ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to quantify the superovulatory response and embryo production of Brazilian Bergamasca sheep and to evaluate the link to the follicular condition before superovulatory treatment, as a reference for selection of donors with potential for superovulation. Follicular population of twenty-three sheep was evaluated by ultrasound during metestrus phase of the estrous cycle and divided into groups of low, medium and high follicular population. Subsequently, they were synchronized, superovulated with 133mg of pFSH, mated and subjected to embryo collection. The superovulatory response (9.0±3.3 vs 10.7±6.2 vs 13.8±7.1) and embryo production (4.0±3.8 vs 2.6±2.0 vs 1,8±4.0) were similar between groups (P>0.05). There was a positive correlation between the number of follicles during the metestrus phase and the number of corpus luteum with premature regression (PLR) (0.52) and a negative correlation between the recovery rate and PLR (-0.44) (P<0.05). The sheep that presented PLR had more follicles during metestrus (16.9±7.8 vs 12.7±3.2) and lower embryo recovery rate (38.8±29.3 vs 72.2±29.9) than those with functional CLs (P<0.05). Follicular quantification during metestrus phases was unable to identify donors with high embryo production. Animals with PLR had a larger follicular population during metestrus and lower embryo recovery rate.

The relations between serum anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH), oocyte numbers, and in vivo embryo production in Holstein heifers were evaluated. The AMH levels of 15 unstimulated cows were followed at weekly intervals during their oestrous cycles and monthly for 4 months. Forty-one superovulated heifers were evaluated at ovum pick-up (OPU) performed 20 h after cystorelin administration, and 125 others were evaluated at embryo recovery. Animals were followed over 3 consecutive cycles induced using a modified Ovsynch protocol with 4 days of FSH (Pluset H, Minitube of America, Verona, WI, USA). Blood samples were collected in serum tubes and spun within 2 h. The samples were stored at –20°C until evaluation using the Minitube of America AMH-bovine specific immunoassay (AMH Fertility Assay™). The statistical analyses (ANOVA and data correlation) were performed using Statview 5 with P < 0.05. Serum AMH ranged from 43 to 960 pg mL–1. The average AMH level of all cows was stable during the oestrous cycle and for each of the 4 monthly measurements. There was a high correlation between all values per animal (r2 = 0.9077; P < 0.01), suggesting that AMH levels are consistent during the cycle and for at least 4 consecutive months. Animals that were repeatedly stimulated showed decreasing AMH levels (509 ± 295, 299 ± 210, 211 ± 119) and a decrease in recovered embryos (7.4 ± 4, 5.6 ± 3.8, 4.2 ± 3.2; P = 0.02). The number of oocytes was not altered by multiple stimulations (10.4 ± 9.8, 11.3 ± 6.2, 8.5 ± 7.6; P = 0.75). As AMH and embryo numbers decreased after multiple stimulations, only the first AMH value and results of the first OPU or flush were used to establish following correlation. Serum AMH showed a positive correlation to the number of oocytes (r2 = 0.245) and embryos collected (r2 = 0.27).When separated into AMH categories, low (<100), normal (100–400), and high (>400 pg mL–1), high-AMH OPU animals yielded significantly higher numbers of oocytes than the animals in the normal or low AMH groups (13.8 ± 9.2 v. 9.2 ± 5.2 and 5.6 ± 3.9; P = 0.001). Flushed animals with high AMH levels had significantly higher numbers of embryos than those with low AMH (10.9 ± 7.9 v. 5.7 ± 5; P = 0.002). Comparison of the first AMH value to the average number of oocytes or embryos collected over the course of 3 collections/animal showed a positive correlation to the average number of oocytes/collection from individual OPU donors (r2 = 0.436) and a positive correlation to the average number of embryos/collection from individual donors (r2 = 0.176). When separated into AMH groups, high-AMH flushed animals had significantly higher numbers of embryos than the normal- or low-AMH animals (9.3 ± 3.1 v. 5.7 ± 3.4 and 4.5 ± 2; P = 0.0001). As OPU animals with low AMH were used only once, average oocyte/collection data was not available for this category. A significant difference was observed between the high- and normal-AMH categories (12 ± 3.6 v. 7 ± 2; P = 0.0001). Circulating AMH is stable over time in unstimulated animals but decreases in repetitively stimulated animals. Anti-Mullerian hormone is highly associated with superovulation response and oocyte and embryo production, and its use should improve animal selection to achieve improve efficiency of multiple-ovulation embryo transfer.

