Due to the wide application of high and new technology in weapons and equipment, modern weapons present the characteristics of complexity and systematization, and their effectiveness analysis and evaluation are paid more and more attention, which has become an arduous and urgent task in the research of weapon equipment system. Only by using scientific methods and technology to evaluate the effectiveness of various types of weapons and equipment, can we have a profound understanding of the characteristics and application value of weapons and equipment, ensure that the army can give full play to the operational potential of weapons and equipment, improve the operational efficiency, and explore the correct direction of the construction and development of weapons and equipment. Therefore, systematic research on weapon equipment effectiveness evaluation method is a necessary way for every military equipment effectiveness researcher to seek effective and accurate quantitative analysis of weapon equipment effectiveness method.

In order to evaluate the effectiveness of moving target network defense, a dynamic effectiveness evaluation approach based on change-point detection is presented. Firstly, the concept of multilayer network resource graph is defined, which helps establish the relationship between the change of resource vulnerability and the transfer of network node state. Secondly, a change-point detection and standardized measurement algorithm is proposed. Consequently, it improves the efficiency of evaluation by measuring the change-point dynamically and enhancing the accuracy of evaluation based on multilayer network resource graph. What’s more, in order to evaluate the defense effectiveness comprehensively, defense cost and benefits are set as evaluation indicators. Finally, experimental analysis, represented by MT6D and DNAT, proves the feasibility of the proposed evaluation method and the accuracy of the evaluation results.

The paper made analysis of the world security situation and confirms the expansion of conflict zones and change in warfare forms. The main feature of the international confrontation in the 21stcentury is the use of not only military force but also political, economic, information and other means of non-military character meant by the hybrid warfare concept. The authors singled out the tendency for national security expenses increase and change of priorities in their use. The main shortcomings of the system of national security functioning were identified, the consequence was used by Russia to revenge its influence, invade the territory of Ukraine and occupy the Crimea. The necessity of counteracting the imperial ambitions of Russia in the context of its hybrid warfare set Ukraine the urgent task to create an effective security and defence sector, build up and restructure its military spending. The paper emphasizes that the priority areas for financing the security and defence sectors in Ukraine are modernization of armaments and military equipment, development and procurement of the latest types of weapons, growth of research and development projects in the field of military affairs and related branches like aviation and space.

The study aims to develop a method of effectiveness evaluation for geothermal heat recovery in closed mines of Donbas using relations of heat transfer theory in rocks and fluids. Geothermal heat is proposed to recover using coaxial geothermal probes to be installed in flooded closed mines. As a result of evaluation and ranking, five top promising sites with the highest expected performance indicators among 27 closed mines located in Donbas have been identified. The evaluation method takes into account geological settings, mine condition, and heat exchange parameters of the probe with mine water. The locations of the most promising sites were found to correlate with the areas of higher geothermal flux and the deeper mines. The results obtained can be used in feasibility studies on installation and operation of geothermal probes in closed mines.

Systematic research into art and cultural heritage objects in museum collections are growing daily across the world. They are generally undertaken in partnership with archaeologists, curators, historians, conservators, and restorers. The use of scientific methods to answer specific questions about objects produced by different societies reveals the materials and technologies used in the past and gives us a better understanding of the history of migration processes, cultural characteristics, and thereby more grounded parameters for the preservation and conservation of cultural heritage. The use of non-destructive methods, such as the PIXE analysis, is very suitable in such studies because damage or alteration is avoided and the integrity of the object maintained. Such techniques gave historians and curators at the Archaeological and Ethnology Museum in São Paulo new understanding of the Chimu collection of ceramics as well as of the technical process of preventive conservation.
