highly research intensive but with relatively less in the way of commercial exploitation location (OTV) to the less research intensive but with more commercialisation (LSZ).

The article considers the stages of healthcare sector reforms in Russia and the impact of this process on public health as the main indicator of the social state. A definition of public health is given; the scientific significance and relevance of the research are justified. The works of foreign and domestic authors, their approaches to the study of factors affecting public health are analysed. The analysis of the state of public health in 80s-90s of the last century during the political and economic crisis is made; the transition process from the so-called “budget-funded” financing model to the “insurance” one is described. Based on statistics and expert assessments, as well as international confrontations, conclusions are drawn about the multi-year underfunding of the healthcare sector, primarily from the state budget. A new stage of reforms is analysed: since 2014, the Russian government has begun the so-called “optimization” of healthcare. Its goals, results, feedbacks from doctors and patients are stated. They show the new reform is a negative process for health system. The blunders of health care reform have been sharply marked with the beginning of the pandemic of coronavirus infection. The facts of the self-sacrificing work of the doctors and nursing personnel during the pandemic period, the measures of the Government and the society to support medical workers were described.
