This study explored how an educational program on hematopoietic stem-cell donation (HSCD) affects the knowledge, attitude, and willingness for HSCD among nursing students. The subjects were the nursing students at a university in Korea: 43 in the experimental group and 42 in the control group. All subjects took a pre-test, and only the experimental group attended an educational program. Both the groups completed two post-tests. Variables of interest were knowledge, attitude, willingness, and registration ratio for HSCD. The educational program increased knowledge (F = 8.093, p < 0.001) and attitude (F = −6.422, p < 0.001) of the experiment group. After the program, the experimental group showed higher willingness for HSCD (χ2 = 7.609, p = 0.006) and higher registration ratio for HSCD (χ 2= 4.258, p = 0.039) compared to the control group. The educational programs for knowledge and attitude about HSCD will affect the students’ future nursing, and influence clients and their families toward positive perception on HSCD and organ donations.

Abstract Objective This study aims to assess the knowledge and attitude of nurses toward pediatric palliative care (PPC) and examine the impact of an educational program on pediatric nurses’ knowledge and attitude regarding PPC for children facing life-threatening illnesses or chronic diseases in Jordan. Method A quasi-experimental design was used. Exactly 120 pediatric nurses participated in the study, of which 60 were in the intervention group and 60 in the control group. Results The results of the study showed that nurses had a low score in knowledge and attitude toward PPC. The mean knowledge score of PPC for the control group is 6.88 (SD = 2.26), while that of the intervention group was 7.92 (SD = 1.99; p = 0.052). The mean attitude for PPC score for the control group was 95.88 (SD = 7.90), while that of the intervention group was 100 (SD = 10.95; p = 0.009). Also, the educational intervention had a significant positive effect on the knowledge and attitude toward PPC among nurses. Significance of the results Based on the result of this study, the authors found strong evidence of the effectiveness of the PPC educational program when it came to improving the nurses’ knowledge and attitude toward PPC services and offer us an effective educational program.

<p><strong>Background:</strong> The role of pain education is well established in improving knowledge and attitude towards the adherence to pain assessment and management.</p><p><strong>Methods:</strong> A brief pain education program was delivered to assess nurses' knowledge and attitude towards pain assessment and management. The "KASRP" scale was used at three phases; pre, post, and three months' follow-up phases. Subsequent eight months observation on using pain assessment sheets was also performed.</p><p><strong>Results:</strong> One hundred and four nurses were assessed at the beginning, followed by 92 at the immediate post-test, and 70 at the follow-up. Although nurses scored lowest in having knowledge and attitudes prior to the program, a significant improvement was evident after delivering pain education. In addition, nurses' competency in pain assessment was maintained over the three months of assessment. Younger nurses with shorter clinical experience were found more reactive to the program than older nurses.</p><p><strong>Conclusions:</strong> A brief nurse-driven pain education has improved nurses' knowledge and attitude towards pain management.</p>

Background Hypertension is a major public health threat affecting adults worldwide. The low hypertension management knowledge causes uncontrolled high blood pressure and it’s a complication. It requires patients with uncontrolled hypertension to increase adherence to either pharmacological therapy or nonpharmacological therapy aimed at achieving normal blood pressure. Purpose The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of a short-term educational program on hypertension management related knowledge and attitude among uncontrolled hypertension patients in Malang, Indonesia. Methods The research design used a Quasi-Experimental study with the design of one group pre-post-test. The participants were 41 uncontrolled hypertension patients chosen by purposive sampling at the Ciptomulyo Public Health Center. The questionnaires were used to collect the data. The Hypertension Knowledge-Level Scale (HK-LS) questionnaire was used to determine the knowledge of uncontrolled hypertension patients. KAP questionnaire was used to determine the attitude of the participants. The data were analyzed statistically using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Results The majority of respondents were aged 55–65 (54%), female (83%), housewife (76%), graduated elementary school (71%), and long suffered from hypertension >1 year (68%). The result showed that the provision of the educational program increases knowledge (p = 0,000) and attitude (p = 0,008) of patients on the management of hypertension. Conclusion Health education could improve hypertension management knowledge and attitude among uncontrolled hypertension in the rural area. Furthermore, Health providers should consider giving the education among uncontrolled hypertension.
