Abstract In the process design and reuse of marine component products, there are a lot of heterogeneous models, causing the problem that the process knowledge and process design experience contained in them are difficult to express and reuse. Therefore, a process knowledge representation model for ship heterogeneous model is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the multi-element process knowledge graph is constructed, and the heterogeneous ship model is described in a unified way. Then, the multi-strategy ontology mapping method is applied, and the semantic expression between the process knowledge graph and the entity model is realized. Finally, by obtaining implicit semantics based on case-based reasoning and checking the similarity of the matching results, the case knowledge reuse is achieved, to achieve rapid design of the process. This method provides reliable technical support for the design of ship component assembly and welding process, greatly shortens the design cycle, and improves the working efficiency. In addition, a case study of the test model is carried out to verify the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed method.

In recent years, the occurrence of primary water stress corrosion cracking (PWSCC) in Alloy 600 weld regions of PWR plants has increased. In order to evaluate the crack propagation of PWSCC, it is required to estimate stress distribution including residual stress and operational stress through the wall thickness of the Alloy 600 weld region. In a national project in Japan for the purpose of establishing residual stress evaluation method, two test models were produced based on a reactor vessel outlet nozzle of Japanese PWR plants. One (Test model A) was produced using the same welding process applied in Japanese PWR plants in order to measure residual stress distribution of the Alloy 132 weld region. The other (Test model B) was produced using the same fabrication process in Japanese PWR plants in order to measure stress distribution change of the Alloy 132 weld region during fabrication process such as a hydrostatic test, welding a main coolant pipe to the stainless steel safe end. For Test model A, residual stress distribution was obtained using FE analysis, and was compared with the measured stress distribution. By comparing results, it was confirmed that the FE analysis result was in good agreement with the measurement result. For mock up test model B, the stress distribution of selected fabrication processes were measured using the Deep Hole Drilling (DHD) method. From these measurement results, it was found that the stress distribution in thickness direction at the center of the Alloy 132 weld line was changed largely during welding process of the safe end to the main coolant pipe.

Abstract Motivation SBML is the most widespread language for the definition of biochemical models. Although dozens of SBML simulators are available, there is a general lack of support to the integration of SBML models within open-standard general-purpose simulation ecosystems. This hinders co-simulation and integration of SBML models within larger model networks, in order to, e.g. enable in silico clinical trials of drugs, pharmacological protocols, or engineering artefacts such as biomedical devices against Virtual Physiological Human models. Modelica is one of the most popular existing open-standard general-purpose simulation languages, supported by many simulators. Modelica models are especially suited for the definition of complex networks of heterogeneous models from virtually all application domains. Models written in Modelica (and in 100+ other languages) can be readily exported into black-box Functional Mock-Up Units (FMUs), and seamlessly co-simulated and integrated into larger model networks within open-standard language-independent simulation ecosystems. Results In order to enable SBML model integration within heterogeneous model networks, we present SBML2Modelica, a software system translating SBML models into well-structured, user-intelligible, easily modifiable Modelica models. SBML2Modelica is SBML Level 3 Version 2—compliant and succeeds on 96.47% of the SBML Test Suite Core (with a few rare, intricate and easily avoidable combinations of constructs unsupported and cleanly signalled to the user). Our experimental campaign on 613 models from the BioModels database (with up to 5438 variables) shows that the major open-source (general-purpose) Modelica and FMU simulators achieve performance comparable to state-of-the-art specialized SBML simulators. Availability and implementation SBML2Modelica is written in Java and is freely available for non-commercial use at https://bitbucket.org/mclab/sbml2modelica.

This paper takes UGNX6.0 as the development platform, by using its UG/KF development tools, fusing feature and knowledge together, so as to realize the process associated with the geometric design knowledge and stamping process design. Based on the features of stamping process, the classification of stamping process knowledge has been studied. With the object-oriented method, the rule-based and instance-based technology for expressing and acquiring the stamping process knowledge is discussed. Based on this, the stamping process model driven by knowledge has been established. It showed the importance of the CAD technology in designing of relatively complex progressive dies. Based on the knowledge engineering process designed, the degree of intelligence stampings process design has been enhanced, design quality and efficiency has been improved, and the dependence of the process design experience of designers has been reduced.

For manufacturing companies it is important to develop and produce products that meet requirements from customers and investors. One key factor in meeting these requirements is the efficiency of the product development process. Design automation is a powerful tool to increase efficiency in that process resulting in shortened lead-time, improved product performance, and ultimately decreased cost. Further, automation is beneficial as it increases the ability to adapt products to new product specifications, which is critical to some categories of products. In this paper the retrieval and evaluation processes of the Case Based Reasoning (CBR) method are extended to include shape matching. This enhanced CBR method supports the reuse of existing components when introducing new variants of variant-rich products. The matching method is based on clearance analyzes and is performed during the retrieval of cases and supports the evaluation of suggestions. The method is described along with a prototype-system where the process of selecting components for roof racks for cars is targeted for automation. One specific component of the roof rack is targeted, namely a rubber pad used in the interface between the car roof and the rack.