Приведены результаты оценки быковпроизводителей голштинской породы по молочной продуктивности и воспроизводительным качествам их дочерей. Обработаны данные 563 первотелок и 45 быковотцов. В среднем удой дочерей за 1ю лактацию от разных отцов колебался от 6784 до 7789 кг, по содержанию жира и белка в молоке различий не выявлено. Большинство производителей обладали желательной степенью реализации генетического потенциала. Основной вклад в генетическое совершенствование стада вносят быки Altahessel Sex138929389, Altajupiter Sex 66011448 и ClearEc Altar2 62916235, достоверно увеличивая удой дочерей за 305 дней 1й лактации от 350 кг до 490 кг по сравнению со средними показателями по стаду. Уровень раздоя коров по 1й лактации достоверно обусловливает их дальнейшую продуктивность. У дочерей ClearEc Altar2 отмечена положительная корреляция (0,44) между удоем и белком, а у дочерей Бодо 354239752 (r0,68) между жиром и белком. Отмечены дочери с отрицательной коррелятивной связью между удоем и жиром, это свидетельствует о том, что в этих группах с высокой молочной продуктивностью отбор коров по жирномолочности не обеспечивает повышение белковомолочности. Самый короткий сервиспериод (98 дней) характерен для дочерей Магикон 536522893, наиболее длинный у дочерей Dinom Altatyson 66133528 и Short Cut 3504510619. Используемые быкипроизводители в хозяйстве реализуют свой потенциал в более сжатые сроки, что необходимо учитывать при дальнейшем их закреплении.The results of estimation of Holstein sires based on milk productivity and reproductive qualities of their daughters are presented .The findings of 563 heifers and 45 bullsfathers were processed.on average, the milk yield of daughters for 1 lactation from different fathers ranged from 6784 to 7789 kg, theee were not found any differences in the content of fat and protein in milk.most producers had a desirable degree of realization of genetic potential. The level of milking cows on the 1st lactation reliably determines their further productivity. Daughters of ClearEc Altar2 had a positive correlation (0.44) between milk yield and protein, and daughters of Bodo bull 354239752 (r0.68) between fat and protein. Daughters with a negative correlation between milk yield and fat were noted, this indicates that the selection of cows by fat content does not provide an increase in protein content in these groups with high milk productivity. The shortest service period (98 days) are typical for daughters of Magikon 536522893, the longest the daughters Dinom Altatyson 66133528 and Short Cut 3504510619.sires, used in farming, realize their potential in a shorter time, which should be taken into account in their further consolidation.

Assisted reproductive technologies have modernized the dairy industry for the rapid multiplication of superior genetic traits. However, the exploitation of genetics through in vitro embryo production in farm animals has been struggling during the last 3 decades. The presence or absence of a corpus luteum (CL) on ovaries from which cumulus-oocyte complexes were recovered has been shown to affect the quality of oocytes and in vitro embryo production outcome in Bos taurus cows. Similar information is lacking in Bos indicus cows. Therefore, the objectives of the present study were to determine the effect of presence or absence of a CL on recovery rate, quality, and in vitro developmental competence of oocytes in Bos indicus dairy cows. This study was conducted from December 2017 to April 2018. The ovaries were harvested from a local abattoir (Bos indicus; 5- to 8-year-old cows having mixed parity with clinically normal reproductive tracts). These ovaries (n=750) were divided into 2 groups [(1) CYCLIC (n=318) and (2) ACYCLIC (n=432)] based on the presence or absence of mature CL having follicles on either left or right ovaries of slaughtered cows. Blood samples from the jugular vein were collected at slaughter. Serum concentrations of progesterone of CYCLIC and ACYCLIC cows were measured using radioimmunoassay. Mean number of recovered oocytes per ovary and serum concentration of progesterone were compared using PROC TTEST model. However, quality, maturation, cleavage, 8-cell, 16-cell, and morula rates were analysed by PROC FREQ model of Chi-squared. All the data was analysed using SAS (SAS Institute Inc., Cary, NC, USA). Results revealed that the mean serum concentrations of progesterone (4.21±0.4v. 0.5±0.2ng mL−1; P&lt;0.05) were higher in CYCLIC as compared with ACYCLIC cows, respectively. The mean number of oocytes recovered per ovary (6.5±4.5v. 4.0±4.4; P&lt;0.05) was higher in CYCLIC than in ACYCLIC cows. The oocytes with grade I+II quality (55.3v. 47.6%; P&lt;0.05) were higher, whereas oocytes with grade III+IV quality (44.5v. 52.4%; P&lt;0.05) were lower, in CYCLIC as compared with ACYCLIC cows, respectively. Furthermore, cleavage rate (70.9v. 52.8%; P&lt;0.05) was higher in CYCLIC than in ACYCLIC cows, respectively. Similarly, the 8-cell (38.5v. 20.8%; P&lt;0.05) and 16-cell (20.0v. 10.9%; P&lt;0.05) stage embryos were greater in CYCLIC as compared with ACYCLIC cows, respectively. In conclusion, the presence of CL has a beneficial effect on recovery rate, quality, and in vitro embryo production outcomes in Bos indicus dairy cows. It is implied that for ovum pickup, cyclic cows should be preferred.

