Abstract In this study, the relationship between pressure management (PM) and infrastructure leakage index (ILI) in distribution systems was investigated based on the field data. Before PM, non-revenue water (NRW) rates were calculated as 48.44%, 76.49% and 36.57% and ILI indicators were determined as 16.97, 22.90 and 26.88, in three DMAs. The leakage volume is also calculated by the FAVAD equation and compared the field data. With the implementation of PM, although NRW ratios decreased, the ILI did not improve in the same rate. ILI class was improved in 3 regions, ILI class dropped from A to B in one region. Although the ILI class did not change in the 5 regions, the loss rates decreased. Using the ILI alone in regions where PM is used can create misleading results in performance analysis. It is thought that it would be more accurate to evaluate losses with performance indicators in PM areas.

ABSTRACTTPT. ANTAM Tbk is a company engaged in the exploration of mining materials such as nickel, gold and silver, and bauxite. Tambea village is one of the areas in Pomalaa Subdistrict, Kolaka Regency, which is close to PT. ANTAM Tbk. The purpose of this study can evaluate the CSR program of PT. ANTAM Tbk in Tambea Village, Pomalaa District, Kolaka Regency. The method of determining the sample uses the System of Rising Intensification method with a population of 24 heads of households as respondents. The analytical method used to determine the relationship between the level of performance and level of expectation is the method of IPA analysis (Importance-Performance Analysis). The results of this study indicate that the company PT. ANTAM Tbk still has to improve its performance on the elements of program distribution and supporting elements of the program. Keywords: Evaluation, CSR Program and company PT. ANTAM Tbk.

In the strategic management literature mission statements are said to be an inseparable part of corporate strategy. It has been argued that they have an impact on the performance of the organization, yet the evidence is unclear. This study is an investigation into the relationship between the financial success of hospitality enterprises and their mission statements. Mission statements of 30 top hospitality enterprises were evaluated. This sample is of significance as it represents some of the largest corporations, and about 200 of the largest brands in the hospitality industry. The mission statements were scored and these scores were tested for correlation with three financial performance indicators. The results indicated that while there was a statistically significant correlation between the mission statements and the annual turnover, there was no significant correlation with the net profit margin or the return on equity. The article concludes by considering how firms may improve their performance by better managing their mission statements.

The aim of the paper is to assess the competitiveness of national production in terms of its resources and energy supply. The authors present the dynamics of energy intensity of some countries and regions of the world and consider the relationship between the level of energy intensity and the competitiveness of national economies. Based on this relationship, countries are grouped depending on the type of the performance indicators of economies. Alternative energy is presented as a tool for improving efficiency of existing industries and for ensuring countries’ position in the world market. The increase in the share of renewable energy in total consumption served as a basis for studying experience of various countries in regulating the development of alternative energy followed by a grouping of methods. The paper analyses both methods associated with the positioning of alternative energy and its incorporation into the existing structure and methods aimed at stimulating the development of alternative energy.

This article purports to investigate the relationship – in an empirical way – between the various operational indicators currently used for the management of call centers in Brazil and customer satisfaction. In this context, a set of call centers rendering services to a telecommunications company will be analyzed in order to verify which of their indicators are positively associated with customer satisfaction. A methodological approach based on surveys as well as stepwise multiple linear regressions is developed and applied in order to achieve the objective of this paper. The “First-Contact Resolution Rate” and the “Average Handle Time After the Call” indicators present a statistically significant relationship with customer satisfaction. Some alternative call center operational performance indicators are proposed, in an exploratory way, so as to convey an enhanced relationship between call center performance and customer satisfaction.

Leakage in water distribution systems is an important issue and of major interest for water utilities. In this study, the Minimum Night Flow (MNF) method to quantify the amount of water lost and the equations representing the relationship between pressure and leakage in power and FAVAD (Fixed and Variable Area Discharge) forms were applied to a District Metered Area (DMA) located in Gorino Ferrarese (FE, Italy) equipped with smart meters. The analysis carried out by exploiting the collected time series of user water consumption, DMA inflow, and pressure highlighted that: (a) the MNF method can lead to significant inaccuracy in leakage estimation in the presence of users with irregular consumptions, when based on literature values, and (b) the estimation of the parameters of the power and FAVAD equation is highly affected by the number and types of observed data used.
