New possibilities of environmentally safe hop protection against pests and diseases with the help of botanical pesticides, basic substances and bio-fungicides

Abstract Since past few decades, application of essential oils (EOs) was explored experimentally for the management of postharvest pests and diseases. However, uses of essential oils face a series of problems, including regulatory obstruction to commercialization (such as cost of toxicological and environmental assessments) or the way that efficiency of essential oils toward pests and diseases is not as evident or clear as that seen with the present available forms. This review highlights several issues extending from EOs chemistry to their bioactivity potential. The mechanism of action of EOs is also discussed to provide better understanding about their functions and improve the scope for the establishment of commercial opportunities in the form of natural biocontrol agents/botanical pesticides.

Nowadays, immediate environmental friendly solutions such as the use of biopesticides and other methods to control and manage pests are well needed. They are imperative due to the continuous accumulation of toxic residues from synthetic insecticides into the environment, the contamination of global agro-ecosystem and resistance of certain insects and pathogens. The global renewed interest of botanical pesticides does not leave aside Turkey. Thus, many environmental reports pointed out contaminations in different regions of Turkey by chemical pesticide residues, like lambda-cyhalothrin in some conventional grapes farming in the Aegean region. The use of botanical pesticides like Pyrethrin extracted from Pyrethrum’s flowers (Chrysanthemum cinerariifolium) is part of sustainable agriculture goals to reduce the incidence of pests and diseases without any alteration to the natural balance. The purpose of this review is to analyse and identify the possibilities of Pyrethrum production in Turkey. Various research works around the world were compiled and some key informants were correlated to existing researches in Turkey. Subsequently, it was found that the Black-Sea region of Turkey has great potential in the growing and industrial production of Pyrethrum by its weather patterns (temperatures, pluviometry and humidity) and soil characteristics. The region has a similar climate with the East-African high-lands well-known for Pyrethrum production. Thus, the country has shown great technological advances and the capacity to produce vegetative and disease-free clones for other ornamental plants by using tissue culture techniques. Therefore, the multiplication of high-quality vegetative clones of Chrysanthemum cinerariifolium and their maintenance can sustain commercial and long term production of Pyrethrum in Turkey.

The efforts to form a cadre of botanical pesticides user to reduce of synthetic pesticides used in vegetable have been carried out at Cisero Village, Cirapuhan Subdistrict, Garut Regency, West Java Province. These efforts were carried out through the workshop method. Through this method, we increased the understanding of candidates in synthetic pesticides used impact by film media and discussions, trained in inventory and extract method of botanical pesticide, testing and evaluating extracts potential in controlling vegetable pests and diseases. Farmers participating in the workshop were selected by the farmer groups target and was delimitated to six peoples. Cadres of botanical pesticide user were determined based on the attendance level, an understanding the rise of pesticide impact use; interests, activities, and practical ability during the workshop. In the implementation, the attendance at the workshop was 15 participants (250% of the target), although the attendance average was below 100%, with a minimum attendance of 70%. Only 6 participants reached 100 % attendance and actively participated in all workshop processes. Based on the evaluation results, only 6 participants (40%) could be selected as cadres. However, to increase their confidence in using plant resources as a substitute/complement to synthetic pesticides is still need further guidance.

The experiment was conducted in the field laboratory of the Department of Entomology, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh on the screening of resistant variety against jute apion, Apion corchori (Marshall) and its management by using some chemical and botanical pesticides during April to August 2014. Eleven jute varieties were selected to conduct varietal preference and tested against jute apion in field condition. Among the eleven varieties, O-9897 showed the higher leaf infestation than others showing statistically similar result with O-72 and O-795. Mean percent of leaf infestation was 55.64 in O-9897 while 28.07 in BJRI Deshi pat-5, 24.89 in CVL-1, 22.11 in BJRI Deshi pat-7, 29.64 in CC-45, 24.08 in BJRI Deshi pat-8, 27.99 in D-154, 51.42 in O-795, 26.37 in BJRI Deshi pat-6, 55.53 in O-72 and 39.45 in CVE-3. The lowest leaf infestation was found in BJRI Deshi pat-7 (22.11%) which was statistically similar to BJRI Deshi pat-8 (24.08%). The same trend of results was observed in case of the number of knot plant-1 and the highest knot was recorded in O-795 followed by O-72. Data revealed that the variety O-9897 was highly susceptible to jute apion followed by O-72 and O-795 whereas BJRI Deshi pat -7 had the resistant potentiality against jute apion followed by BJRI Deshi pat-8 and CVL-1. The overall preference rank of the varieties based on their resistance against jute apion was in the following order: BJRI Deshi pat-7>BJRI Deshi pat-8>CVL-1 > BJRI Deshi pat-6> D-154>BJRI Deshi pat-5> CC-45>CVE-3>O-795>O-72>O-9897. In the management study, two synthetic insecticides viz., Limper 10EC, Diginol 60EC and two botanicals viz., Neem oil and Mahogany oil were evaluated. Considering different parameters, comparatively less leaf infestation percent, number of hole leaf-1 and number of knot plant-1 was found with Diginol 60EC treated plot followed by Limper 10EC treated plot. The highest infestation was found in the control plot followed by Mahogany oil applied plot.  The rank of the efficacy of the treatments was Diginol>Limper>Neem oil>Mahogany oil>control. It could be concluded that BJRI Deshi pat-7, BJRI Deshi pat-8 and CVL-1 was comparatively more resistant variety considering both leaf damage and number of knot plant-1 and local variety O-9897 followed by O-72 and O-795 was highly susceptible to Jute apion. This finding would be helpful to motivate the people to use botanical insecticides i.e., Neem oil for the management of jute apion in environmentally safe condition. Описаны технологические особенности процесса семеноводства, представлен видовой состав болезней и вредителей семенных растений в условиях исследований.The results of the original primary seed growing of root crops in cells at breeding and seed production centre of Poisk Agro Holding (Ramensky district, Moscow region) are given. Technological peculiarities of the process of seed production, species composition of pests and diseases of seed plants in terms of research are presented.

