Este artigo propõe um procedimento para a pesquisa bibliográfica, tendo como principal resultado o mapeamento da coocorrência de palavras com base em palavras-chave específicas. Este procedimento foi desenvolvido para identificar as principais áreas de pesquisa em campos onde as palavras têm significados complexos e, muitas vezes, estão em fase de interpretação pré-paradigmáticas. Como é o caso da palavra "serviço", que serve como ilustração para este artigo. O procedimento mapeia a coocorrência de palavras, e identifica as presenças fracas ou fortes de palavras específicas em relação à produção de literatura acadêmica. O procedimento proposto, combinado com o apoio de especialistas, identifica palavras solares, planetárias e satélites em relação a um campo de pesquisa acadêmica específico. Como resultado, ele cria um mapa de conhecimento da produção acadêmica nas áreas de pesquisa abordadas pelo procedimento proposto. Desse modo, ele corrobora alguns entendimentos encontrados na literatura no que diz respeito aos termos identificados na coocorrência, como no caso do termo “serviço”: ciência, gestão, engenharia e design. No entanto, os resultados acima mencionados apontam para a necessidade de mais pesquisas sobre o termo "inovação em serviço”, devido ao fato dele ter um índice menor de ocorrência, quando comparado a outros termos. Recomenda-se fazer, ao aplicar este procedimento em pesquisas futuras, a análise com base no tempo da produção acadêmica.AbstractThis paper proposes a procedure for literature research, having as its main result a mapping of the co-occurrence of words based on specific keywords. This procedure was developed to identify the main areas of research in research fields where the keywords have complex meanings and, often, are on pre-paradigmatic interpretation stages. As is the case of the word ‘service’ that serves as illustration for this article. The procedure maps the co-occurrence of words, which can identify both weak and strong presence of specific words on academic literature production. The proposed procedure, combined with the support of experts, enables to identify solar, planetary and satellites words in relation to a specific academic research field. As a result, it creates a conceptual map of academic production in the research areas focused by the proposed procedure. Thereby, it corroborated some understandings found in the literature in respect to the terms identified in the co-occurrence, as in the case of service: science, management, engineering and design. However, the aforementioned results pointed to the need of further research about the term ‘service innovation’, due to the fact that it had a smaller index of occurrence when compared to other terms. Based on the retrieval of journals published on CNKI in the field of tourism, and the statistical analysis by Cite Space, this paper finds that: (1) in terms of the number of published papers, tourism research can be divided into three stages: infancy period in 1992-2000; Steady growth period in 2001-2011 years; Rapid decline period in 2012-2018 years. (2) The key institutions of tourism research are institutions of higher learning, among which Shaanxi Normal University and Zhongshan University have obvious institutional competitiveness. (3) Through the co-occurrence analysis of core authors and key words, eight core author groups and corresponding research fields can be divided. (4) The research direction of tourism mainly focuses on tourism industry, tourism resources, tourism development, tourist, the Belt and Road cultural tourism, rural tourism and city tourism. The future research will focus on the research direction of “big data”, “the Belt and Road tourism”, “poverty alleviation”, “global tourism” and “Rural Revitalization”.

In recent years, with the development of society, the awareness of environmental protection for people has been increasing. While ports promote the economic development and employment levels of port cities, they also have a negative impact on the environment of port cities. The sustainability of port cities is increasingly valued. Port cities face huge challenges, and their sustainability needs to be better understood. The purpose of this article is to review research on the sustainability of port cities. We used content analysis to classify and analyze the existing relevant literature, to learn about the hotspots and deficiencies of past research, and to propose future research directions. We found that port sustainability has become an increasingly important research topic during the past ten years. From the perspective of geographic research areas, European port cities are the hot spots for sustainability research. Regarding research fields, technologies, methods and measures to promote the sustainability of port cities are popular research topics. In terms of research methods, qualitative research plays an important role in the study of port city sustainability. Finally, guidance for future research on port city sustainability is proposed according to the review results.

Research on market orientation has evolved for more than two decades, and is now ripe for reflection on its paradigmatic and methodological moorings. We review market orientation research to understand research paradigms adopted in the studies using an operations research paradigm framework, and compare and contrast methodologies and research designs used in the literature. This study used the citation pearl-growing method to identify and review 137 studies on market orientation. The study finds a dominance of the positivist paradigm in the extant research, particularly in the North American journals. There have only been a few interpretive studies on market orientation in the past two decades. This study makes a case for methodological pluralism in the research on market orientation. The findings will benefit academia and practitioners in understanding the past research trends and identify potential future research areas. The review adds value to the literature in terms of presenting an overview of market orientation research, where the research field stands today, and where it is heading in the future.

Abstract With the advent of social media where customers have the technical ability to upload own content the change occurred in some of the communication habits online. This world of constant communication is a challenge for businesses as well researchers. Academic research in this area is bringing valuable insights into people attitudes and behaviour on the social media. What is the current situation and where the research field is heading is a question of high importance. This study uses the systematic approach to reviewing the literature and to show the development of publications produced at Czech universities. Although the results show an increasing number of studies, Czech research is lagging behind other similar countries. Compared with the best countries, it is lagging behind in the number of quotations per article. On the basis of these analyses, suggestions for future research that can help to promote future theory development are proposed.

