GEOPROCESSING TECHNIQUES IN THE CHARACTERIZATION OF APPS IN MICROBABY, IN THE FUNCTION OF ENVIRONMENTAL LEGISLATIONABSTRACT: This work aimed at the use of geoprocessing techniques in the discrimination of classes of land use and occupation in areas of PPA, allowing the confirmation of future anthropogenic interventions that will aid in environmental inspections. The microbasin with 183.19 ha lies between the geographic coordinates 22o 44' 41"at 22o 45' 41" latitude S and 48o 24' 13"at 48o 25' 01" WGr longitude. The cartographic base used was the Botucatu topographic chart for the georeferencing of the satellite image of 2008. The SIG-IDRISI Selva was used in the supervised classification and the determination of thematic maps. Land use showed that pasture occupies most of the area (85.61%), thus showing the predominance of regional livestock. Satellite imagery and the use of GIS have proved to be important tools, providing reliable results in a short time. The data obtained will aid in the future recovery planning of the microbasin, making it possible to verify that the area is not environmentally preserved, since it presents only 14.38% of vegetation and water, and the minimum required by the Brazilian Forestry Code is of 20%.KEYWORDS: Environmental legislation, geographical information system, environmental preservation.

Palavras-chaves: Sistema de Informação Geográfica, Geoprocessamento, Preservação Ambiental   GEOMATICS APPLIED IN CONFLICT ANALYSIS OF LAND USE IN PERMANENT PRESERVATION AREAS   ABSTRACT: This study aim obtaining the land use of Araquazinho River watershed, São Manuel, SP, using satellite image and geomatic techniques to determine the Permanent Preservation Areas (PPAs) and area conflicts. Abstract This paper reviews the use of the Bristow Absorption Tester (known also as the Bristow wheel) in the characterization of fiber-based substrates. The Bristow wheel is a laboratory-scale instrument that has been designed for studying substrate wettability and dynamic liquid absorption properties in short time intervals, which are important in many converting and printing processes of paper and paperboard. The tester also gives information about substrate roughness. The Bristow wheel has shown great usefulness in predicting print quality especially in inkjet applications, in which a good correlation between print quality (letter area) and ink penetration rate has been found by several researchers. The apparatus is particularly useful in dynamic wetting studies, but it has also been successfully used in numerous other research purposes such as the determination of the degree of sizing, evaluation of material glueability, and various coatability studies. Modifications of both the testing principle and the tester structure have also been reported. These include e. g. equipping the apparatus with a corona unit that makes it possible to mimic a printing process on a relevant time-scale. This review summarizes the reported applications of Bristow wheel with a special focus on tester performance and versatility.

CP 237, CEP 18603-970. LAND USE CAPABILITY DETERMINATION OF SÃO MANUEL MUNICIPALITY-SP   2 ABSTRACT  The present work purposed a land use capability chart development from São Manuel Municipality-SP using a Geographical Information System - Idrisi aiming to contribute for a better territorial organization and soil occupation planning. The basin is located in the 22º 28’ 20” geographical co-ordinates at 22º 53’ 10” S latitude, 48º 21’ 52” and 48º 48’ 00” meridian of W Gr. longitude, presenting an area of 9180,12ha.  The chart of the basin land use capability was elaborated from the soil and sloping class charts based on each one characteristics and using the class table of use capability. The class and subclass areas determined through the Geographical Information System IDRISI presented the following values: IIe,s (22,64%), IIIe (8,62%), IIIe,s (15,83%), IIIs (29,97%), IVe (10,82%), VIe (3,95%) and VIIe (0,96%).  The results allowed to infer that the most significant sub classes were IIIs and IIe,s. The 0 to 20% sloping classes have occurred in more than ¾ of the district. Plane areas were the most significant since they occur in nearly 1/3 of the whole area. The Geographical Information System IDRISI has been an excellent tool to determine land use capability, specially related with geo-processing use. The later also facilitates the input, analysis and display of spatial environmental information as well as data digital storage which could be used for other analyses in further geo-environmental design.  KEYWORDS: Geoprocessing, land-use capability, Geographical Information Systems.

The multiple cropping index of farmland is a significant characterization of land use intensity. Based on the NDVI data, this paper calculated the multiple cropping index of farmland in China using the S-G filtering method, and proposed an optimized regionalization scheme for the farmland use. The findings reveal that from 2000 to 2018, the multiple cropping index of farmland in China underwent the fluctuation of rising first, then falling and rising continuously, which was closely associated with the agricultural support policies enforced in China. Counties whose multiple cropping indexes decreased from 2009 to 2018 were mainly located in areas primarily producing grain, which exerted a greater influence on food security. The gap between the multiple cropping index and potential multiple cropping index of farmland is increasingly widening from north to south in China. Accordingly, four types of grain producing zones were delineated: key development zone, potential growth zone, appropriate development zone, and restricted development zone. Some suggestions, such as rotation, fallow, determination of yield by water and offsetting the quantity balance of farmland by increasing the multiple cropping index, are put forward based on different zones.