The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between fabric property and Clothing Pressure of knitted underwear, using objective pressure evaluates method. Eight kinds of fabric for knitted underwear were tested on the stretching property and elasticity property, and then eight same style of underwear which were made by Eight kinds of fabric were tried on by pressure dummy. Clothing pressure of seven different points was measured and recorded. The linear relationship between fabric property and Clothing Pressure of knitted underwear was obtained. Results showed that Clothing Pressure of knitted underwear was negative correlation with elastic recovery rate of knitted fabric, and was positive correlation with tensile stretch rate.

This experiment was conducted for evaluation of bovine slaughterhouse ovary, follicles, and cumulus-oocyte-complexes (COCs) and to compare the effect of collection techniques on the recovery rate of COCs.  The collected slaughterhouse ovaries was classified as corpus luteum present (CL+) and corpus luteum absent (CL-) groups.  It was found that 62.5% of the ovaries collected were CL- type and 37.5% were CL+ type.  For collection of COCs, blunt dissection and aspiration techniques were performed and number of follicles collected was recorded.  The higher number of follicles were dissected and aspirated from CL - ovaries (11.2±1.8and 37.8±14.9, respectively) compared to CL+ ovaries 10.5±1.5and 28.3±15.6, respectively).  The follicular materials collected from both techniques were observed under microscope to categorize the COCs as A (oocyte surrounded with cumulous cells homogenously), B (oocyte surrounded with cumulous cells partially), C (oocyte not surrounded at all by cumulous cells) and D (degeneration observed both in oocyte and cumulous cells).  Grade A and grade B were classified as normal and grade C and grade D were considered as abnormal COCs.  The result indicated that ovaries having no CL contributing more total number of COCs per ovary (6.8±1.0) and also contributing higher normal COCs (5.7±0.9) than that of ovaries with CL (6.0±2.0 and 4.5±1.5, respectively) in blunt dissection technique.  But same trend of result was not found in aspiration technique.  Similarly, higher percentage of COCs recovery rate was also recorded in blunt dissection (61.6±4.6% vs 16.5±4.9%, on total basis) than aspiration (48.6±2.9% vs 11.7±4.1%, on normal basis) technique.  So, ovaries without CL and blunt dissection technique found more suitable for harvesting the higher number and superior quality of COCs for extending the in vitro embryo production experiment.Bang. ABSTRACT. Superovulasi merupakan suatu metode pemanfaatan induk betina unggul untuk menghasilkan embrio sebanyak-banyaknya untuk kegiatan transfer embrio. Tujuan penelitian ini membandingkan 2 teknik superovulasi yang berbeda pada sapi persilangan Belgian Blue. Penelitian dilakukan di Balai Embrio Ternak Cipelang Bogor dengan menggunakan 24 ekor sapi persilangan Belgian Blue dengan umur 2-3 tahun, masing-masing perlakuan 12 ekor. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimen dengan dua perlakuan, P1 = Superovulasi menggunakan penyuntikan FSH selama 3 hari pada pagi dan sore (metode konvensional) dengan dosis 400 mg FSH dalam 20 ml pelarut dan P2 = Superovulasi menggunakan penyuntikan tunggal (satu kali) FSH dengan dosis 400 mg FSH dalam 3 ml pelarut . Parameter pada penelitian ini adalah Jumlah Corpus luteum (CL), respon rate, perolehan embrio, kualitas embrio, recovery rate, dan tingkat fertilisasi. Data yang diperoleh diuji dengan uji T tidak berpasangan. Hasil analisa data menunjukkan hasil yang tidak berbeda nyata (P0,05) pada jumlah CL P1 : 8,42+3,06 dan P2 : 6,08+4,74; Respon rate P1 : 100% dan P2 : 75%; Total perolehan embrio P1 : 6,08+2,64 embrio dan P2 : 4,45+4,01 embrio; Embrio recovery rate P1 : 70,37+9,18% dan P2 : 61,33+12,12%; Embrio Layak Transfer P1 : 3,83+2,92 embrio dan P2 : 2,73+2,28 embrio; dan berbeda nyata (P0,05) pada rataan fertilisasi P1 : 79,10% dan P2 : 95,26%. