Background: This review compare different Vocal Tract Discomfort (VTD) versions. This comparison is based on their validity and reliability parameters in the translation and adaptation process. We aimed to prepare numerical evidence to prove the validity of this easy screening tool. VTD is able to perform an accurate diagnosis of voice discomforts, particularly in primary stages. Methods: Articles were selected from databases including Google Scholar, PubMed, Science Direct and Scopus. Our relevant papers were gathered by searching the phrase: VTD in titles, abstracts, and keys. Studies not followed an adaptive procedure were excluded. Based on the selection criteria, out of 23 collected articles, eight were studied in this review. Results: Standard psychometric protocol steps were followed in all selected articles and simultaneously high reliability and validity were reported in their translation procedure. Such analogous results may confirm the efficacy of this research tool. Conclusion: This review affirms VTD, perceptual patient-based scale, as a valuable evaluation tool to investigate the occurrence of voice disorders. Based on its structure and performance, VTD can work as a quick and precise source for predicting vocal discomforts. Moreover, this capability can help professional therapists to plan more efficient treatment procedures. The other important advantage of VTD is its diagnostic and prognostic capacity to inform patients about their current and future conditions so that they would be motivated to follow treatment procedures more consistently.

Institutionalization is necessary for corporations to prevent economic, financial, legal, administrative, and technical chaos and thus improve performance. The concept of performance is the most supporting tool in conducting the control function in business management. While the amount of input and products in the forest industry in Turkey is rising, institutionalization is inadequate. This study attempts to methodologically develop and test scales for perceived institutionalization and perceived performance in furniture and panel businesses, which are two sub-sectors of the forest industry. Data was obtained in 35 cities between March and July 2017, through face-to-face interviews with 797 employees in 462 furniture businesses and 31 panel businesses. In the analysis of the study, content validity of the scales was evaluated through expert opinion and initial application, while construct validity was assessed by EFA and CFA. Cronbach alpha coefficient, CR, and AVE were used to evaluate reliability, while the suitability of perceived institutionalization and performance scale model was assessed through SEM. The scales have high reliability and validity, and an improvement in the institutionalization level of a business will result in improvements in performance (r=0.98). Through this methodological study, scales for perceived institutionalization and perceived performance in furniture and panel businesses operating in Turkey and the relationship between perceived institutionalization and perceived performance were explained by a model.

Purpose: To examine the validity and reliability of a novel futsal special performance test (FSPT) as a measure of futsal performance and skills. Methods: Thirty-six futsal players with different levels of experience were recruited and divided into 2 groups (elite and nonelite). Players participated in 4 sessions (at least 7 d apart): (1) familiarization session, (2) anaerobic power (Wingate test), (3) FSPT trial 1, and (4) FSPT trial 2. The FSPT was carried out on a futsal court (wooden sprung floor) and skills such as dribbling, rotation, long and short passing, and shooting were examined. Content validity was assessed by 6 experienced futsal coaches and instructors. Results: There was a significant correlation between FSPT and various aspects of anaerobic power (r = .5–.91; P ≤ .001). Moreover, significant large correlations were observed between test and retest of FSPT (r = .77; 95% confidence interval [CI], .56–.98; P ≤ .001). All instructors and coaches confirmed the content validity. There was high interrater reliability of the FSPT (r = .89; 95% CI, .85–.93; P < .001). FSPT total time (P = .001), penalty time (P = .022), and performance time (P = .001) were superior in elite relative to nonelite players. Anaerobic power was greater in elite players (P < .001). Conclusion: The results support the use of the FSPT to assess futsal players’ performance in conjunction with skill and anaerobic fitness.

Abstract Aim: Based on the National Health Service job evaluation scheme, we aimed to construct a quality indicator for Chinese nurses. Background: Because most nurses’ low job satisfaction has led to a high turnover rate, establishing a job evaluation system that truly reflects nurses' values has become the core of Chinese nursing work reform. Methods: Based on the literature review and Delphi method, a questionnaire containing 30 items was designed. By stratified sampling, nurses from six tertiary public hospitals in Beijing were selected. We collected 701 valid questionnaires. SPSS 24.0 was used to extract factors and analyze the questionnaire’s reliability and structural validity. Results: We retained 26 factors and divided them into four dimensions: Knowledge and Skills, Responsibility, Work/Environment, and Task Characteristics according to principal component analysis. The Cronbach’s α of four dimensions ranged from 0.890 to 0.923, indicating high reliability. The Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin value was 0.960, demonstrating good structural validity. Conclusions: The improved job evaluation system has strong reliability and validity and reflects the nurse’s job characteristics scientifically. Implications for Nursing Management: Nursing managers can apply this job evaluation model to formulate nurses' performance evaluation standards to improve their comprehensive ability.