One of the modern selection tasks in vegetable growing is quality products improving, obtaining high yields of environmentally safe wide assortment vegetables. To the new varieties of vegetable crops including winter white cabbage are specified new requirements such as market competitiveness, resistance to unfavorable environmental conditions, heat resistance of the varieties and F1 hybrids. The article is shown investigation results about studies of exogenous treatment by solutions on the base of physiologically active compounds of hormonal nature on the started process of stem extension stage activation and flowering of winter white cabbage plants. For the first time in the Dagestan conditions has been studied the possibility of hormonal regulation of the premature stem extension stage and flowering prevention of winter white cabbage after the initiation of natural induction. In our studies with an early planting there are not more than 20% of blooming plants, most varieties showed a high propensity to premature stem extension stage and flowering. The possibility of the hormonal exogenous regulation of the unfavorable winter white cabbage flowering has been revealed. The most pronounced effect on the transition to stem extension stage and flowering were provided by auxin nature preparations. In particular, treatment with NAS at a dose of 5 mg / l significantly reduced the number of blossom plants, krezatsin (50 mg / l) had a similar effect, but it was less pronounced. The use of cabbage in winter crops makes it possible to obtain two or three yields per year from the same area. Creation and introduction into production of promising and high-yielding varieties and hybrids will allow increasing production and reducing its cost.

The successful conduct of disinfection measures largely depends on the availability of veterinary practice a highly efficient, environmentally safe disinfectants. In this regard, finding new highly efficient disinfectant remains relevant. Studies found that the "Polied" (OOO "Razvitie XXI Vek, Russia) can be attributed to the highly efficient and environmentally friendly means. Solutions "Polied" have a high disinfectant activity against smooth and rough surfaces in the laboratory against gram-positive, gram-negative bacteria, mycobacteria and spores of microorganisms. Studies have established that solutions should be "Polied" obezzarajivatmi E. coli (EA 1257) concentrations of 0.1% on smooth surfaces and Staphylococcus aureus concentration of 0.05% in 1 hour from the calculation of 0.25-0.3 litres/m2. Disinfection of rough test surfaces against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus occurred after treatment with 0,3% solution of 3-hour exposure, at a rate of 0.5 l/m2. It was also found that 1.0% solution "Polied" fully obezzarazhivatel test the surface of mycobacteria (PCs-5) and at double the 0.6% concentration for 24 hours. Disinfection of rough test surfaces contaminated with spores of B. cereus (PCs 96) was achieved with a 4.0% solution at twice the irrigation rate of 0.5 l/m2 at an exposure of 24 hours. Toxicity solutions of the drug "Polied" refer to "moderate" threat (hazard class 3) and low-hazard substances (4 hazard class) when applied to the skin, mucous membranes of the eyes, and inhalation exposure on the respiratory system.

In modern poultry farming the most urgent tasks are to search for and test new environmentally safe feed and economically justifi ed additives that stimulate productivity, positively aff ect the health of poultry, and consequently increase the livability of livestock and other important zootechnical traits. In order to maintain physiologically normal processes of life, metabolism and increase the level of productivity of poultry it needs mineral components and their chelated compounds. The purpose of this work was to increase the egg productivity of poultry by using the silicon-containing poly additive Nabicat in feeding young hens and laying hens. The researches have been carried out on the poultry cross Highsex Brown under the environments in CJSC “Poultry Farm “Volzhskaya” in the Sredneakhtubinsky area in the Volgograd region. In this paper, The optimal dose of the introduction of the silicon-containing poly additive Nabicat in the diets of young and laying hens of the cross Highsex Brown has been scientifi cally justifi ed and the biological value of using an organic form of silicon has been determined. The positive infl uence of the optimal dose of poly additive on growth, consumption, and digestibility, nutrient metabolism in the poultry body, as well as egg productivity and quality of the resulting egg has been revealed. Thus, the average egg productivity per 1 hen in the control group during the experiment period was 321,3 pcs., and in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd experimental groups it was 322,6 pcs., 325,8 and 325,7 pcs., which was higher than in the control group by 0,40 %, 1,40 and 1,37 %, respectively. The average egg weight in the 1st experimental group exceeded the control by 0,43 g or 0,68 %, in the 2nd experimental group by 1,16 g or 1,84 %, in the 3rd experimental group by 0,81 g or 1,28 %. The economic eff ectiveness of using the organic silicon additive in the composition of Nabicat poly additive in the feeding of laying hens has been proved. The economic eff ect due to the use of diff erent doses of the introduction of silicon-containing poly additive Nabicat in compound feed for laying hens of the 1st experimental group was 141,66 rubles, the 2nd experimental group 962,76 rubles, and the 3rd experimental group 821,89 rubles.