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah teknik superovulasi penyuntikan tunggal FSH secara subkutan memberikan efek superovulasi dan menghasilkan embrio dengan jumlah dan kualitas yang tidak berbeda nyata dengan teknik superovulasi konvensional. (Superovulation Responses of Belgian Blue Crossbreed Cattle Treated with Different Superovulation Methods) ABSTRAK. Superovulation is a technique for producing a large number of embryos for embryo transfer using a genetically superior female. The purpose of this research was to compare two alternative methods of superovulation in Belgian Blue crossbreed cattle. The study used 24 Belgian Blue crossbred cattle aged 2-3 years, including 12 cows per treatment, at the National Livestock Embryo Center of Cipelang in Bogor. The research was done in an experimental setting using two different treatments, P1 = Superovulation using twice daily FSH injections for three days at a dose of 400 mg FSH dissolved in 20 ml of saline, and P2 = Superovulation using FSH single injections at a dose of 400 mg FSH dissolved in 3 ml of saline. The parameters in this study were the number of corpus luteum (CL), response rate, total number of embryo/ova collection, embryo quality, recovery rate, and fertilization rate. The data obtained were tested by unpaired T test. The results of data analysis showed results that were not significantly different (P0.05) on the number of CL P1 : 8.42+3.06 and P2 : 6.08+4.74; Response rate P1 : 100% and P2 : 75%; Total number of embryos collection P1 : 6.08+2.64 embryos and P2 : 4.45+4.01 embryos; Embryo recovery rate P1 : 70.37+9.18% and P2 : 61.33+12.12%; Transferable Embryos P1 : 3.83+2.92 embryos and P2 : 2.73+2.28 embryos; and significantly different (P0.05) on fertilization rate P1 : 79.10% and P2 : 95.26%. The conclusion of this study show that the subcutaneous FSH single injection technique induces superovulation and produces embryos that are similar in number and quality to those produced by conventional superovulation techniques.

Context In vivo embryo production, also called multiple ovulation and embryo transfer, can accelerate genetic gain, and thus improve animal production. However, there are issues limiting a wider use of this biotechnology in sheep livestock. Aims This study aimed to determine (1) whether a previous response to superovulation (SOV) can be used as a criterion to select ewes for in vivo embryo production, (2) whether the intensity of the SOV response (number of corpora lutea, CL) can affect the embryo recovery rate, and (3) whether the number of CL quantified by colour Doppler ultrasonography can be used to calculate the recovery rate. Methods Twenty-five Santa Inês ewes underwent SOV three times (SOV1, SOV2 and SOV3), with 200 mg FSH and natural mating. The number of CL after each SOV was determined by laparoscopy and by colour Doppler ultrasonography. Key results The number of CL significantly decreased (P &lt; 0.05) after SOV1 (7.5 ± 4.8) to 3.0 ± 5.0 at SOV 2 and 2.2 ± 3.5 at SOV3. Strong correlations were observed between SOV2 and SOV3 in terms of numbers of CL (r = 0.86, r2 = 0.74; P &lt; 0.0001) and viable embryos (r = 0.79, r2 = 0.63; P &lt; 00001). However, no correlations were observed between SOV1 and SOV2 or between SOV1 and SOV3. Recovery rate did not differ with the intensity of the SOV response (≤6, 7–10, &gt;10 CL) or between the methods used to quantify CL. Conclusions Ewes did not show the same pattern of response when submitted to successive FSH-based SOV. The intensity of the SOV response did not affect the recovery rate, and the number of CL estimated by colour Doppler ultrasonography can be used to calculate the recovery rate. Implications Selecting sheep embryo donors by a previous SOV response is not always feasible. The recovery rate is homogeneous and it is not affected by the intensity of the SOV response. A nonsurgical technique can be used to assess the recovery rate, improving animal welfare in MOET programs.