Purpose Academic research on management consulting or having management consultancy as the main research field is huge as the sector is a strategic one for management innovation, but a systematic and updated literature review is missing. This paper aims to fill this gap by providing a comprehensive systematic review of scholarly peer reviewed journals looking at the ambivalent roles of consultants in driving management innovation as well as management fashions. Design/methodology/approach A systematic literature review has been performed. Findings This paper provides a systematization of existing literature, where the state of the art is assessed and future research paths are highlighted. Originality/value The proposed research fills the gap concerning a review of literature on this topic and provides an analysis of 50 years of scholarly research, highlighting both the bright and dark sides of management consulting.

Purpose This study aims to examine the trends and themes in the field of customer experience using a bibliometric analysis between 1957 and 2017. Design/methodology/approach The paper analyses 1,767 papers selected from Web of Science (WoS) database using VOS Viewer software tool to create bibliometric networks. The results of the study were classified under the following bibliometric indicators: evaluation of the number of studies analyzed; most cited documents; most influential authors; and highly influential journals, institutions and countries with the highest productivity. Additionally, the paper also presents three co-citation studies analyzing most co-cited references, first authors and journals. Findings Authors and institutes from the American and European countries dominate the contribution to the development of the field. The presence of Asian countries signifies the rising importance being given to the research field. The findings establish the argument that most of the ideas that follow today in the development of the field are mostly sourced from the works published in highly reputed journals. Co-citation analysis indicates the presence of multi-disciplinarity in the research field with journals representing different research areas such as management, strategy and psychology. Research limitations/implications The papers analyzed in the study were retrieved only from the WoS. Furthermore, the precise number of clusters obtained during the analysis depends on the parameter set by the authors which is subjective. Researchers are encouraged to draw further insights by manipulating the parameter criteria. Practical implications The findings in the study can be used to enrich the understanding of customer experience and future research on the topic. Originality/value To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this paper is one of the first comprehensive papers offering a general overview of the leading trends in the field over a period of 60 years.

With the advent of the fifth-generation mobile communication technology era, mobile technology will further change tourism. However, studies on mobile technology in tourism from the perspective of bibliometrics and visualization are limited. This research aimed to systematically, comprehensively, and objectively analyze the current research status and potential future research directions in this field through a visual bibliometric analysis of mobile technology research in tourism. This study used CiteSpace software to analyze 803 related journal papers from the Web of Science Core Collection and provided insights into the research of mobile technology in tourism from the aspects of research trends, research areas, top journals, author/institution/country or region collaboration networks, research keywords, and research foundations. The study can help related personnel in academia and industry to fully understand the research of mobile technology in tourism and provides valuable references for related research fields on bibliometric and visualized analysis.

The dynamic growth in the use of cloud computing systems results in increasing energy consumption. Consequently, more and more attention is given to energy efficiency issues both in research and theory development as well as the business practice of cloud computing systems. In spite of the rapid development of research, the field has not been mapped from the bibliometric perspective yet. This study aims at publication profiling and mapping the thematic structure of the cloud computing energy efficiency research field. Detailed research objectives include: (1) profiling scientific publications in the field, (2) identifying and exploring thematic research areas, (3) identifying emerging topics and discussing their potential as future research lines. The aforementioned objectives are translated into the following study questions: (1) What are the most productive nations, institutions, source titles, and scholars contributing to research on energy efficiency in cloud computing? (2) What does the thematic structure of the research field look like? (3) What are the “hot” research topics attracting scholars’ attention? The research methodology toolbox includes a combination of bibliometric descriptive studies (research profiling), science mapping (keyword co-occurrence analysis), and literature reviews (systematic literature review). Bibliometric data for analysis were elicited from the Scopus database. The VOSviewer software supported bibliometric analysis and data visualization.

Integrating triple bottom line (TBL) goals into supply chains (SCs) is a challenging task which necessitates the careful coordination of numerous stakeholders’ individual interests. Recent technological advancements can impact TBL sustainability by changing the design, structure and management of modern SCs. Blockchain technology enables immutable data records and facilitates a shared data view along the supply chain. The Physical Internet (PI) is an overarching framework that can be applied to create a layered and comprehensive view of the SC. In this conceptual paper I define and combine these technologies and derive several high-level research areas and research questions to investigate adoption, management as well as structural SC issues. I suggest a theory-based research agenda for the years to come that exploits the strengths of rigorous academic research, while remaining relevant for the industry. Furthermore, I suggest various well-established theories to tackle the respective research questions and provide specific directions for future research.

The increasing use of online shopping has escalated product returns and consequently the importance of their management. In parallel, the increasing scholarly interest on the subject is reflected in the number of publications. In such fast-growing research fields, mapping the whole research activity is useful in highlighting research areas that could provide a better knowledge accumulation in the field. With this aim, this chapter conducts co-citation and co-word analysis to identify future research directions. According to results, there is a need for future research to investigate 1) the consumer reaction when the service level received conflicts with the retailer environment (un)friendly operations, 2) the impacts of retailer return policies on their reverse logistics management, 3) the implementation difficulties of handling omni-channel returns in different organizational structures, and 4) the effectiveness of technological tools and applications used to avoid returns. This chapter also discusses the implications of COVID-19 on the commercial product returns research.
