Lucas triangle is an array of coeficients of a polynomial forming a pattern which is similar to Pascal triangle. This research studies Lucas triangle and its properties. The research results show that every row in Lucas triangle is begun by the number 1 and is ended by the number 2,  the sum of the first n terms of number of 1th column is equal to the number at th row, 2nd column. Besides, the number at nth row and  th column of Lucas triangle is  for , the sum of the first n terms of number of jth column is equal to the number at th row,  column for . The number of Lucas triangle is the sum of two number terms in preceded row, that is the number at  th row,  and the number at th row, . Then, the sum of coefficients of each  row of Lucas triangle is . Full Article

The growing practice of returning individual results to research participants has revealed a variety of interpretations of the multiple and sometimes conflicting duties that researchers may owe to participants. One particularly difficult question is the nature and extent of a researcher’s duty to facilitate a participant’s follow-up clinical care by placing research results in the participant’s medical record. The question is especially difficult in the context of genomic research. Some recent genomic research studies — enrolling patients as participants — boldly address the question with protocols dictating that researchers place research results directly into study participants’ existing medical records, without participant consent. Such privileging of researcher judgment over participant choice may be motivated by a desire to discharge a duty that researchers perceive themselves as owing to participants. However, the underlying ethical, professional, legal, and regulatory duties that would compel or justify this action have not been fully explored.

This research studies the associative meanings contained in the traditional medicinal fruits found in Indonesia. The object of research is not the benefits of the traditional medicinal fruits to cure any diseases. Instead, the research objective is the associative meanings contained in the traditional medicinal fruits. The perspective used in this research is the semantico-pragmatics theory. The research results show that the names of fruits found in various regions in Indonesia has associative meanings, such as iconic, collocative, affective, social, and reflective. The associative meanings are found in the traditional medicinal fruits, such as mengkudu, permot, tin, parijoto, leunca, kalaloyang, manggis, mahkota dewa, berunuk, cermai, delima, takokak, and jarak. This research contributes to the following purposes: (1) preserving the local wisdom values found in traditional medicinal fruits; (2) providing socio-cultural documentation of traditional medicinal fruits in various regions in Indonesia; (3) developing the study in the semantic-pragmatic field.

Intellectual capital is among the new, advanced management notions developed to overcome the inadequacy of previous administrations, to adapt to new situations and forge ahead of the competition. Intellectual capital means the information, experience and skills that offer advantage in competition and reveal the values existing within the structure of an enterprise. These values also exist in the relationship between  the enterprise and the environment  and  with the employees. Although some research studies on intellectual capital (IC) have been conducted, to date no research has been carried out on the effects of IC on qualitative and quantitative organizational performance. For this reason, IC and its effects on firm performance (both qualitative and quantitative) were evaluated in this study. Following the evaluation of the intellectual capital and its sub-elements, the differentiation of the sub-elements is made. Then the reliability and validity of these sub-factors are calculated. The intellectual capital model has been tested by the structural equality model (SEM).  According to research results, IC explains 92  per cent of a firm’s performance. The effect of IC on qualitative performance is 0,84, while on quantitative performance it is 0,72. RC impresses qualitative performance with coefficient 0,94, quantitative performance with coefficient 0,60; HC impresses qualitative performance with coefficient 0,92, quantitative performance with coefficient 0,54 less; SC impresses qualitative performance with coefficient 0,90, quantitative performance with coefficient 0,53. According to the results of the research, IC affects both the qualitative and the quantitative performance of firms by supplying extensive knowledge to the managers.

This paper refers to the issues related to safety of military wheeled vehicles. The paper contains a reference analysis of research studies conducted with military wheeled vehicles. Experimental and simulation research results, contained in this publication, constitute the basis for the analyses performed. The issues touched upon here are closely related to vehicles safety, which is reflected in the title of the paper. The analysis results may be useful for armed forces and the arms industry. Measurable effects result in increased safety of a vehicle, thus leading to a reduced risk of road accidents, reduced costs of building applications for military wheeled vehicles, lowered costs of making any possible changes in serial vehicles, and an acquisition of optimal structural designs in terms of safety for the Polish Armed Forces.

The Development of Stereophonic Sound in Slovakia The development of stereophonic sound in Slovakia in the late sixties had a profound impact on the quality of recorded music in all areas of artificial and non-artificial music and it also played an important role in composing music for radio plays. However, the Czechoslovak Radio in Bratislava was at that time the only technically equipped institute in Slovakia where a stereophonic record could be created. Therefore our research studies have particularly been concerned with examining the archives of this institution as well as the valuable information on implementation of the recordings we have collected through interviews with the former staff of the broadcasting organization. Our research focuses for the first time on the period of the beginnings of stereophonic sound in Slovakia, hence the purpose of this article is to summarize the research results.

The paper contains selected results of some research studies that were presented at the Scientific conference of the European Handball Federation. I focus on the research results, which are interesting contribution to coaching practice or which are from areas close to my own research. I present an analysis of statistical data from the last two Olympic Games, which was presented by doc. Táborský, as well as two articles which deal with very often discussed issue of the appropriate size ball for particular age categories. I mention the research carried out the Slovenian coaches, from which some dataI compare with data from research in the Czech Republic. The last mentioned paper compares the training effect of the traditional periodization with block periodization.