Introduction: One of the popular questionnaires for screening neuropathic pain is the DN4 (Douleur Neuropathique 4) which has been translated into many languages and validated in different populations. So, we wanted to determine the Persian version of this questionnaire’s reliability and validity to differentiate neuropathic pain from other painful non-neuropathic conditions. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on 120 patients who suffered from chronic pain referred to the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department at the three great referral hospitals in Tehran, Iran in 2016. In this study, a modified version of DN4 was used to validate adding a question related to the appearance of pain in an especial joint and adding visual analogue scaling (VAS) score in each item. Results: The modified DN4 questionnaire had high reliability for assessing neuropathic pain with the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of 0.874. The correlation coefficients obtained by the retest intra-class correlation test ranged from 0.650 to 0.941. Also, the internal consistency of Spearman’s R coefficients ranged from 0.482 to 0.904. Test-retest reliability analysis also showed a higher intraclass correlation (ICC) value in the neuropathic than non-neuropathic pain group (0.85 vs0.73). The modified DN4 questionnaire could effectively discriminate neuropathic pain from non-neuropathic pain with the area under the curve (ROC) of 0.989 (95% CI: 971–1000, P < 0.001). The best cutoff value for the modified DN4 questionnaire to diagnose neuropathic pain was 5, yielding a sensitivity of 98.3% and a specificity of 90.3%. Conclusion: Applying the new modified Persian version of DN4 achieved by adding a VAS score and a new question related to the appearance of pain in an especial joint led to high reliability and validity for this tool to discriminate neuropathic from non-neuropathic pain.

Introduction: many studies have concluded that self-efficacy is an essential variable within the area of drug addictions and a key to maintaining abstinence and preventing relapses. The Situational Confidence Questionnaire by Annis et al. (1987), is one of the most used instruments to measure self-efficacy and has had various modifications. The Brief Situational Confidence Questionnaire (CBCS), is the shortest version with only 8 items. Objective: to obtain the factor validity and reliability of the CBCS with a clinical sample in residential modality. Method: the study was carried out with a sample of 41 volunteers patients, adolescents, and adults interned in a residential rehabilitation center. The evaluation met the standards for the development and review of instrumental studies. Results: after carrying out the exploratory factor analysis, the eight original items were left within a single factor which explains 71.39% of the variance, with a factor load between the ranges of .76 and .91, and with an internal consistency of .941. Discussion and conclusions: the Brief Situational Confidence Questionnaire presents an internal consistency with high reliability and acceptable factor loads, such as was found in other studies. Therefore, its use in Mexico is suggested as an evaluation tool in a clinical setting, with patients who are interned in a rehabilitation center. It is recommended to carry out replications with more representative and randomly selected samples. Furthermore, it is suggested to include confirmatory factor analysis to obtain greater certainty in the results.

Abstract. Varimax rotated principal component scores (VRPCS) have previously been offered as a possible solution to the non-orthogonality of scores for the Big Five factors. However, few researchers have examined the reliability and validity of VRPCS. To address this gap, we use a lab study and a field study to investigate whether using VRPCS increase orthogonality, reliability, and criterion-related validity. Compared to the traditional unit-weighting scoring method, the use of VRPCS enhanced the reliability and discriminant validity of the Big Five factors, although there was little improvement in criterion-related validity. Results are discussed in terms of the benefit of using VRPCS instead of traditional unit-weighted sum scores.

Community empowerment is a form of development which directly involves the community. In community empowerment program, the position of the community is as program consumer but as program producer instead. Community empowerment aims to achieve community independence and welfare. Zakat is a subsystem which can support community empowerment program. It’s consistent with the objective of zakat, which is material and spiritual wellbeing. To encourage the success of the program, there should be support from various parties, including companion and social capital supports. The purpose of the present study was determining the direct effects of companion and social capital on participant of zakat recipient and its impact of economic performance of zakat-receiving micro businessman. The present study used primary data by involving 72 zakat-receiving micro businesspeople (mustahik businesspeople) in Wonosari Sub-district, Gunung Kidul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. The research instrument was questionnaire with likert-5 scale which has high reliability and validity based on Cronbah Alpha and Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin values. The empirical model was analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM).The result of hypothesis test shows that companion and social capital affected the participation of zakat recipient, and the participation of zakat recipient affected the economic performance of zakat-receiving micro businessman.
