The article considers the issue of design thinking developing methods in foreign language classes. The study materials are presented by educational and methodological courses for teaching foreign languages, methodical developments for professionally oriented teaching, checklists of students’ educational and scientific activity, the final rating of the educational process of the academic groups participating in the experiment. The methods of observation, questioning and interviewing were used. The experimental results were statistically processed. The authors differentiate between the concepts of "design thinking" and "creative thinking" which are often confused. In this case design thinking is viewed as a higher level of thought process. It was found that the most effective basis for developing students' design thinking skills is the OIW (organized independent work), in particular, project activities. The effectiveness of the methodology for the formation and development of students’ design thinking competence core has been proven experimentally in 2018-2020 academic semesters in the process of full-time and remote working modeat at the Foreign Languages and Humanities Department of the Kamyshin Technological Institute (branch) of the Volgograd State Technical University. The conducted study showed that students participation in the experiment significantly influenced their outlook, quality of intellectual modeling, research activities, subject communication both in their native and foreign languages.

Changes in society, the complexity of professional tasks actualize the request to universities to train specialists who are ready for innovation. To develop the innovative potential of students, the modern educational process in universities should be focused not only on the professional training of students, but also on the development of personality. Innovative activities, solving creative tasks to create new products and technologies require active work of the intellect, motivation and will, and this stimulates the development and selfdevelopment of a person. An important factor in the development of innovative potential of students is the educational environment. The functioning of this environment should be based on a systematic analysis of the object, subject, processes, and conditions of innovative development. In addition, it is important to determine the criteria for the effectiveness of the innovation environment, as well as to implement the principle of ensuring the continuous development of students. For the development of innovative potential, it is necessary to use psychological and pedagogical support of the educational process. The main principle of psychological and pedagogical support of the educational process is to take into account the individual characteristics and capabilities of students, the development of their resources. Psychological and pedagogical support of the educational process should be aimed primarily at the actualization of personal competencies that determine innovative activity. For the development of innovative potential, students should participate in the choice of an individual educational trajectory, show educational initiatives and implement them in research activities.

Reflective thinking skills are vital for the modern education in schools. Five important reflective thinking skills are identified so far in the scientific literature: Observation, communication, judgment, decision making, and team working. Additionally, creative thinking is becoming more and more regarded as a necessary part of the educational process. In this chapter, an attempt is made to clarify what a sample of prospective teachers in Greece believe about reflective teaching, while at the same time their knowledge and attitudes towards creative thinking are examined. Results indicated that respondents were not fully informed during their formal university education about creative thinking and reflective teaching, while they also lacked hands-on experience and relevant skills. Future research should further focus on cross-cultural differences regarding creative thinking attitudes and reflective teaching in prospective and professional in-service teachers.

The article discusses the conceptual directions of the development of education: all-age and continuous. Two interrelated basic tendencies of all-age education have been identified. The authors considered the specificity of educational concepts in different countries of the world. Depending on the level of embeddedness of research competence in the activity, a morphological five-aspect classification is proposed. The following aspects of the division were identified as independent: mental orientation of the individual to the implementation of research activities; own (individual) motivational apparatus that stimulates a person to carry out research activities; the level of requirements and the presence of high-quality psychological support of the close external environment for the formation of acquired properties (signs) in a person for the implementation of expedient research activities; the level of requirements and the presence of high-quality psychological support of the distant external environment for the formation of acquired properties (signs) in a person for the implementation of expedient research activities; the presence of a methodological and informational apparatus in an educational institution for identifying congenital and acquired personality inclinations to research activities. The system of research competence for a specific educational institution, including various aspects of its functioning, is presented by the authors in a code dimension (one of the basic requirements of the digital economy). A sequence of development of a code portrait is proposed, which allows the entire set of educational institutions to be divided according to the level of the state of the system of research competence, which gives the management apparatus of the university a powerful mechanism for the formation of acquired properties (attributes) in a person to carry out expedient research activities (creating the necessary volume and focus of research competence of students and trainees). Based on the proposed methodology, a comparison was made between two educational systems: domestic (Russian) and foreign (American).

Therefore, in order to ensure economic and social development of societies, entrepreneurship must comprehensively be supported, encouraged and entrepreneurship education has to be provided. Many similar qualities and skills among individuals having reflective thinking abilities and entrepreneurial individuals arise when reflective thinking, one of the higher-level thinking skills, is defined as the cognitive inquiry that will lead the individual to produce new knowledge and develop alternative ways. The purpose of this research is to identify whether physical education and sports teachers' reflective thinking themes predict entrepreneurial characteristics. Research is designed in accordance with the relational screening model. Semerci (2007), “Reflective Thinking Tendency Scale” and Yilmaz and Sunbul (2009), “Entrepreneurship Scale for University Students” were used as data collection tool. Multilevel regression analysis was benefitted in the analyze of the data.  As a result of this research, it is determined that effective and interrogated teaching sub-dimension was the most independent variable contributing to the entrepreneurial characteristics of physical education and sports pre-service teachers and this was followed by continuous and intentional thinking, responsibility of teaching and science and looking professional sub-dimensions. It has also been determined that sub-dimensions such as open-mindedness, foresighted and sincere and researcher do not make a meaningful contribution to the prediction of entrepreneurial characteristics. Based on these results, it can be said that a pre-service teacher with high entrepreneurial characteristics will have higher reflective thinking tendencies. Besides, it is also possible to analyze how thinking skills such as critical thinking, creative thinking, problem solving and supra-cognitive thinking predict entrepreneurial characteristics.

The paper poses and solves the problem of the technological organization of extracurricular individual activities of foreign undergraduates. The technological effectiveness of the individualized educational process during graduate studies, developing on the basis of the implementation of the capabilities of information and telecommunication technologies, provides faster and better mastery of knowledge, skills and abilities by foreign undergraduates. Information library resources play a significant role in their development, offer great didactic opportunities for individualized training of foreign Masters in education management who do not speak Russian well and, as a result, need tutorial support outside the classroom to process professionally significant scientific information. The authors present a theoretical and methodological substantiation and the results of modeling and testing the technology of extracurricular individualization of foreign Masters training in education management under the guidance of a librarian using a set of information library resources. This technology provides for the interconnected educational and research activities of a foreign undergraduate and the advisory activities of a librarian, implemented during extracurricular times and aimed at the individual processing of professionally significant scientific information in professionally defined situations using a set of information library resources used as means of pedagogical communication to achieve professional goals. The complex of information library resources includes: print collections, electronic catalogs, search platforms and electronic databases and takes into account the direction of training of foreign undergraduates. The technological process of extracurricular individualization provides an algorithm for the interrelated actions of a librarian and a foreign undergraduate in the design, organization, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and diagnosis of educational results and difficulties of extracurricular individual scientific activity. The organizational and pedagogical conditions for the effective implementation of the authors technology are determined and diagnostic tools are developed, including tests and diagnostic criteria for the level of mastery of complex of information library resources. The simulated technology provides individual informational, methodological support to each foreign undergraduate and improves the quality of their research activities, implemented in the virtual educational space of libraries.
