Abstract: MERN stack is one of the well known web stack that has acquired significance over other stack. This is a direct result of its UI delivering and execution, Cost-Adequacy, Open Source and is not difficult to switch among customer and server. Its essential target is to improve the general exhibition of the application. This stack, as well as utilizing superior execution and tweaked advances, considers web applications and programming to be grown rapidly. MERN stack is an assortment of strong and amazing innovations used to foster adaptable expert web applications, containing front-end, back-end, and data set parts. It is an innovation stack that is an easy to understand full-stack JavaScript structure for building dynamic sites and applications. This is the explanation it is the most favored stage by new businesses. This paper will depict MERN Stack involving 4 advancements to be specific: Mongo DB, Express, Respond and Node.js. Every one of these 4 incredible advancements gives a start to finish system for the designers to work in and every one of these advances have a major influence in the improvement of web applications. : Substantial research has been conducted to compare web servers or to compare databases, but very limited research combines the two. Node.js and Golang (Go) are popular platforms for both web and mobile application back-ends, whereas MySQL and Go are among the best open source databases with different characters. Using MySQL and MongoDB as databases, this study aims to compare the performance of Go and Node.js as web applications back-end regarding response time, CPU utilization, and memory usage. To simulate the actual web server workload, the flow of data traffic on the server follows the Poisson distribution. The result shows that the combination of Go and MySQL is superior in CPU utilization and memory usage, while the Node.js and MySQL combination is superior in response time.

As researchers embrace open and transparent data sharing, they will need to provide information about their data that effectively helps others understand their data sets’ contents. Without proper documentation, data stored in online repositories such as OSF will often be rendered unfindable and unreadable by other researchers and indexing search engines. Data dictionaries and codebooks provide a wealth of information about variables, data collection, and other important facets of a data set. This information, called metadata, provides key insights into how the data might be further used in research and facilitates search-engine indexing to reach a broader audience of interested parties. This Tutorial first explains terminology and standards relevant to data dictionaries and codebooks. Accompanying information on OSF presents a guided workflow of the entire process from source data (e.g., survey answers on Qualtrics) to an openly shared data set accompanied by a data dictionary or codebook that follows an agreed-upon standard. Finally, we discuss freely available Web applications to assist this process of ensuring that psychology data are findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable.

We present a fast, validated, open-source toolkit for processing dynamic contrast enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) data. We validate it against the Quantitative Imaging Biomarkers Alliance (QIBA) Standard and Extended Tofts-Kety phantoms and find near perfect recovery in the absence of noise, with an estimated 10-20x speedup in run time compared to existing tools. To explain the observed trends in the fitting errors, we present an argument about the conditioning of the Jacobian in the limit of small and large parameter values. We also demonstrate its use on an in vivo data set to measure performance on a realistic application. For a 192 x 192 breast image, we achieved run times of < 1 s. Finally, we analyze run times scaling with problem size and find that the run time per voxel scales as O(N1.9), where N is the number of time points in the tissue concentration curve. DCEMRI.jl was much faster than any other analysis package tested and produced comparable accuracy, even in the presence of noise.

Within the Open Source Software (OSS) literature, there is a lack of studies addressing the legitimation processes of innovations that are born in OSS. This study sets out to analyze the legitimation processes of innovations within the deliberations of the Drupal project. The data set constitutes 52 rational deliberation cases discussing innovations that were proposed by members of the community. Habermas’s Ideal Speech Situations (ISS) is used as the framework to view Drupal’s rational deliberations from; in fact within the 52 cases that are examined in this thesis, there were no violations to the guidelines of the ISS in the deliberations. The Communicative Action Theory, Influence Tactics theory and the theory of Validity Claims are aspects of the framework that is used to code and analyze the conversations. These aspects allow for an effective conceptualization of the dynamics of the Drupal deliberations. This thesis was able to find that legitimation processes of innovations in open source software were influenced by the type, complexity and implications of the innovations on the rest of the community. Also, bug fixes, complex innovations and innovations that have implications on the rest of the software will result in a long (in terms of number of comments) legitimation process. Also, it is empirically backed in this study that in open deliberations that aim at achieving mutual understanding towards a common goal, the communicative action type and the rational persuasion influence tactic are the most common methods for innovators to interact with the community.

Apache Solr, an open source Java-based search engine, forms the core of many Library 2.0 products. The use of an index in place of a relational database allows faster data retrieval along with key features like faceting and similarity analysis that are not practical in the previous generation of library software. The popular VuFind discovery tool was built to provide a library-friendly front-end for Solr’s powerful searching capabilities, and its development provides an informative case study on the use of Solr in a library setting. VuFind is just one of many library packages using Solr, and examples like Blacklight, Summon, and the eXtensible Catalog project show other possible approaches to its use.

This paper discusses the research-based origins and modular architecture of an open source geospatial tool that facilitates synchronous individual and group discussions using the medium of a Web map service. The software draws on existing open source geospatial projects and associated libraries and techniques that have evolved as part of the new generation of Web applications. The purpose of the software is discussed, highlighting the fusion of existing open source projects to produce new tools. Two case studies are briefly discussed to illustrate the value an open source approach brings to communities who would remain otherwise outside the reach of proprietary software tools. The paper concludes with comments on the project’s future evolution as an open source participatory mapping platform.

There are many tools available for analyzing MATSim transport simulation results, both open-source and commercial. This research builds a new open-source visualization platform for MATSim outputs that is entirely web-based. After initial experiments with many different web technologies, a client-server platform design emerges which leverages the advanced user interface capabilities of modern browsers on the front-end, and relies on back-end server processing for more processor-intensive tasks. The initial platform is now operational and includes several aggregate-level visualizations including origin–destination flows, transit supply, and emissions levels as well as a fully disaggregate traffic animation visualization. These visualizations are general enough to be useful for various projects. Further work is needed to make them more compelling and the platform more useful for practitioners.

Abstract This paper presents results of developing the Informational and Computational System for CFD Researchers. It is the second generation of SELIGER: System of Embedded-Linked Information and Graphics for Engineers and Researchers. The main goal of the system is a support of CFD and related sciences working in the net environment. Modification of the network prototype is connected with server’s database modernization to provide stable working and fast accessing to server. Java-based applets provide an effective front-end interface to the remote CFD solvers. The network programs support an on-line analysis of complex distributed data set via Internet and are used to derive latent relations between depended values after simulation.