The land-use and land-cover (LULC) pattern of an area is an outcome of natural and socio-economic factors and their use spatially by man; this LULC varies from the forest, water body, agricultural land and so on. Remote Sensing (RS) and Geographical Information System (GIS) studies have predominantly focused on providing the technical knowledge of, where, and the type of LULC change that has occurred and its impacts on man and the environment. Knowledge about LULC changes is essential for understanding the relationships and interfaces between humans and the natural environment. The purpose of this article is to review the previous studies of the spatiotemporal LULC changes. However, thirty (30) articles were reviewed from 2011 to 2017. However, these articles studied the LULC, classification, changes and change detection analysis, using different methods and software of RS and G.I.S. The finding shows that these articles have overall accuracy assessment ranges from 75% to 95% validations. Also, supervised classification in Maximum Likelihood Algorithm method was mostly employed for the LULC classification. Moreover, these reviewed articles confirmed that LULC changes are imminent as a result of both natural and human factors which lead to increase and decrease of one LULC cover to another. Therefore proper monitoring of LULC changes when applied help the relevant government bodies, agencies and environmental managers utilise the environment to the fullest.

Palavras-chave: Sistema de Informação Geográfica; Uso e Ocupação do Solo; Preservação Ambiental.GEOPROCESSING APPLIED IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF CONFUSED GODS AND SOIL OCCUPATION IN AREAS OF PERMANENT PRESERVATION IN THE STREAM OF THE AGULHAS - BOTUCATU (SP)ABSTRACTThe permanent preservation areas (PPA) have environmental function of preserving natural resources, biodiversity, gene flow of fauna and flora, the soil and the safety of the well-being of human populations. While the degradation of riparian forests contributes to silting, water turbidity increase and the erosion of the banks of waterways, carrying pollutants, such as pesticides and agricultural fertilizers. The objective of this work was to determine the inadequate use of the permanent preservation areas of Stream of the Agulhas - Botucatu (SP) microbasin, based on cartography, Botucatu planialtimetric chart and satellite image of 2011. The methodology consisted of the use of SIG-IDRISI Jungle to perform image georeferencing, generation of PPA buffer and overlay in obtaining conflicts of use and occupation in PPA. The great use of the microbasin corresponded to pastures with 675.34ha. PPA (166, 10 ha) are being used inadequately for 93.33ha with pasture. The diagnosis of these areas of the microbasin indicates the need for an intervention linked to the environmental protection plan for the recovery of the degraded areas and consequently to allow a regeneration of the natural coverage of the PPA that are being used without respecting the Brazilian environmental legislation. The geotechnology tools are essential to obtain the diagnosis of land use and occupation in PPA in the area. Keywords: GIS; Land Use; Environmental Preservation.SIG APLICADOS EN EL DIAGNÓSTICO DE CONFLICTOS DE USO Y OCUPACIÓN DEL SUELO EN ÁREAS DE PRESERVACIÓN PERMANENTE EN EL RÍO DE LAS AGULHAS – BOTUCATU (SP)RESUMENLas Áreas de Preservación Permanente (APP) tienen una función ambiental para preservar los recursos naturales, la biodiversidad, el flujo genético de fauna y flora, el suelo y la seguridad del bienestar de las poblaciones humanas.

The orange-yellow and colorless essential oils with respective yields of 1.54% and 3.59% were extracted from the dry leaves of Cymbopogoncitratus (DC.) Stapf and Eucalyptus citriodora Hook. collected south of Brazzaville. Analysis by gas chromatography (GC) and by gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC/MS) allowed the identification of fifteen (15) and eight (8) constituents representing (96.25%) and (98.46%) of total essential oils respectively. Cymbopogoncitratus oil consists mainly of geranial (51.99%) and neral (32.94%), two geometric isomers constituting citral which occupies a rate of 84.93%. While citronellal with a high level of (80.72%) and citronellol (10.48%) are the major compounds of the essential oil of Eucalyptus citriodora. Geranial (citral a) and citronellal 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazones were hemi-synthesized by a simple, easy method, respectively from essential oils of Cymbopogoncitratus and Eucalyptus citriodora with respective conversion rate (yields) of 20%. and 37%, in a short time (three to five minutes). Analysis of geranial and citronellal 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazones by UV-visible spectrophotometry showed maximum absorption wavelengths of 390 nm and 370 nm respectively. The UV-visible spectrophotometric method employed for the determination of these hydrazones is convenient, fast and simple. The hemi-synthesized hydrazones could be useful in the pharmaceutical industry, in perfumery, cosmetic and in biomedicine.
