The aim of the paper is to explain beef consumption through the economic indicators and the prediction tendencies of beef consumption. There are countries like Slovakia that confirm the opposite trend despite the global trend of consumption growth. In terms of the ecosystems' sustainability, beef production should be adjusted accordingly, as in the case of Slovakia. We focus on the economic aspect of beef consumption from the perspective of sustainability. Commodity prices are considered to be a significant factor influencing consumption and the behaviour of beef consumers. Despite increasing income in Slovakia, consumption of beef covers only 30% of recommended doses in the year 2018. To achieve the objective of the research, we decided to use the calculation of price and income elasticity of food demand using the Almost Ideal Demand System (AIDS) model to analyse meat consumption trends. The findings confirm that beef consumption will decline in Slovakia in the following years, and it will be progressively replaced by pork and poultry meat.

Studies on the meat market behavior may result in interesting parameters for the market and public policy agents. The definition of the income-elasticity of poultry consumption enables the elaboration of prospective analysis on the potential demand of this product. Thus, the main objective of the present study is to estimate the income-elasticities of poultry consumption. Data from the 1995-96 and 1987-88 Consumer Expenditure Survey, published by IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics), were used in the analysis. The elasticities were obtained by fitting a three-segment polygonal curve relating the logarithm of the per capita poultry meat consumption as a function of the per capita family income. Generalized Least Squares method was used for the econometric model fitting. The elasticities were obtained considering the total, carcasses and selected individual poultry parts consumption. Average income elasticity of the total consumption enables the classification of poultry meat as a normal product. The observed average income elasticities showed that breast and thighs are superior products. In the last period, a negative elasticity was observed for carcasses.

On the basis of detailed, combined rock-magnetic, lithological, and micropaleontological study of the Mikhailovtsement section of the Moscow syneclise (Ryazan region), the fluctuations in Central Russian Sea level in Callovian–Early Oxfordian were reconstructed. According to the variations of rock-magnetic parameters over the section, seven rock-magnetic intervals were established which correspond to different stages of basin evolution. These stages are compared with sea level fluctuations established on the basis of changes in the lithology of rocks and the ostracod complexes. In general, the nature of sea level change in Callovian–Oxfordian, revealed by combination of the methods during the study of Mikhailovtsement section coincides with global trend.

Using the matrix of growth it is possible to examine, in a specific way, structural relations of growth in order to discover the mutual influences of activities and their linking into systems. Considering that different sorts of meat can substitute one another in nutrition, during the observation of the dynamics of the consumption of a certain sort of meat, its change should be observed as a function of a scope of the consumption of other sorts of meat in the analyzed time period. This work's subject is an analysis of trends of the consumption of different sorts of meat in Central Serbia, in the period from 1994 to 2007, via the matrix of the consumption growth.

ABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pola konsumsi ikan di Indonesia dan mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi permintaan ikan menurut karakteristik rumah tangga di Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan data SUSENAS yang dilaporkan oleh Badan Pusat Statistik pada bulan Maret 2016. Pola konsumsi ikan dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan model permintaan ikan dianalisis dengan menggunakan pendekatan model Linnear Approximation Almost Ideal Demand System (LA/AIDS). Hasil riset menunjukkan bahwa pola konsumsi rumah tangga di Indonesia dikelompokkan menjadi konsumsi ikan air laut segar sebesar 22.10 kg/kapita/tahun, ikan air tawar/payau segar sebesar 16.75 kg/kapita/tahun, udang segar sebesar 9.58 kg/kapita/tahun dan ikan olahan sebesar 4.22 kg/kapita/tahun. Dugaan model permintaan memberikan hasil cukup baik dengan 82.15% dari semua peubah berpengaruh signifikan terhadap fungsi permintaan kelompok ikan dan koefisien determinasi sebesar 27.06%. Nilai elastisitas pendapatan mengindikasikan bahwa seluruh kelompok ikan merupakan barang normal dan ikan olahan cenderung inelastis, sedangkan dari nilai elastisitas harga menunjukkan tanda negatif yang sesuai dengan teori ekonomi. Nilai elastisitas silang antar kelompok ikan menunjukkan hubungan yang bervariasi antar kelompok. Implikasi kebijakan yang dapat disarankan untuk meningkatkan konsumsi ikan segar adalah dengan peningkatan ketersediaan ikan melalui kebijakan peningkatan produksi dan peningkatan efektifitas distribusi ikan. Kebijakan promosi dan edukasi masih diperlukan untuk meningkatkan konsumsi ikan olahan karena sifatnya yang inelastis  terhadap perubahan harga dan pendapatan.Title: Analysis of Fish Consumption Patterns and Fish Demand Model Based on Household’s Characteristics in IndonesiaABSTRACTThis study aims to describe the pattern of fish consumption in Indonesia and to identify factors affecting household’s fish demand in Indonesia as well as estimating the elasticities of income and price. The data analyzed were mainly obtained from the SUSENAS Database-a nation social economy survey  conduct by the Indonesian Bureau of Statistic (BPS- during march 2016. Fish consumption patterns were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis, while fish demand models were analyzed by Linnear Approximation Almost Ideal Demand System (LA/AIDS). Research shows that household consumption patterns in Indonesia are grouped into consumption of marine fish at 22.10 kg / capita / year, freshwater/brackish fish at 16.75 kg / capita / year, fresh shrimp at 9.58 kg / capita / year and processed fish amounted to 4.22 kg / capita / year. The estimation of the demand model gives quite good results with82,15% of all variables have a significant effect on the demand function of fish groups and the coefficient of determination is 27.06%. The value of income elasticity showed that all fish groups are normal goods and were negatively related to prices. The cross elasticities showed variation relationship between fish groups. With such result, in order for the government to be able to push the fish consumption level furtherwould require an increasing fish availbility through policies to increase production and effectiveness of fish distribution for fresh fish. Meanwhile education and promotion policies are necessary to increase consumption of processed fish because of their inelastic demand for changes in prices and income.

Households consume animal protein after carbohydrate food is fulfilled, moreover animal protein prices are increasing. This study aims to analyze the effect of rising beef prices on demand. The demand system approach uses the Quadratic Almost Ideal Demand System (QUAIDS) model. Estimation of parameters using Iterated non-linear Seemingly Unrelated Regression. The research data use the 2016 National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas, 2016), amounting to 10,751 households. The results of the study concluded that beef is the third most elastic animal food after fresh fish and chicken meat. Fresh fish in the most elastic among all animal foods with a demand elasticity of 3.31%, followed by chicken, beef, milk powder, and eggs with demand elasticities of 1.55%, 1.62%, 1.29%, and 0.80%, respectively. Beef is a luxury item with an income elasticity of 1.59%, as well as fresh fish, chicken meat, and milk powder. While eggs are normal goods. Although fresh fish is more elastic than beef, beef marginal expenditure share (MES) is higher than fresh fish MES, so that in the long run, the increase in household income tends to increase beef consumption more than fresh fish.