The objective was to utilize in vitro maturation and fertilization to maximize embryo production from culled dairy cows. Ovaries were removed (via a colopotomy technique) from culled Holstein cows (n = 21) 2 d after standing estrus (T1), 2 d after treatment with 40 mg follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) given at standing estrus (T2), or at an unknown stage of the estrous cycle (T3).Treatment with FSH increased (P < 0.05) oocyte recovery rate (mean ± SEM, 14.6 ± 2.2, 25.4 ± 3.4, and 11.1 ± 2.6 oocytes ovary–1), for groups T1, T2 and T3, respectively, and the number of blastocysts obtained (1.6 ± 0.5, 4.4 ± 0.4 and 1.6 ± 0.6 blastocysts ovary–1). Culled dairy cows of high genetic merit are potential embryo donors, with an average of six to eight transferable embryos obtained from each FSH-treated cow. The article deals with the interconnection and interdependence of phraseological semantic fields of Russian study of aphorisms in synchronic and in diachronic approaches. The correlation of phraseological semantic fields of Russian study of aphorisms is considered as their interdependence due to various factors (linguistic and extra-linguistic ones). The correlation of the phraseological semantic fields of Russian study of aphorisms is manifested in the existence of many antinomies. The natural linguistic antinomies of life / death / immortality or war / peace, or good / evil, or friend / enemy, or villainy / nobility are reflected in Russian aphorisms and have entered the corresponding phraseological semantic fields. The corpus of Russian study of aphorisms containsnot only antinomic aphorisms, but also antinomic relations that extend to the level of language and speech. Therefore, in Russian study of aphorisms there are phraseological semantic fields that implement these antinomies. In addition to the antinomic phraseological semantic fields in the corpus of classical Russian study of aphorisms there are other types of correlations. The keywords (concepts) of many phraseological semantic fields are closely thematically connected. When the number of units from one field is changed, the number of units in another phraseological semantic field also changes. Most phraseological semantic fields of Russian study of aphorisms do not show a zero correlation in either synchronic or diachronic approaches. This is due to, first of all, the universality of the aphoristic theme, with all the ideological and thematic uniqueness of the sayings used by Russian writers. However, a few phraseological and semantic fields of aphorisms by Russian writers may show a negative correlation, which is due to the diversity of the thematic groups that comprise them. A positive correlation of phraseological semantic fields, the most significant in the number of their constituent components, shows deep internal linguistic systemic connections in Russian classical study of aphorisms.

The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), has quickly developed into a worldwide pandemic. Mutations in the SARS-CoV-2 genome may affect various aspects of the disease including fatality ratio. In this study, 553,518 SARS-CoV-2 genome sequences isolated from patients from continents for the period 1 December 2020 to 15 March 2021 were comprehensively analyzed and a total of 82 mutations were identified concerning the reference sequence. In addition, associations between the mutations and the case fatality ratio (CFR), cases per million and deaths per million, were examined. The mutations having the highest frequencies among different continents were Spike_D614G and NSP12_P323L. Among the identified mutations, NSP2_T153M, NSP14_I42V and Spike_L18F mutations showed a positive correlation to CFR. While the NSP13_Y541C, NSP3_T73I and NSP3_Q180H mutations demonstrated a negative correlation to CFR. The Spike_D614G and NSP12_P323L mutations showed a positive correlation to deaths per million. The NSP3_T1198K, NS8_L84S and NSP12_A97V mutations showed a significant negative correlation to deaths per million. The NSP12_P323L and Spike_D614G mutations showed a positive correlation to the number of cases per million. In contrast, NS8_L84S and NSP12_A97V mutations showed a negative correlation to the number of cases per million. In addition, among the identified clades, none showed a significant correlation to CFR. The G, GR, GV, S clades showed a significant positive correlation to deaths per million. The GR and S clades showed a positive correlation to number of cases per million. The clades having the highest frequencies among continents were G, followed by GH and GR. These findings should be taken into consideration during epidemiological surveys of the virus and vaccine development.
