A comparative study of the mythological picture of the world, early forms of religion allows us to identify common features characteristic of the worldview and spiritual guidelines of mankind as a whole. These features can be traced in archaic ideas about the structure of the universe, in understanding their spiritual and bodily essence, the infinity of God and the eternity of the soul, the relationship and interdependence of life forms in the world. This allows us to assert the thesis of the unity of mankind in its spiritual origins, despite racial and ethnic diversity. In the process of a comparative analysis of mythology, early forms of religion, the concept of God, the pantheon and the function of the gods, similar moments and ethnological specifics of understanding the essence of the soul and reincarnation in totemistic beliefs, in cosmological and theogonistic concepts are revealed. The author also analyzes the role and significance of the cult of ancestors, traces the evolution of the idea of proto-monotism (the creative function of Tengri and Brahma, the intention of henotheistic faith) and its place in religious knowledge.

In a long series of important and stimulating publications Georges Dumézil has for almost half a century not only re-established a complex of theories with regard to the comparative study of ancient Indo-European mythology, but also applied a modernized comparative method. In investigating the foundations of the Indo-European socio-religious conceptions he bases his arguments and conclusions, it is true, to a certain extent on linguistic data, but these are always amplified and corroborated by a thorough consideration of the social structure, religious beliefs and ritual institutions of the ancient Indians, Romans, Germans, Celts and Greeks. Especially these last thirty-five years his work is of great originality in that he has founded and developed the theory of the trois fonctions, of the “three fundamental activities which the groups of priests, warriors and producers must fulfil and assure in order to maintain their community”. In this theory it is not the tripartite social organization of the prehistoric Indo-Europeans that is emphasized, but the principle of classification, the ideology to which, in Dumézil's opinion, this organization has given rise. Being reflected in the groupings of, and mutual relations between, the divine powers and in the very structure of Indo-European mythology and view of the world it is here again the ideological rather than the strictly sociological aspects that invite the reader's attention.

The article deals with numerical values in the phraseological picture of the world of various linguistic cultures. Based on a comparative analysis of symbolic meanings of stable combinations of Kazakh, Russian, German, Spanish and English, the description of their culturally determined semantics is carried out. Special attention is paid to the symbolism of the prototypical numbers seven, forty, nine, which are part of many phraseological units and explicate cultural meanings that go back to the key values of folk philosophy. The authors conclude that the comparative study of numbers provides information about culturally determined quantitative criteria, allows us to determine the similarities and differences of numerical values in different linguistic cultures.

Chinese postgraduate professional degree education has undergone 26 years of development, and has achieved a great progress. But compared with the developed nations in the world, China is still in its infantry stage, and needs to learn from the western developed countries’ experiences in this field. This paper makes a comparative analysis of the differences between China and UK in postgraduate professional degree education. It finds that there are significant differences between the two countries in the aspects of programme setting, schooling duration, admissions, curriculum design, teaching delivery, quality control system, etc. The findings imply that China should try to give more authority to universities in programme setting and admissions, and Chinese universities should innovate ways of teaching delivery and systems of quality control.

Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women or CEDAW’s paradigm ofthought is gender equality, women should be given rights as men in principles and rights in marriageincluding marriage approval, marriage dismissal, marriage guardian, and so on. Discrimination is anattitude that opposite of justice and must be eliminated. The source of the CEDAW’s concept paradigmof thought is mind, lustand feeling, and then the concept of CEDAW considered rational andMaslahah (good) enough. The Shafi’i paradigm is guiding the mind and heart based on religious texts. The religious prohibition have Madharat in the world and in the after life. If the world have not seen theMadharat, it will be feltin the after life. The Maslahah principle in CEDAW included al-Maslahah al-Mulghah, as it is contrary enough to the teachings of Islamic law contained in religious texts. In fact, anylaw that is contrary to Islamic law governed by religious texts is not Maslahah but Madharat and shouldbe abandoned even it is logical and good enough by the reason of thought. CEDAW uses Nash’sGuidelines that understand the Qur’an verse by considering Siyaq al-Kalam, so it interprets ‘fair’bythough of mindor in love and affection. Polygamy will no longer mu’asharah bi al-ma’ruf by causing thesuffering of wives. With the Sad al-Dhari’ah consideration, it will change the polygamy law from allowedor mubah to haram lighoirihi. Shafi’i madhhab uses the dalalah ‘ibarah’ which understands the Qur’anverse without considering siyaq al-kalam. The law of Haram li ghairihi on the permissibility of Polygamybased on Sad al-Dhari’ah is not applicable generally, and means that polygamy can not be judged as haramli ghairihi but keep see the conditions with the consideration of the single person condition.

The article discusses the issue of the interaction of religion on ethnoculture and folklore, explores various forms of interpretation and borrowing of the Koran texts, their transformation and use in oral poetry. Religion is closely related to national culture and folklore. It occupies a dominant place in human life, which can explain the widespread use of paremias on religious topics. This study was carried out on the basis of Muslim religious texts, under the influence of which original proverbs and sayings are formed. Substantial pictures of folk life, socio-historical experience, religious beliefs, national culture - all this is reflected in folk proverbs and sayings. The purpose of our study is to examine the influence of the scriptures on the people’s consciousness, on oral and poetic creativity, to identify generally accepted moral and ethical rules of behavior, integrated in wise sayings, which are akin to the Koran moral principles. The scientific novelty of the work lies in the implementation of a comparative analysis of the Kumyk and Lezgin folk proverbs and sayings in comparison with the Koran translations. The units indicating religion and their philosophical and semantic content in the representation of the verbal picture of the world are analyzed on the basis of folk proverbs and sayings. The complexity of the object of the research lies in the fact that this aspect is poorly studied in the ethnofolklore of the Kumyks and Lezghins.
