The Effect Of Social Support To Postpartum Depression in Postpartum Mother. Post-partum mother have the potential of depression. Their new role as mother gives a higher burden on their mental health. According to the American of Pedriatrics, a retrospective study conducted by nursing found that one of seven women was hospitalized for depression during pregnancies up to one year after childbirth. The prevalence of maternal depression in 2 weeks after delivery was 80-85% and more than 8-15% will develop into postpartum depression. Pregnant mother who did not receive social support were associated with the incidence of postpartum depression with an OR of 2.12 to 3.38 as well as postpartum mothers who received less social support associated with postpartum depression with OR values of 2.06 to 9.64.The study was conducted by literature studies on 10 previous studies about social support variables and the occurrence of postpartum depression. It was found that social support is essential for post-partum mothers in order to keep their confidence to take care their babies and adapt to new things. The social supports were expected from husbands, families, health professionals and environment. Several factors such as culture, education level, demography, and birth experience have the effects on the potential of post-partum depression. Low level of social support increased maternal depression and reduce maternal mental health within four weeks after delivery. High levels of depression can lead to self-harming, acute depression symptoms such as sadness, crying, irritability, anxiety, concentration difficulty, lability of feelings and sleep and appetite disorders, even at an advanced level, it can lead to suicide. In order to minimize and overcome postpartum depression, midwives are expected to provide promotive preventive care on mental health both in prenatal and antenatal periods.

Postpartum depression is a condition that may be experienced by women. If it is not addressed properly, it will have a negative impact. Determine the correlation between parity and the early stage of the marriage with the incidence of postpartum depression. This research used analytic observational method with cross sectional approach. The population in this research was postpartum mothers in Maternal Hospital Leonisa. The sampling was done using purposive sampling technique. The data analysis was done with univariate and bivariate analysis using Chi-square.The correlation between parity and the incidence of postpartum depression obtains the result of x2 count of 22.864 and p value of 0.000 with df2 and the significance level of (α) at 5% (0.05) x table at 5.591. Therefore, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The correlation between the early stage of the marriage variable with the incidence of postpartum depression obtains a result of x2 count of 12.965 and p value of 0.000 with df 1, the significance level at 5% (0.05), x table at 3.481, therefore, Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. There is a correlation between parity and the early stage of the marriage with the incidence of postpartum depression.

Postpartum depression is depression experienced by mothers during childbirth which begins with fatigue, rest or sleep disturbances, a feeling of not being able to take care of their babies, a feeling of excessive joy due to a baby being born and stress symptoms. One of the efforts to reduce it is educational intervention for early detection of postpartum depression (D3). This study used a Quasi Experiment with a pre and posttest approach with control group. Researchers used an untreated control group as a comparison to determine whether the differences in postpartum depression in the intervention group with the control group were caused by the treatment given D3 intervention. The population in this study were all 110 mothers who had given birth at Aminah Amin's Maternity Clinic. The sample of this study was 60 respondents respectively 30 control group respondents and 30 treatment group respondents. The results showed that there were 48.4% of mothers suffering from postpartum depression after the D3 education intervention there was a decrease in postpartum depression by 65%. The result of the Pair-Test test shows that there is a difference in postpartum depression in mothers with D3 educational interventions with mothers who are not given D3 educational interventions with a sig.0.011 (p˂0.05) value and based on the Logistic Regression Test shows there is no relationship between age and work towards depression. postpartum and there was a significant influence on maternal education (p = 0.003), maternal parity (p = 0.016) and husband support (p = 0.000) on postpartum depression. The need to increase health education for postpartum mothers and provide education on early detection of depression (D3) to husbands and families as companions for the mother during childbirth until the postpartum period

Background Exclusive breastfeeding has a wide range of benefits for maternal health. However, the benefit of exclusive breastfeeding for maternal mental health needs to be further explored. Research Aim To determine the moderating role of exclusive breastfeeding at 3 months on the association between prenatal and postpartum depression. Methods This study had a prospective, longitudinal, and comparative design with two groups and three assessment waves. The sample comprised 334 participants (70 depressed and 264 non-depressed) recruited at public health services in northern Portugal. Participants completed a measure of depression symptoms between the second and the third trimester of pregnancy and between 3 and 6 months, and a measure of breastfeeding status at 3 months. Results Exclusive breastfeeding at 3 months moderated the association between prenatal and postpartum depression. Participants with prenatal depression who were exclusively breastfeeding at 3 months showed fewer symptoms of depression and lower rates of depression between 3 and 6 months postpartum, compared to participants with prenatal depression who were not exclusively breastfeeding. Participants without prenatal depression who were exclusively breastfeeding at 3 months showed similar depression symptoms and similar rates of depression between 3 and 6 months postpartum, compared to participants without prenatal depression who were not exclusively breastfeeding. Conclusion Exclusive breastfeeding has a potential protective influence on postpartum depression among women with prenatal depression. Public health policies targeting women with prenatal depression should be implemented and include practices to promote and support exclusive breastfeeding in order to enhance women’s exclusive breastfeeding and mental health.

Design/methodology/approach The study explores five dimensions of homesickness, namely, missing family, missing friend, rumination about home, feeling lonely and adjustment problems. The collected data is subjected to reliability, validity and confirmatory factor analysis. Further, t-test and analysis of variance are used to explore homesickness differences across soldiers and corporate employees. Findings The study reveals that homesickness is significantly higher for employees in the male, unmarried, nuclear family, above the age of 45 years, and below the graduation category. Also, defense people experience more homesickness than civilian employees. Originality/value This study is one of the pioneer studies that compare homesickness among defense and civilian employees. Moreover, the present study reveals the students’ perceptions on the sustainability of these changes and developments, and therefore aims to reduce the possible negative impact on consumers, and at anticipate the changes that AI will produce in the future. In order to collect the data, the authors have used a quantitative research method. A questionnaire-based sociological survey was completed by 928 students, with a representation error of only ±3%. The analysis has shown that a great number of respondents have a positive attitude towards the emergence of AI, who believe it will influence society for the better. This longitudinal study investigated the impact of maternal mental health, including postpartum depression, and of maternal-fetal attachment, on maternal sensitivity when babies were eight months old. The study included 38 mother-infant dyads. The women answered the SRQ-20 and the Maternal-Fetal Attachment Scale in the third trimester of pregnancy, and the BDI, for evaluation of postpartum depression in the first month following birth. Maternal sensitivity was examined through an observation of mother-child interaction when babies were eight months old. The multiple regression model considering the three factors explained 18.6% of the variance in sensitivity, and only maternal-fetal attachment was a significant predictor. The results indicate the importance of interventions to promote the bond of pregnant women with their babies, which may even minimize possible harmful effects of postpartum depression on mother-child interaction.
